Roasted with olive oil, salt and pepper for 10-15 mins on high

It’s freaking amazing and I never knew little trees could taste this good!

I like stir fried broccoli but roasted cauliflower.

BoredZelda · 11/11/2021 21:51

What’s wrong is consuming brocolli at all.

EinsteinaGogo · 11/11/2021 21:51

@LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow

Yes to roasted cauliflower...I was very sure that people were utterly out of their minds to roast cauliflower. I imagined it would be dry with the texture of foosty polystryrene after being in the oven, but no...it's a totally different thing to its substandard boiled incarnation. Especially if you roast it round a chicken.....utter heaven!

You win the internet today, for the fabulous word, foosty!!!

HollyandIvyandAllThingsYule · 11/11/2021 21:52

Tbh I’m easy - I love broccoli all ways. Except nasty and over-boiled...

YellowMonday · 11/11/2021 21:55

I also love pan fried in butter, olive oil, garlic, black pepper, and a squeeze of fresh lemon. Serve sprinkled with lightly toasted slivered almonds. Delicious!

Comedycook · 11/11/2021 21:57

I like roasted broccoli too...tastes a bit like the crispy seaweed you get at a Chinese restaurant

Prattypitel · 11/11/2021 21:57

I love this thread.all those wonderful dishes with veg,love it😋🥦

Bigoldhag · 11/11/2021 21:58

I only roast my veg lololol. Light spritz of olive or sesame oil, garlic rubbed through if I fancy, and some Good Bagel seasoning, little bit of crumbled parmesan in the last five mins, yum!

Hoesbeforebroes · 11/11/2021 21:59

I pan fry broccoli pieces in olive oil and whatever seasoning goes with the meal, until they're a bit browned. Gives them a lovely nutty taste.

Roast whole cauliflower is wonderful. I cover it in a thick baste of tandoori paste mixed with greek yoghurt, which forms a delicious crust.

HalloHello · 11/11/2021 22:00

Show me a vegetable that ISN'T made instantly better by oil, garlic, salt, pepper and roadted???

MintyGreenDream · 11/11/2021 22:00

I'm definitely trying this

RedHot22 · 11/11/2021 22:03

I love roasted cauliflower so need to try broccoli too.

HopingForOurRainbowBaby · 11/11/2021 22:12

@rslsys

Just a heads up. If you want sprouts like your granny used to make for Christmas dinner, they should have been on to boil a fortnight ago .. .

TatianaBis · 11/11/2021 22:14

Did you parboil first OP?

Bimblybomeyelash · 11/11/2021 22:20

I sprinkle copious amounts of garlic
Powder over my cauliflower, I like roasting whole cloves of garlic til soft and mushy, but the cauliflower doesn’t need that long in the oven.

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 11/11/2021 22:20

So many vegetables tastes better roasted.

Cauliflower comes to life in the oven whereas boiled cauliflower is the dreariest thing ever.

Boring old green beans turn into beauties in the oven too.

Claudethecat · 11/11/2021 22:26

Roast beetroot with balsamic vinegar is also lush.

Claudethecat · 11/11/2021 22:27

That book moght need to go on

Scraggythang · 11/11/2021 22:28

Yes. With lemon juice, garlic and chilli flakes. I could snack quite happily on that alone.

Claudethecat · 11/11/2021 22:29

Agh. Meant to say that book might need to go on my Xmas list RedHot22!

NotMyCat · 11/11/2021 22:31

I've never tried it but will do now! I really like salad so if I can pack more veg in to that...

Duckrace · 11/11/2021 22:39

Roasted beetroot with leaves, feta and vinaigrette. Yum.

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 11/11/2021 22:55

@CovidPassQuestion

But can you roast them from frozen like this?
It's better if you thaw it first - also gives you the opportunity to cut it into more even-sized pieces.
Polecat03 · 11/11/2021 22:57

Whenever I've roasted Broccoli it's always very bitter. No idea where I'm going wrong, it's definitely not burnt either - but bitter?
