Woman driving at protesters

ivykaty44 · 17/10/2021 15:43

The woman driving at protestors this week in the news, in a range rover that it turns out, isn’t taxed, hasn’t got a valid MOT & therefore insurance

Should have it impounded as she’s driving it illegally to take her son to school AIBU to think you can’t driving round illegally and then shout at protestors blocking the road - regardless of the rights or wrongs of the protestors or how annoying she may find them

Hell mend them. If you're going to jump out in front of moving vehicles, vehicles are going to hit you. Beyond stupidity.

EdgeOfTheSky · 19/10/2021 21:52

@PinkSparklyPussyCat

But how can it be OK for anyone to deliberately drive a huge powerful vehicle into a human being?

How can it be ok for protestors to block ambulances and decide that the person in the ambulance is collateral damage? While she shouldn’t have deliberately driven at them I will have no sympathy of one of the idiots gets run over. My sympathy would be with the driver.

It isn’t OK to block ambulances etc.

That is why the police should deal with them.

But their reprehensible immoral behaviour does not make it ok for Range Rover drivers to take potentially lethal vigilante action.

I agree: it will be horrific if some innocent driver comes round a corner and hits one of these idiots sitting in the road. No one would want to have that experience, however idiotic the dead or injured person was.

Surely.

Dollyparton3 · 19/10/2021 21:53

Surely she moved her car forward, the car that was being blocked by a woman's back whilst she tried to protest and block the road.

If I read about someone driving at someone I envisage them being 20-100 yards away and accelerating at them at point blank range. This was very angry nudging but she didn't drive at her, the protestor was already there

Sunset999 · 19/10/2021 21:53

Id try and run them over too.....

I saw this today. She's a bloody legend. I'd like to buy her a drink! 😬 I don't give a shit if she's not taxed!

Dojacatpaws · 19/10/2021 22:32

I don't give a shit if she's not taxed either, she shouldn't be trying to maim people, just so she can get her kid to school

BeckyWithTheGoodHair010101 · 19/10/2021 22:36

And these utter twats protestors shouldn't be glueing themselves to the road inconveniencing everyone. I'm glad motorists are starting lose patience.

Indeed. She wasn’t driving at them at speed in order to injure them. She was trying to make them move without injuring them. Like a game of chicken.

Dojacatpaws · 20/10/2021 08:17

Yes just a harmless game, driving 1.5 tonnes of metal at someone, how would she feel if it was her son or mother

I wonder how the protester would feel if their mother was paralyzed because the roads were blocked.

Neither is great but we know the lesser of the two evils here as no one was actually hurt. The protests are racking up quite a few serious consequences now.

The protesters should not be there then, causing massive chaos to everyone, they are risking people's lives if ambulances or other cannot get through, if they are in the way id drive at them too, good on her
lljkk · 20/10/2021 08:37

Climate change doesn't hurt anyone. No one at all. Not our children or grand children or great-grand children or... 🤷

Sunset999 · 20/10/2021 08:37

No but idiots blocking the road hurt people?

BelleOfTheProvince · 20/10/2021 08:39

They are not tackling climate change. They are anarchists. The only impact they have on climate change is adding to emissions.
EdgeOfTheSky · 20/10/2021 08:42

The woman who drove forwards into the protestors in front of her, pushing their bodies with her vehicle, was NOT driving an ambulance or in any other health or life threatening situation.

It is not her job to take vigilante action.

And whether they should be in the road or not (they shouldn’t!) it is not ok, or legal, to deliberately drive a vehicle into them.

Sunset999 · 20/10/2021 08:44

Its not but its not ok to block vehicles such as ambulances and cause people to die, or not receive urgent treatment which these idiots have done.

user1000000000009 · 20/10/2021 08:46

People have missed job interviews, kids have missed school, people missing hospital appointments, people who need immediate care, ambulances, police, fire engines all can't get through. I'm not surprised people are running them over

Surely blocking roads with all the cars, hgvs and busses will be polluting the environment more with the fumes.

I saw a video of a pedestrian tie a protester to a railing with his banner to keep him off the road.

HintofVintagePink · 20/10/2021 09:06

Do all the protestors walk to the protest site or take carbon neutral transport? I also wonder this…/

Moonmelodies · 20/10/2021 09:10

The climate will continue to change whether the traffic is blocked or not.
Dojacatpaws · 20/10/2021 09:50

And plenty of people take other modes of transport to work and school etc and are not affectedby road protests. Flooding, protests, car accidents, road works, all these things can block the roads. This woman's self righteous anger was not because ambulances are being held up, she was pissed off because she was being held up, car drivers get so angry when their journey is affected

BelleOfTheProvince · 20/10/2021 10:02

Flooding, protests, car accidents, road works, all these things can block the roads.

Only one of these things in deliberate and avoidable.

The protesters are a disgrace not a disaster.
