Has anyone else been watching the snag tights/applicant for social media position debacle? I have no involvement in this but have been watching from the sidelines in utter bafflement and now I don’t know if I’m missing something or if this person is truly reaching in order to take offence

So snag tights were recruiting. This person applied, was asked to do a video interview, said yes and was then not interviewed and when snag came back they said all positions were filled, they’d missed her reply and were but would be back in touch when recruiting again. This person believes it was because snag had looked at their social media and decided they no longer wanted to interview them.

This has erupted on both sides with this person posting on multiple social media sites and snag owner Brie seeming to apologise over and over. Admit a mistake was made and that steps were being put in place to resolve moving forward.

That’s it in a tiny nutshell but there’s so much more now including accusations of doxxing.

Is anyone else been reading? AIBU to think the applicant has taken it too far now and needs to move on?

Grim grim grim! She's never going to get a 'real' job and she knows it. This isn't about any perceived slight, this all about attention for her and traffic to her social media and Only fans. Her parents must be really proud

I only heard about this when I read Brie's statement about it yesterday, which I've copied from their Facebook page

Hey folks,
I just wanted to explain a bit about what happened with these accusations of doxxing.
During the applications for the Community Champions we had one applicant that was invited for interview, they replied back with times they were available. We missed that email - and didn’t reply to them for 4 days. When we saw it we’d already filled all the roles. We explained to them that we’d include them in the next round.
The next thing we knew they were making videos asking for our head of community to be terminated. Saying that we didn’t interview them because we’d seen a video they made expressing strong views.
Our head of community explained to them this wasn’t the case and with 250 applicants there was just no way she had time to look in detail at everyone’s socials at the first stage.
Then the hate videos ramped up. Calling us evil, disgusting, and loads of words I can’t mention here, super personal attacks. They said they had proof of our actions in our emails and comms. So we released all our communications with them.
At this point they conceded some of the allegations were untrue and told their followers (not us directly because they won’t communicate directly) they didn’t think we had acted in a discriminatory way at all. And published a list of demands.
I went away and really thought about why someone would be so angry about this. And I realised we really did let them down with our recruitment process. So I explained what we would change in a post.

• that we will have a hard close date on all recruitment
• We will sift every CV we get
• We will make sure everyone invited for interview gets interviewed

They said this was still not enough and published another list of demands. I thought about this and went back to them with a final apology explaining I absolutely couldn’t fire someone for missing an email. It’s not fair or justified at all. In this message which was posted in the comments - I used their first name as a mark of respect and to address the seriousness and sorriness I felt for the whole situation. I didn’t realise this was bad as they had been using my first name and the first name of our Head Of Community throughout all the interactions. Someone then said they didn’t want their first name shared - so I deleted it. This person then shared that apology to their 9000 followers including their name. Now they are saying that I doxxed them. And massive accounts on TikTok are saying I purposely shared their full name, address, and place of work - which of course I didn’t. The attacks have been so personal and filled with hate that we’ve had to implement automatic blocking on all platforms. I’m sorry this is so harsh but we need to protect the mental health of the people that work for Snag. I’m sorry I let everyone down with this. And our recruitment processes weren’t up to scratch we have a HR person starting in December who should be able to sort all of this out. I’d you want to look at all the facts they are on my Briefromsnag Instagram account. I’ve had to delete all my private pictures and updates from there to protect my family. I’m really at an end as to what to do here other than share all the interactions we’ve had. I’m just really lost with it all. Thank you for listening to this long post. Brie

If they showed a bloke on a building site with tights on that would actually be amazing and inclusive. I haven't seen an advert like this from them.

Calzedonia make the best tights ever. They fit so well and don’t bobble or get holy at the toes. I have a few pairs that I bought years ago and they’re almost as good as new. I recommend them to everyone.

@CloseYourEyesAndSee It really is. I once searched for something Pokémon Go related and found myself watching people having sex. Took two clicks from my original search. (Turns out the wife of the person I was searching is a porn star.)

I've also seen awful videos from atrocities being posted in real time - people dying, really upsetting scenes. Twitter is not a place for children.

Did this person seriously think that a potential employer for a social media post wouldn't look at her social media? That alone should disqualify her from any consideration for the job.

My DS is on Instagram and Tiktok and he needed a Twitter account for something. I intercepted him before he made it and made it clear he is never to go on Twitter. However then his school football coach started tweeting out team photos etc. it's a minefield. Obviously the answer is still no to Twitter but I can't understand why they allow pornography on the site when every other social media restricts it.

Wow! Hadn't read anything about this but watched the first 4 videos she posted on Instagram about Snag and thought wow she is batshit crazy!!! Then I saw her Twitter 🤢 why on earth she would think any company would want to employ her as their community champion is beyond me. Don't blame them for not interviewing her. Companies change their minds / shorten the recruitment process all the time. She needs to let it go and move on.

I wouldn't have interviewed that person, either. The timing is odd, because the logical points to screen for social media red flags would have been either before inviting someone to do a video interview, or after the video interview was completed - not in between sending the interview invitation and actually scheduling the interview. But when someone is this clearly batshit, there's a good chance they did something else to raise red flags in the meantime.

I honestly couldn’t give a shit if soneone has a male model advertising tights and I can’t quite grasp the mind set that Someone would not actually buy the tights because of it, but I guess we are all different.🤷‍♀️

That post from the CEO of the company - she sounds at the end of her tether. On one hand it's just as well they did not recruit this individual, who would have caused no end of merry hell at the company. But on the other, it;s so scary how one person can cause such issues online just to be an arsehole.

Twitter is particularly bad for it, as people will share their OF links and pretty hardcore content. But frankly, every social media platform is the same, no matter how much they insist they crack down on porn, automatically detect this and that etc etc.

I am 5ft10 with 34 inch legs, size 14but all tummy and no arse. Snags are amazing. I don't go for the zany colours but instead of having 20 pairs of poorly fitting tights I now have really good tights, has made a huge difference.

This person is clearly unsuitable and the reaction is 50 shades of barmy.

However; I feel like Snag have made this so much worse by the grovelling apologies, the CEO posted all these things on her personal social media etc. The company needs to take the high ground; their desperation for virtuosity just comes across as embarrassing.

I really like Snag tights (although I haven’t bought them for a couple of years and see some comments about size changing mean they’re no good if you’re smaller than a 12 nowadays which would be a shame if true), I didn’t know they were so super woke and that puts me off far more than this silly saga.

I think that comment about sizing was related to the dungarees not snag. I bought some a few weeks ago in size 14 and there were three or four smaller sizes.
