Been feeling ‘pregnant’ all week, same muscle issues, gas and general exhaustion as my other pregnancy’s. Assumed I was mental as I have the implant and 2 under 2 at home already.

Took a first response tonight just to put my mind at ease and there is a very faint pink line. It’s clearer in person but these are the best pics I can get without natural light!

In all honesty the light tests and pain do concern me about this being an ectopic. I think you need to go to EPU. You could be 6 weeks+ for all you know, and need a scan.

DontWantTheRivalry · 17/10/2021 08:18

You can’t be that worried then.

If I genuinely thought I had an ectopic pregnancy which can easily become very serious very quickly I would be finding any way possible to attend an appointment - even if that meant ruining my mum’s plans. And I’m pretty sure my mum wouldn’t care at all if my need for her ruined her plans if it was for something potentially as serious as this.

For what it’s worth, although I can see lines, I would expect a very obvious dark line by now if a pregnancy was progressing as it should.

However, I’m no expert on ectopics and whether that can affect the strength of the lines, and if it is the case that you have one then you need to go and get a scan, whatever it takes.

Steady on! Don't you think OP's got quite enough on without randomers on Mumsnet trying to guilt her into what they consider to be the correct course of action?
DontWantTheRivalry · 17/10/2021 08:28

I want tying to guilt her, I’m just baffled if she’s panicked that she’s got an ectopic, which she says she has, that she isn’t doing whatever it takes to get a scan.

And it isn’t my opinion of what is the best course of action, it is the general consensus of all the replies, including the OP.

OP knows her own circumstances better than anyone. Minimising her worries by saying that unless she's doing what you would do, she can't be 'that' worried, is unkind and, frankly, manipulative.

Then I apologise to her because that wasn’t my intention. I just think it’s really important she gets checked out - my friend had an ectopic and it was very serious so that’s probably why I feel strongly about it.

Apologies OP if my post came across badly, I didn’t mean it to, and I do hope you find a way to get to a scan and that it turns out to be okay.

AnnunciataZ · 17/10/2021 09:11

@JetRocket

Hopefully results back Monday or Tuesday.

I really hope I’m not, the stakes feel so high. I was very unwell in my other two pregnancies and spent a lot of time in and out of hospital and basically useless. I think my DH’s job would be at risk going through another pregnancy having to look after our other kids with me sick all the time.

I’d probably not be able to return to my own job. I’ve not been there in over two years now anyway due to back to back maternity leave. We’d probably have to downsize our house for affordability. It would derail our lives significantly.

I can't see a line myself but if you are pregnant it's still very early and remember that you have choices. Good luck OP.

I'm guessing you know nothing about how an ectopic is actually diagnosed. If there's barely a line on a test, a scan won't show anything at all.
ThirdElephant · 17/10/2021 09:49

If it helps, OP, there are multiple things that can cause a false positive on pregnancy tests- certain conditions (including UTIs, apparently) and pharmaceuticals. So it still might not be a pregnancy.

I took one of the clear blue digital early detection tests and it’s negative I think I’m now pretty confident it’s negative tbh.

The pain in my side is still there and has gotten slightly worse but it’s still not awful. I think dealing with my 2 under 2 is making it worse tbh

Hi op, I don't have time to read through the entire post but here's a photo of my tests up until yesterday morning. AF started last night so pretty sure this was a chemical 😞. Hope that is helpful in some way

Please tell me this is just an evap line?
MyPatronusIsACat · 17/10/2021 14:20

SIGH another one of these.

@JetRocket

That is a NEGATIVE pregnancy test.

Hopefully it doesn't get much worse and your bloods come back quickly tomorrow. Just look after yourself (whatever that looks like with two little ones) x
JetRocket · 17/10/2021 14:48

@MyPatronusIsACat

I don’t think there’s much need for that is there? I literally showed the earlier tests to a GP who said in his opinion that was a positive. Doesn’t help to make women feel irrational for being concerned.

Or are you more medically qualified to comment on the status of a pregnancy test than a GP?

OP posts:
JetRocket · 17/10/2021 15:09

@Sunnytimes21

Ah I’m so sorry, that’s basically the same as my tests have done so maybe the same thing.

Either way I now feel like I’m about to get a period so I’ll just wait. At least I’ll find out if it was a chemical as surely my HCG will have been elevated on the blood tests.

ReginaaPhalange · 17/10/2021 15:52

@JetRocket did you call 111 back or go over to hospital for the pain?

sleepyhoglet · 17/10/2021 16:28

Sorry it's not what you want to hear. I think you need to get to the gP as being pregnant with implant could be harmful but also wtf?! You got contraception so this wouldn't happen

ohtwatbollocks · 17/10/2021 16:56

I hope you're okay OP, I got pregnant with the implant in when I was younger and had a termination because it was the right decision for me, regardless of what you want(which I hope you get the end result you want!) I hope you're not in danger from an ectopic, look after yourself, if you do get more pain go to a and e Thanks

Flowersintheattic2021 · 17/10/2021 20:02

Where is your pain. Right or left sided. Left sided is trapped wind and constipation. Right side could be appendicitis

Flowersintheattic2021 · 17/10/2021 20:02

Ectopic u get shoulder pain

You say that. My DH is a GP and I know more about pregnancy tests than him.

yomlette · 17/10/2021 21:35

Really hoping it all works out, OP. I'm TTC and until now had never had an evap line. Tried an FRER for the first time in ages the other day (was my birthday and wanted to check if I could have a drink) and got this. Retested later and it was stark white so must have been an evap. Annoying about these dodgy batches but hoping that's what's behind yours Flowers

Id like to see these line eye threads banned. They either give people false hope or a lot of stress if they dont want to be pregnant. In OPs case she will be relieved. So thats good. So all these idiots piling in with I can see a line when there was no line to be seen caused unnecessary angst. If you can't see a line either its too early to test or you are not pregnant. Its not rocket science.
