If someone said "mid to late morning" to you, what time would you think that was?

Making contact arrangements with ex for after Christmas (so not imminently firming up plans IYSWIM).
Told ex I would be able to drop off at a mid-way point mid-late morning.
He's now asked for a "rough time" so he can plan his departure time.

AIBU that I have already give a rough time?

I’d think 10-11

HollysBush · 06/11/2021 09:49

10-11?

Chasingsquirrels · 06/11/2021 09:49

In those specific circumstances I'd want a time, never mind a rough time.

ArblemarchTFruitbat · 06/11/2021 09:50

Agree with pps.

ParmigianoReggiano · 06/11/2021 09:50

11/11.30

doodleygirl · 06/11/2021 09:50

Late morning to me would be 11.55 Grin

cantgetmyheadroundit · 06/11/2021 09:50

I'd say the same as pp. Just tell him a time.

Calicoqueen · 06/11/2021 09:50

Definitely 10 to 11.

AliTheMinx · 06/11/2021 09:50

11-11:30

LawnFever · 06/11/2021 09:50

I’d think 11am ish, but why not just tell him?

Moonshine11 · 06/11/2021 09:51

Why is it hard to say a time? Am I missing something 🙈

GoodnightGrandma · 06/11/2021 09:51

10-11, but if it’s important like Xmas I’d want a definite time.

MonkeyPuddle · 06/11/2021 09:51

Mid morning is about 9:30 to me and late morning is anywhere up until lunchtime. So a fairly large window in my eyes.

Sirzy · 06/11/2021 09:51

If your meeting at a mid point you need a precise (to within 15 minute) time not a wishy washy rough time

Sleepinghyena · 06/11/2021 09:51

That seems a perfectly reasonable request from him.
To me, mid to late morning would be 10am-11.30am approximately. But it's open to personal interpretation. So he's asking for a rough idea. All you need to do is say "between 10am and 11am" or whatever suits you.

VividGemini · 06/11/2021 09:52

Mid to late morning would never be earlier than 1015 but if not given a specific time I would expect to wait until midday.

Yogaandcocoa · 06/11/2021 09:52

@LawnFever

I’d think 11am ish, but why not just tell him?
It seems like you are being a bit awkward

I'd think 10:30-11:30

ineedsun · 06/11/2021 09:53

11-12 (or 10 for early risers). You definitely need to be more specific.

Lindy2 · 06/11/2021 09:53

I'd say late morning is 11am. Mid to late morning approx 10 - 11am.

It would be better though to actually state an approximate time like around 10.30am or between 10am and 11am as obviously it means that everyone understands what's intended.

Elephantsparade · 06/11/2021 09:53

Mid morning to me is 9.30ish and late morning to me is 11ish.

shouldistop · 06/11/2021 09:53

I'd think 9-11 but I'd also want a time. Why can't you give him one?

Whinge · 06/11/2021 09:53

@Chasingsquirrels

In those specific circumstances I'd want a time, never mind a rough time.
Same here. Mid to late morning could be any time from 10- 12. He wants to make plans, so is asking for a more specific time than at any point in a 2 hour window.
44PumpLane · 06/11/2021 09:53

Mid to late morning 10-12.....useful if someone is dropping something off to your home.

For the example you are giving I'd want a specific time, or at least a half hour window (assuming traffic may impact exact time) - his is being perfectly reasonable to want this.

knittingaddict · 06/11/2021 09:54

Without looking at other replies - 10/10.30 to 12 noon.

Agree with this his request is totally reasonable and its odd you're being so obtuse in not giving him a clear time.

If I'm arranging to meet someone I'd want a specific time given so I'm not left arriving too early or late especially when children are involved.

People's ideas of mid morning may differ but if you say 10 for example then there is no room for confusion.
