OK I probably am being horrible but I couldn't help but laugh hearing that people are calling Ulrika Johnson 4 X 4 - aparently it has really upset her.

I don't think it's hugely funny at all.

And jack Nicholson, the stud, was quoted in the paper at the weekend saying he may have father up to 2000 children, but he will only admit to 3 of them Oh yea, that will earn him great respect

SueBaRoomForAMincePie · 11/12/2007 13:20

And I do think it's a bit off in this day and age, when you really can have no idea how children have been conceived and in what circumstance (and it really isn't anyones business anyway and never was), to make Judgey McJudge comments on the origin of someone's progeny.

It's just such an odd thing to get sniffy about when the very next thread/article/conversation with a normal person is all about free choices and so on.

How does having 4 different children by 4 different fathers automoatically put her in the category of at least 'questionable mother'.

Just getting things off my chest now and veering off-topic. I just think there's a whole lot of having their cake and eating it about this sort of thing.

We want to have a modern, open, tolerant society, but we still want to be able to sneer at 'women of loose virtue' or some such cobblers.

WendyWeber · 11/12/2007 13:20

well, 2 out of 4 anyway - I just googled

Jade (Bianca Jagger)
Karis (Marsha Hunt)
4 with Jerry Hall
Lucas (Luciana Morad)

And does he get slagged off in the tabloids?

3JinglesandnoBells · 11/12/2007 13:21

it's werid how it seems different for men and women....of course it's so much easier for men to turn their backs on their children...

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 11/12/2007 13:21

Keith Allen was on top gear the other night too, talking about how many children he may or may not have.

JingleBelgoHoHoHo · 11/12/2007 13:24

TinyTim, I turned off when I saw that

bananaknickers · 11/12/2007 13:24

I don't like her at all to be honest and I don't know why. But she is not a slag and I agree with the others/ I feel sorry for her. I think she is as insecure as the rest of us sometimes and it has led her to make the wrong life choices. Who called her that anyway?

3JinglesandnoBells · 11/12/2007 13:24

I know that my mum was probably the one judged, because she wasn't even married to my father and never did marry him (thank god for her) whilst really, he was the tart, not her....I have no idea how many half siblings I have, could be anyhting from 2 to hundreds....but of course it was my mum that was seen as immoral and that load of stuff....

SueBaRoomForAMincePie · 11/12/2007 13:24

Hmm, let's think of something equally demeaning and pithy about Jagger. Cock-for-brains works for me..

3JinglesandnoBells · 11/12/2007 13:26

lol sue, that one would stand for pretty much most men, lol....

disclaimer: of course I know there aer decent men out there...but a lot do seem to think with their "Winkie"

mumblechum · 11/12/2007 13:28

Agree with others, v. nasty.

I quite like UJ, she's a "just get on with it " type person.

ggirlsbells · 11/12/2007 13:30

at least she's stuck by her children, more than we can say for 3 of the fathers

WendyWeber · 11/12/2007 13:35

Oh no, the first father is an angel by all accounts - he has always been there for her and all the children I think.

Second one was the total shit.

And I think she kicked Lance into touch, didn't she?

4th one - give the guy a chance

minouminou · 11/12/2007 13:35

Or keith allen, on top gear, looking quite pleased with himself over having 6 kids with 4 different women...
no judgements going on there, i noticed
nice

minouminou · 11/12/2007 13:36

oooh...someone pipped me! ah well!

JingleBelgoHoHoHo · 11/12/2007 13:37

he wasn't even sure how many children he has

SueBaRoomForAMincePie · 11/12/2007 13:39

It's because testosterone has magical properties which deflect any judgement particles floating about. So even if we were to think that Keith Allen, was, say, feckless twat, it would simply drop to the ground a few metres away from him.

Like those bullets in The Matrix.

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 11/12/2007 13:40

I think Ulrika's quite brave to have a fourth child with anybody - three is enough for me
I don't think Keith Allan would be much of a role model for anyone and as for Mick Jagger - well of course there was that thing with the scary maternity nurse.....

Peachy · 11/12/2007 13:40

I'm a 4X!, without a career or a penny to my own name therefore hell of less stable over rocky ground and in constant risk of ending up in a ditch than she in a 4X4 who has had the nouse to put a bit of security by

Good on her

Peachy · 11/12/2007 13:43

3jingles MIL has somewhere between 1 and 8 siblings depending on whose story you listen to (we think 8) and then peolpe criticise her Mum for running away from her Dad!! (dad then popped kids into ahome for a year- but hey was Mum's fault, no? )

bumposaurus · 11/12/2007 13:44

I think YAB (highly) U...and pretty unpleasant actually. I have no feelings about UJ either way (because I don't know her) but I do empathise with her situation because I personally have three children by two different fathers (my exh walked out when our youngest child was a week old)and I have been lucky enough to meet someone else who has taken us on as a family, to which we have now added...This may make me a woman of loose virtue, in which case smirk away, or it may just make me someone who has not had the good fortune you have had of falling in love with someone who is not a jerk...

contentiouscat · 11/12/2007 13:48

Politically incorrect - but personally I find it amusing...the op was always going to get framed for this though

I cant imagine she is upset though it really isnt the worse thing thats ever been said about her. I saw Carol Vordermann on TV once laughing about the fact that when you googled mutton dressed as lamb she came up - if you cant cope with the criticism then perhaps TV is not the place for you...which is why I wouldnt do it for all the tea in china.

I grew to quite like Ulrika from reading her newspaper column but she does tend to RUSH into relationship/marriage/baby...then sure as night follows day it all goes pear shaped. Good luck to her I hope it works out this time.

3JinglesandnoBells · 11/12/2007 13:52

Peachy, it's weird how it's always the women that gets the blame and gets the finger pointed at...

TenLordsaLapin · 11/12/2007 13:54

YEP, YABU and horrible

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 11/12/2007 13:54

3jingles - the woman always gets the blame as with children draped round her she can't move as fast as the blokes - they move too fast for it to stick
