If someone said "mid to late morning" to you, what time would you think that was?

Making contact arrangements with ex for after Christmas (so not imminently firming up plans IYSWIM).
Told ex I would be able to drop off at a mid-way point mid-late morning.
He's now asked for a "rough time" so he can plan his departure time.

AIBU that I have already give a rough time?

10:30-11:45
For a mid-way pick-up you will need quite an exact time (traffic permitting) because hanging around in the middle of nowhere is soul destroying.

I see your point that it's a bit soon to be asking, but it's no big deal, just say "let's call it 11am" and move on. Of all the million things to let your ex wind you up about, this is not one.

EdgeOfTheSky · 06/11/2021 09:55

11 or 11.30.

YABU.

What’s the problem with being specific?

Auntycorruption · 06/11/2021 09:55

Agree with the others it's stupid not to agree a proper time. Just opens the door for unnecessary conflict.

Concestor · 06/11/2021 09:55

10.30-11.30

KrispyKale · 06/11/2021 09:56

10.3O ish

EdgeOfTheSky · 06/11/2021 09:56

People can have a lot to plan around Christmas: is there time for XX to drop off presents / will I be back in time to host auntie coming for Christmas cake etc etc.

HollysBush · 06/11/2021 09:57

But you need to give him a rough time. It’s like when a delivery says ‘morning’ I get so anxious having to be alert and ready to answer the door any time from 8am to 1pm. Drives me crazy.

Tomatalillo · 06/11/2021 09:57

10.30 - 12. Probably more like 11 - 12

ineedsun · 06/11/2021 09:57

@Elephantsparade

Mid morning to me is 9.30ish and late morning to me is 11ish.
😂 you’d hate me, 9.30 is about the time I think about getting up on a weekend if I don’t have to be somewhere, I’d be horrified if someone was coming to visit that early.
ForensicFlossy · 06/11/2021 09:57

If I was meeting someone I would want a time not a rough estimate.

knittingaddict · 06/11/2021 09:57

@Chasingsquirrels

In those specific circumstances I'd want a time, never mind a rough time.
Me too. We frequently do drop off/pick up for the grandchildren's contact and we've been caught out by this in the past. An actual time asap is not unreasonable.
Shasha17 · 06/11/2021 09:57

10:30-11:30

debbrianna · 06/11/2021 09:57

10am to 11:59am

SheWoreYellow · 06/11/2021 09:57

I’d think 10.30-11.30, but looking at other answers it’s clear it’s subjective. Just tell him what time you think mid to late morning is.

WhatsitWiggle · 06/11/2021 09:58

That's a pretty big window, to me mid-morning is 9-10 and late morning 10 to 11:30.

I'd be pissed off if I'd arrived at a services for 9am and you didn't turn up until 11:30.

Give a time, or a hour window but say you'll call/text when you're setting off. That way he can be ready to leave for the earlier time but can relax at home if you're not ready then rather than sat at a services.

Shasha17 · 06/11/2021 09:58

However, YABU. You have NOT given him a time. Only a rough estimate. Which is quite rude and awkward so best to give an actual time

UnsuitableHat · 06/11/2021 09:59

11-11.30

debbrianna · 06/11/2021 09:59

My morning only applies to daylight

CamsPaisleyCuffs · 06/11/2021 09:59

If I was your ex waiting for you to drop the kids at my house "Mid to late morning" would be fine.

If I'm sat in a supermarket car park or lay by waiting for them, I'd want a more specific time.

MadeOfStarStuff · 06/11/2021 10:00

YABU just arrange a specific time

Mid to late morning is very vague when it’s Christmas so people will need to work other plans around it, especially as a drive to a midpoint location is involved

PanicStationsAhh · 06/11/2021 10:00

11ish. But I agree with pp you're being deliberately difficult not specifying.

IamtheDevilsAvocado · 06/11/2021 10:00

Give a time... Then share your driving progress from Google maps...

I'd be really hacked off if I had to hang around for aeons at Christmas un thé cold... If your late morning meant 1145 and my late morning was 1030...

Jobseeker19 · 06/11/2021 10:00

10-11am

DobbyTheHouseElk · 06/11/2021 10:00

11am

IamtheDevilsAvocado · 06/11/2021 10:00

Unless there's a massive backstory
