Not a wish list btw.
I'm mid thirties and I think I will see the end of:
Petrol and diesel cars
Cows milk (majority drinking soy/oat)
Pork being eaten by most
Smoking (that's hopeful)
People casually throwing around comments about people's weight
Royal family
Legacy benefits :(
Landline telephones
Desktop computers
A lot of pubs :( :(

I’m not sure about landlines. I know the vast majority of people don’t use them, but I have family on the Isle of Wight who can’t manage without them as the mobile signal is still very poor. So we’re stuck needing our landline as well.

But I do think there will be no more:
Petrol driven cars
Gas boilers
Smoking (hopefully)
Printed newspapers
Cash/ATM machines
Desktop computers

And yes, I do believe there will be no more United Kingdom.

Safe spaces for women and girls.

The idea that it’s unacceptable to rent a woman’s body for sex or surrogacy.

Please tell me you are taking the piss.
Zilla1 · 07/10/2021 21:59

IMO there is a non-trivial probability there would be no human race in my statistically-expected lifetime.

Bitcoin unless they change the validation method.

A whole raft of things due to climate change...

Certain foods / products will not be able to be mass produced so will either not be available or be expensive.

Traditional working patterns in the UK. We will have to adopted to a more European approach with breaks during midday heat and during heatwaves

Cheap air travel.

Existing birth rates. We are already seeing young people opt out of having children, this will only continue as evidence of what is coming becomes more wide spread and alarming.

Ultimately peace time.

comedycentral · 07/10/2021 22:39

We will see the extinction of many, many, many more species of animals and plants.

Climate change will be at the point of no return.

Bertiebiscuit · 07/10/2021 22:40

Blokey pubs
Smoking seen as acceptable
High heels
Men peeing in phone boxes and lifts
Dog poo left in public places
Nose picking in public
Not washing hands after using the toilet
Shaking hands
Women eating out alone being treated badly

Bertiebiscuit · 07/10/2021 22:42

How nasty - what is wrong with you, people not eating meat or burning petrol to get around are surely signs of people much nicer and kinder than you are

disconnected101 · 07/10/2021 23:27

Hopefully HIV.
I hope too, given recent development of a vaccine, malaria infections will take a massive knock but I don't think it'll be eradicated

Why? Other parts of the world are hot but people just carry on regardless. How hot do you think it is going to get in the UK?

theDudesmummy · 08/10/2021 03:42

I am rewatching my way through Seinfeld (late 80s/early 90s) as it is all on Netflix now. It is interesting how much of the humour/how many of the situations just wouldn't work now. People answering a phone call that wasn't meant for them ( no mobile phones or even cordless only the tethered landline phone in the flat). People missing each other because they didn't arrange a meet up properly. People lining up in the cafe or bar to use the phone. No Internet so many opportunities for things to go wrong/ not be understood which just couldn't happen now. People wondering and pondering about all kinds of things and arguing about stuff that today would be settled with a 10 second Google. Makes you wonder how different things will be in another 30 years.

LHReturns · 08/10/2021 03:53

Compliments in any professional context.
Daring to touch someone at work in an affectionate or congratulatory manner.
Asking people to work beyond their contracted hours.
Work being a fun place to be.

To be fair, there are many MN threads about things that could be figured out in about ten seconds with help fro google.

Other parts of the world have air conditioning.

Insert1x20p · 08/10/2021 04:32

Except UK probably won't be warmer in a 3 degree scenario. It will be slightly cooler and wetter due to interruption to the Gulf Stream. You'll see more extremes (i.e. brief summer heatwaves) but also likely to have more summers like the last one.

gofg · 08/10/2021 05:11

Other parts of the world have air conditioning.

Then surely the UK will have to get air conditioning also!
