Woman driving at protesters

ivykaty44 · 17/10/2021 15:43

The woman driving at protestors this week in the news, in a range rover that it turns out, isn’t taxed, hasn’t got a valid MOT & therefore insurance

Should have it impounded as she’s driving it illegally to take her son to school AIBU to think you can’t driving round illegally and then shout at protestors blocking the road - regardless of the rights or wrongs of the protestors or how annoying she may find them

@Dojacatpaws

You can't go around running people over because they annoy you
If they were stopping me getting to an emergency, I wouldn't hesitate They made their choice I'd make mine Selfish Fucking Idiots
Dojacatpaws · 20/10/2021 10:19

They were not stopping ranty car driver woman from getting to an emergency though.

Dojacatpaws · 20/10/2021 10:20

Belle, roads get blocked all the time, why get so angry about it

They said `if` I'd do the same TBH, pain in the arse, protest all they want but don't disrupt everyone else Selfish fuckers
PennyPooBags · 20/10/2021 10:35

Maybe Range-Rover woman should get out of her massive car and find a more eco-friendly method of travel.

No but i totally understand why she did it, these people are idiots and deserve to get hassle
anon12345678901 · 20/10/2021 10:39

@Dojacatpaws

Yes just a harmless game, driving 1.5 tonnes of metal at someone, how would she feel if it was her son or mother
Then she may consider not sitting in the road.
BelleOfTheProvince · 20/10/2021 11:03

Because it's harming others unnecessarily. These idiots made us late for our medical appointment the other day. Months and months of waiting for it and the NHS are behind anyway. We were the first appointment so our appointment overan and would have impacted on lots of vulnerable children.

Dojacatpaws · 20/10/2021 11:37

So what would you have done if the road had been flooded, get angry with the water? Or find another way to your appointment?

BelleOfTheProvince · 20/10/2021 11:43

Don't be ridiculous. Flooding is an act of God.
Pathetic really how you skip over damage to the people that need medical help to prioritize an able bodied Wally who sits in the road.
Mind you, if they did get permanently injured they'd end up in the queue for the physio too in a kind of karmic irony.

Seeing as how the leaders of xr and ib drive gas guzzlers I don't think this is the moral high ground you think it is.
Dojacatpaws · 20/10/2021 12:01

Belle, yes an act of God, but wouldn't you have found a way around, all this vitriol and anger seems a bit pointless

yorkshirebloke1 · 20/10/2021 12:01

I would be interested to know how these IB people would react to a group of non violent protestors, on public land, blocking entrance to their houses?

Dojacatpaws · 20/10/2021 12:05

Have peoples houses been blocked? They are blocking roads not pathways.

I could say the same thing about the protests.

And they actually are pointless.

I don't give a fuck if they get run over. They have no right to be disrupting other people's lives like this. Getting run over is a consequence of sitting in the road and drivers owe them only the same level of consideration that they are receiving - none.
Of course this wouldn't be a problem if the police did the job they were paid for and hauled their arses out of the road.

Dojacatpaws · 20/10/2021 12:32

Harriet they are only blocking the road if you drive, there are other ways to travel

Dojacatpaws · 20/10/2021 12:37

wishing death on someone because they block the road? car drivers are an angry bunch

Back to this again. Buses would be blocked too and many people don't live in walking distance to a train station.

They're not just blocking people driving in unnecessary journeys. Food and medicine haulage as has fuel are being effected.

People who don't need cars tend to live in areas with good transport links. A better use of their time would be raising the funds for these.

Don't have a car is a really poor argument spouted by those with a very limited (and lucky) experience.

Not for everyone there isn't

This. I would be annoyed if I were trying to get somewhere quickly, but the lack of self-awareness is something to behold.

I agree car drivers are an angry bunch. The posters on here saying they think she is right to drive at protesters is really worrying.

Glitterybug · 20/10/2021 12:41

Yeah Harriet, get the bus... Oh wait ... Hmm

Aderyn21 · 20/10/2021 12:41

Blocking the road doesn't only inconvenience people though, it can be the difference between someone becoming paralysed or not, a child getting an operation or being in pain for longer because their surgeon can't get to work, earning the money that keeps a roof over your family's head (esp if self employed), it can literally be the difference between living and dying.
Those nutters don't have the right to make those choices for other people.
