Roasted with olive oil, salt and pepper for 10-15 mins on high

It’s freaking amazing and I never knew little trees could taste this good!

We had this tonight and it's the best, discovered it about a year ago! Not sure about trying it with cauliflower though, I hate cauliflower normally...

Tallisimo · 11/11/2021 21:28

Oh, I must try this!

SherBear1971 · 11/11/2021 21:28

Yes! Cauliflower too.... although I have it with curry type spices... glorious

gogohm · 11/11/2021 21:28

Discovered this a few years ago. Also roasted kale is amazing

Anonymous48 · 11/11/2021 21:29

I mean, doesn't everyone know this?

CactusLemonSpice · 11/11/2021 21:30

Can I let you in on a life changing secret? Roast cabbage. Takes longer, but peel off the outer leaves and it's perfect. So delicious.

Also - same goes for pretty much everything Wink

imsorryihaventaclue · 11/11/2021 21:31

Also love this (& roast cauliflower). Another deli alternative for broccoli is stir fried with garlic & soy sauce. I chuck in green beans & cavolo Nero too… bloody lovely

CactusLemonSpice · 11/11/2021 21:32

Roast butternut squash, beetroot, carrots, seriously guys, every day is sunday in the LemonSpice household!

Sassy306 · 11/11/2021 21:33

Try it stir fried with garlic in Sesame oil and finished with a splash of soya sauce. Let it brown slightly on high first then serve while it still has crunch. Amazing on top of spag bol and pasta dishes

opalplumstead · 11/11/2021 21:34

@CovidPassQuestion

But can you roast them from frozen like this?
Yes I'm wondering this !! I suppose if not you could always microwave it first 😳
5128gap · 11/11/2021 21:35

Sweet potatos with cinnamon.

immersivereader · 11/11/2021 21:36

Does it make you fart less?

queenatom · 11/11/2021 21:37

Yep, this is correct. Also delicious with a bit of paprika and cumin sprinkled on top as well, served with a yoghurt and tahini dressing.

I was coming on here to say roast cabbage. Especially red cabbage. It's fabulous.
buzzy1 · 11/11/2021 21:39

Also late to the party -only discovered roasting method after getting romanesco broccoli and looking up a recipe- the Italians have probably been doing this for years.

InThisMultiverse · 11/11/2021 21:42

We add sliced garlic and season with finely grated Parmesan before roasting, although they’re too pretentious for a roast dinner in my view.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 11/11/2021 21:42

drain tinned chickpeass, spread in baking tray, sprinkle with whatever you want, roast on 200°C for I think 15mins

it's amazing

Yes yes yes to cooking it in sesame oil! Especially nice with sesame oil and the Tesco mixed peppercorns! 😋
TheNestedIf · 11/11/2021 21:45

What would possibly blow your mind is whole, roasted cauliflower. So easy that even if you hate it, at least you haven't wasted much time.

Rub it with in olive oil and lemon juice, then sprinkle it with cumin seeds and rock salt. Wrap it in oiled foil and put in a preheated 200C oven for about an hour. I think I also used to open the foil and leave it for an additional 15 mins.

TuftyMarmoset · 11/11/2021 21:47

I actually like it steamed!

HollyandIvyandAllThingsYule · 11/11/2021 21:48

I’ve been roasting broccoli for years.

Seriously though, vegetables are so delicious. All they need is a little bit of loving treatment (seasoning and a generous glug of olive oil or a knob of butter).

Whose · 11/11/2021 21:48

This sounds great

NataliaSerene · 11/11/2021 21:49

Roasted cauliflower with pepperoni

Haveyoubrushedyourteethtoday · 11/11/2021 21:49

@5128gap

Sweet potatos with cinnamon.
And a sprinkle of powdered ginger.

You’re welcome..

HollyandIvyandAllThingsYule · 11/11/2021 21:49

And frozen broccoli is best for roasting imo, so even more convenient! Win-win!
