I was in the charity shop today and found these I absolutely love them think they are super cute. I know some might find them awful but are they that bad?

They are vintage St Micheals (is that marks and Spencer) and made in England. Haven't got a clue how old they are but they are unworn and we're a bargain.

Beyond awful

MrsSkylerWhite · 29/10/2021 20:27

They’re slippers. My husband’s auntie had armchairs with very similar fabric.

If you love them, great, enjoy.

lottiegarbanzo · 29/10/2021 20:32

Your feet and ankles are faaarr too slender for them. So sweeit!

LauraSaidIShouldBeNicer · 29/10/2021 20:38

Oh I love anything max mara but they aren't great... Says the woman in granny slippers 🤣 I hope they do loosen a touch they are a bit snug around the front.

I genuinely love them. I would like a pair and I would absolutely wear them as shoes, whatever they actually are. I do make some unusual fashion choices though and have had several comments in the past about my granny shoes...

NerrSnerr · 29/10/2021 21:02

I love them and would consider buying them if I saw them in the charity shop!

dayswithaY · 29/10/2021 21:04

Marjorie from the Golf Club wants her shoes back.

They must be worn with American Tan tights surely?

Bit too soon for them to be fully appreciated, give it another 10 years.m

IslaPineappple · 29/10/2021 21:04

My Nan had that exact pair. They outlived her. Maybe they are hers Shock

She was a lovely lady if so and would find it hilarious you're wearing them out of the house.

feejee · 29/10/2021 21:07

Oh my goodness, thank you! It might sound silly, and I hope not offensive, but I looked at your first photo and thought they looked familiar. Then i saw the next pictures of them being worn and and a memory of my nanna shot so brightly in my mind. She must have had some very similar. She died in 89, so about right timewise. I feel very grateful for this thread and your tapestry footwear for jogging my memory.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 29/10/2021 21:08

I think they’re slippers too

Perfectly good slippers!

LuaDipa · 29/10/2021 21:16

I’m sure my Nan had a pair of these.

RobertaFirmino · 29/10/2021 21:39

Laura If the very same shoes had been bought from Hush for £139.95, it would be 'Oh, what gorgeous shoes, how divine and exquisite!'.

caketiger · 29/10/2021 21:47

They. Are. Awful.

FireworkParrot · 29/10/2021 22:21

Are my vintage tapestry shoes that bad?

Aye

This has really made me laugh! Grin

Pedalpushers · 29/10/2021 22:27

I'm sorry but they are incredibly fug and wearing them with a denim dress...yikes.

RacketeerRalph · 29/10/2021 22:28

Those are THE most hideous things I've ever seen!

category12 · 29/10/2021 22:32

They make my eyeballs sad.

BertramLacey · 29/10/2021 22:33

They're slippers made of carpet.

bestcattoyintheworld · 29/10/2021 22:34

You'll be needing some support stockings to go with them.

CaMePlaitPas · 29/10/2021 22:38

I wonder who died so that you could have their slippers?

LadyJJ · 29/10/2021 22:39

My mum had these!!
They are slippers

Cheeseplantboots · 29/10/2021 22:42

They’re slippers and pretty awful ones at that but if you like them, who cares. Just please don’t wear them out of the house!

Mrstamborineman · 29/10/2021 22:45

Apologies for the delay in responding, I had to sit down, they are truly the ugliest shoes, slippers, footwear, I seen in a long time.
