Is it really that bad - Tesco Advert

People on Twitter are calling for a boycott of Tesco because of this ad

Apparently it's a political message of medical apartheid.

AIBU to think it's one small scene in an advert referencing last years lack of Christmas? FWIW I'm not crazy about Tesco in general and I don't think people should be coerced into medical treatments they are unhappy to take..... but seriously is this advert worth a boycott?

What? Shut the front door! I don’t believe you 🙄

If it’s made for kids, Santa arriving at the airport on his sleigh in customs doesn’t make sense. It’s a fail 😆

ApplesinmyPocket · 15/11/2021 10:02

I liked the ad. I think it read the mood of the nation well - 'let's get out there and have a good time, last year was so rubbish!'

It's got a 'we're on your side' feel to it, as indeed it had last year, when after we'd all been lectured about stockpiling the Tesco ad wagged a jaunty finger 'you stockpiled loo roll, didn't you!' - one big happy family with us. Grin

SusieBob · 15/11/2021 10:04

It's clearly a joke.

JumperandJacket · 15/11/2021 10:10

It's my favourite of the Christmas ads by far.

TeaSoakedDisasterMagnet · 15/11/2021 20:44

I imagine there’s a fairly big overlap between the nutters who are against the Tesco advert, with the racists against the JohnLewis advert, so I guess those two shops will have a better class of customer soon.

It's hilarious watching nutters tie themselves in knots about how it's the end of days/beginning of tyranny. Everyone knows IRL Santa is in the sleigh and has no need for airport security/border control.

the80sweregreat · 15/11/2021 21:55

It's funny and the haters are slightly mad.
I hope they don't pull it because a few people are upset about it.

MissTrip82 · 15/11/2021 22:22

The only unreasonable thing is anyone anywhere ever using the term ‘medical apartheid’ about this issue.

StepAwayFromGoogling · 15/11/2021 22:29

Agree with @MissTrip82 100% - calling it 'medical apartheid' is offensive.
