Please tell me this is just an evap line?

Been feeling ‘pregnant’ all week, same muscle issues, gas and general exhaustion as my other pregnancy’s. Assumed I was mental as I have the implant and 2 under 2 at home already.

Took a first response tonight just to put my mind at ease and there is a very faint pink line. It’s clearer in person but these are the best pics I can get without natural light!

You have the implant though. That is artificial hormones that cause side effects.

From the NHS website side effects include

you may experience temporary side effects during the first few months, like headaches, nausea, breast tenderness and mood swings

For the first few months being the operative words. Maybe you're feeling side effects of your implant rather than feeling pregnant. Also can't believe you got a gp appt either.

highstreetdiestreet · 16/10/2021 15:05

How many dpo are you OP?

Didyeaye · 16/10/2021 15:07

@JetRocket I think if I was you I’d seek medical advice. Call nhs24?
One sided tummy pain can be a symptom of ectopic pregnancy (guessing you know that from google!) and in my mind it’s better to be safe then sorry.

highstreetdiestreet · 16/10/2021 15:11

I would go to an early pregnancy unit and ask to get scanned

More money spent by the NHS when there has been nothing but pics of negative tests so far
Didyeaye · 16/10/2021 15:16

@AliceinBorderland in your opinion…I mean I can clearly see lines, particularly on the latest pic.
Don’t know why you’re so concerned about NHS money really - unless you’re holding the purse strings for OP’s local maternity services.

AliceinBorderland · 16/10/2021 15:21

The trouble with these threads is that 50% see it and 50% don't.

The OP has had a blood test. Why would she go to an epu before waiting for the blood result that will answer it?!

JetRocket · 16/10/2021 15:21

I have no idea how many DPO, I’ve had no periods since birth due to breast feeding.

@AliceinBorderland oh I know and I’ve had other symptoms since having it which I just shrugged and said ‘probably the implant’ but I can’t find reports anywhere of the implant causing multiple faintly positive pregnancy tests.

I rang 111 and will be getting a call back within the next few hours. It’s not awful pain but it’s getting steadily worse. I worry about ectopic pregnancy a lot.

OP posts:
ReeseWitherfork · 16/10/2021 15:22

@AliceinBorderland how are they negative? There's clearly a second line on multiple tests? Or do you mean that you can't see the lines?

AliceinBorderland · 16/10/2021 15:22

Less than 1 pregnancy per year on Nexplanon efficacy of over 99% makes it vanishingly unlikely

JetRocket · 16/10/2021 15:24

@AliceinBorderland

Fwiw my NHS use is exceptionally low outside of pregnancy so I don’t feel any guilt for using when needed

OP posts:
JetRocket · 16/10/2021 15:25

@AliceinBorderland

It is crazy unlikely. That’s what the GP said, then I showed him the tests and he said they looked positive… someone has to be that one person I suppose.

OP posts:
kirinm · 16/10/2021 15:27

If you do end up going into EPU you'll have blood tests 48 hours apart to see if your HCG levels are rising properly. With that level of faintness of lines they'd not be able to see anything on a scan.

The tests look positive to me OP but very early on. I'm sorry this isn't the result you were hoping for.

Didyeaye · 16/10/2021 15:28

@AliceinBorderland because OP is experiencing pain and is concerned about ectopic pregnancy?
I think you’ve got the odds a bit confused. It’s not less than one pregnancy per year! It’s less than one in 100 women. Which makes it unlikely but not vanishingly so.

This. Unlikely, but it does happen.

Treaclepie19 · 16/10/2021 15:38

You shouldn't feel guilty at all OP. Hope all is okay.

SunsetSmartmeter · 16/10/2021 15:43

@JetRocket

Don't give the issue of using NHS resources a thought. That's what it's there for. You have a contraceptive implant, you have had multiple positive pregnancy tests (that even I can see) & you are experiencing abdominal pain. According to the NHS this is a situation in which you should seek help & advice, which is what you are doing. Better to be safe than sorry.

The risk of pregnancy when on the implant is very low, but as you say there has to be somebody it happens to. Evaporation lines only come up outside the testing time frame, & it would be unlikely to get multiple evaporation lines on multiple tests. I don't say this to upset you, it's just the truth. Better to be informed.

Good luck with 111. I hope the pain eases soon Thanks

Saoirse82 · 16/10/2021 15:50

@AliceinBorderland if you can't see the lines you've either got a shit phone or shit eye sight.
OP, you can get an evap line on a frer but you wouldn't get one on every test and certainly not within the time frame. The clear blues are notoriously bad for evap lines but i wouldn't expect to see an evap on every one of those either. At this stage you can't rule out a chemical and I think if the line isn't a fair bit darker tomorrow that may be a real possibility Flowers

Bluskyenonstop · 16/10/2021 16:06

I can definitely see positive lines OP.
I spent most of my younhood and my money on pregnancy tests and peering at them, through various lights even taking them apart to make sure it is not positive inside!

Silversun83 · 16/10/2021 16:35

Glad you're seeking help, OP. Hopefully you'll get some definitive answers soon and have a way forward.

I can see lines on most of your pictures and the last one looks very much like the first one I had with DC2. FWIW, I spent around a year TTC DC1 and took way too many a test. I examined each and every one in many lights and never ever had a line.

Silversun83 · 16/10/2021 16:35

That wasn't my pregnancy I mean!

SudokuWillNotSaveYou · 16/10/2021 17:38

@JetRocket I mentioned the risk of ectopic yesterday and see you’ve mentioned a pain now today. I see you’re waiting for a call from 111 and hopefully they’ve called back by now but please don’t wait about with this. It just can go bad so quickly and I’ve two friends (maybe just bad luck?) get sepsis from ectopic pregnancies.

ReginaaPhalange · 16/10/2021 17:40

The frers looked exactly like how mine did when they were negative. They are notorious for their indents! I really don't trust them and they were the same when I did get my bfp on a clear blue digital. In fact, I never ever got a bfp on a frer and I'm currently 25 weeks tomorrow.

Im concerned about the pain you've got though so I hope you get a call back soon.

Please tell me this is just an evap line?

I can see lines too.

highstreetdiestreet · 16/10/2021 17:44

It’s not awful pain but it’s getting steadily worse.

Which is why I think you're doing all the right things and using the NHS for its intended purpose.

Don't let posters put you off getting help when you need it.
