How often do you deep clean your house all the way through?

Firstly, AIBU to be totally fed up of cleaning?!
My house is not a tip (I don't think!) but I have just spent 2 whole days cleaning it from top to bottom and it's still not finished. Twice a year I usually deep clean all the way through- things such as touch up paint, clean rugs/sofa/carpet with a professional carpet cleaner, scrub the whites around the windows, pull beds/furniture out and clean behind. I also spent at least an hour cleaning every day without the bigger jobs such as changing beds, cleaning blinds/windows etc. It honestly feels like a complete never ending task. Me and DH have been cleaning for the last two days in preparation for Christmas (last bit of annual leave before we put our tree up). I really wish I had a cleaner.

Do you have children?

Never.

Occasionally deep clean a single room, but the whole house in one go?

Never

I clean the house once a week on my ‘day off’, but that mainly involves hoovering/mopping all the downstairs floors and cleaning the kitchen sink and bathrooms. Then I either wipe the windowsills or clean the Kitchen cupboard doors or Hoover upstairs or do something else similar. There is never a day when all of those things are done on the same day. I don’t remember the last time I moved the bed to hoover under it, although it sounds like something I might have done in lockdown when I was bored. And there is always paint work Somewhere that needs touching up (At the moment, the dining room has a few scuffs and chips, but it’s not urgent at all.

Your house must look like a show home when you’ve done, I think the stress of trying to keep it like that would send me over the edge.

Constantly. It’s never ending. Even rooms not being lived in every day need cleaning or they look stale.

There’s daily jobs, twice or 3 times a week jobs, weekly jobs, monthly jobs, quarterly jobs, half yearly jobs, yearly jobs. It’s the same with the garden. Everything is written in a diary that’s used year after year though there’s plenty of room for manoeuvre if circumstances change at home for any reason.

It’s the price we pay for having the house we do but even a long time ago when we lived in a much smaller house it was very much the same except the jobs took less time snd I did it myself whereas nowadays I have full time help.

Yes, mine, they come for a week on and a week off. They're asking for money in exchange for jobs... So a cleaning set for Xmas.🤣🤣

My mum does this type of thing once a month and cleans nearly daily on a normal level
I deep clean maybe once a year but haven't done it properly this year due to 1 year old DD. Normal clean once a week

Once every 10 to 12 years, maybe...
