As the title suggests really. I was wondering today what other people do and for how many hours a week to earn £20,000-£30,000 per year? I like having a glimpse into other people's worlds 🙂

Social worker - part time. If I was full time it would be just above that range.

Orangejuicemarathoner · 05/10/2021 22:37

teacher - term time 60-90 hours a week, out of term time 10-20 hours per week

At my workplace the second level of admin/finance/HR etc. staff are in that bracket. Not masses of responsibility but some requirement to use own discretion and handle stuff alone, opften with customer service element. The roles that pay less than £20k are ones where it is all about following a set process and only doing back room stuff.

I earned this as a junior/ mid-level PA (London).

Ok I am a teacher. I earn in that range. I work 3 days a week, 8.30 - 3.30. 21 hours a week. And never holidays (13 weeks a year).
It has taken me over 10 years, but no-one should be working 90 hours for under £30k!

MonkeyPuddle · 05/10/2021 22:54

Admin and finance manager for charities and not for profits - contracted for 3.5 days and earn about 23k total (3 p/t jobs), I do extra hours every week, like most people. Been doing this for 30 yrs, was f/t for the first 20 hrs.
