OK I probably am being horrible but I couldn't help but laugh hearing that people are calling Ulrika Johnson 4 X 4 - aparently it has really upset her.

OP posts:
rebelmum1 · 12/12/2007 12:36

well i thought it was funny too nametaken but then I'm only a 1x1 and have obviously made better decisions and been luckier than UJ

rebelmum1 · 12/12/2007 12:37

what was the second DS?

MsSparklingXmasTree · 12/12/2007 12:39

"WRT Ulrika, I think it's pathetic that people are willing to slag someone off who has fallen for the wrong men, thought they were going to be wonderful, had a child and been fucked over/dumped/had to leave because they were tossers."

"I'm sure all the threads I've been on where MNers are slagging off their exes everyone has been in agreement that their exs really are cocks, not calling the women for making the bad judgement in the first place."

That's what i was trying say. If Ulrika wasn't famous and came on mn as a normal mum and started a thread about how her exs are cocks and how she has had a rough time, you would all be in symperthy with her and wouldn't call her a 4x4.

I mentioned Eddie Murphy because he has has 7 kids by 3 different women yet that's ok because he's a man. No one calls him a 7x3 do they.

DanaScully · 12/12/2007 12:40

The second was when the XmasTree screeched "stop defending your DISCUSTING behaviour" (for laughing at ole' 4x4 who frankly, is a fairly laughable bit of fluff ) at UniversallyChallenged

ho ho ho

DanaScully · 12/12/2007 12:41

Yeah but... 7x3 is not really all that catchy and amusing is it...

DanaScully · 12/12/2007 12:41

(Hey up, she's screeching again.. )

MsSparklingXmasTree · 12/12/2007 12:44

Oh dear

DanaScully · 12/12/2007 12:45

Oh dear indeed

rebelmum1 · 12/12/2007 12:46

True but surely after 2 you'd start to have a rethink about your search criteria. No one can be that unlucky can they?

MsSparklingXmasTree · 12/12/2007 12:47

The discusting behavoiur was when someone said you "deserve" what you get when you put yourself out there not because your laughing at 4x4!

bahKewcHumbug · 12/12/2007 12:47

Are we including Rod Stewart too? Pretty sure I've seen him and various of his wives in hello. He's 7x3 too

rebelmum1 · 12/12/2007 12:48

..who are all the fathers? Might be quite a bonus from a maintenance perspective ..

DanaScully · 12/12/2007 12:50

It's DISGUSTING.. with a g.. not a c

rebelmum1 · 12/12/2007 12:53

well if you strive for celebrity, and are only really famous for your affairs then one is pretty deluded if you think only nice, kind things will be printed about you.

rebelmum1 · 12/12/2007 12:54

then again I do make better decisions that UJ and not being famous is one of them too

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 12/12/2007 12:55

4X4 itself, is quite a funny nickname, but her situation isn't.

MsSparklingXmasTree · 12/12/2007 13:10

Who cares if it's a 'c' or a 'g', this is an internet forum not an exam for a degree. I never understand why people get so irate about silly spelling mistakes on here because it really doesn't matter.

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 12/12/2007 13:10

It does!!

UniversallyChallenged · 12/12/2007 13:14

So sparkling if someone courts publicity, gets paid massive amounts for it and parades her latest clone-a-like for all to see, we should all just say "ooh how loverly, she's found true happiness" ? And if we dont say that and have our own POV then we are disgusting - is that what you are saying?

bahKewcHumbug · 12/12/2007 13:37

personally I couldn't summon up the enthusiasm to read Hello or be interested in Ms Johnson and her family, I am entirely unsupportive of her and her position (not knowing her from a hole in the ground).

I do object on principle to the slagging off of female celebrity for the men they sleep with and the number of children they have with each (generally both being in single figures) with teh deathly silence in judgement of male celebrities in similar position unless their totals are vying for position in the Guiness book of records.

So shoot me for judging us as a group of women being every bit as sexist as a lot of men out there.

blueshoes · 12/12/2007 13:47

yes, kew, bet there are loads more 4x4s amongst men than woman. They get away with it because paternity is a lot less obvious and the children tend to end up with the mothers.

I did laugh though, for a moment.

BTW, Ulrika does a lot of fund raising for the heart charity my dd also belongs to. One of Ulrika's dds has a complex heart condition.

Agreed. That's what i am saying, it like a woman can do the exact same thing as man yet she is criticised for it and labled for it.

rebelmum1 · 12/12/2007 13:54

I don't think that women should try to be like the negative male role models at all. I don't think that's what feminism is about tbh

bahKewcHumbug · 12/12/2007 14:12

I agree rebelmum1 - I'm not suggesting for a second that we should be applauding UJ for her lifestyle. but berating her for it and not men in in even worse (in my view) positions. She has all her children lvining with her and supports them all as far as I know (which isn't much).

Am not without a sense of humour 4x4 is catchy (though tbh honest didn't really make me laugh). It just persistently dpresses me how women so eagerly perpetuate the double standard.

bahKewcHumbug · 12/12/2007 14:14

obviously I'm biased as inevitably all of my children will have different fathers (if I have more than one )
