Juggling. Woman's load. Having too much on my plate.

All 3 things are the same thing.

TattySlippers · 07/10/2021 14:34

There was no need to mention their age or weight, both are irrelevant. Would it be OK if she’d said they were black or Jewish

They were definitely elderly and overweight. Would you have been offended if I described a teenager as being a teenager? The people I described, using perfectly acceptable descriptive words, were not black. Would there be a problem describing a black person as being black if they were?

Whether they were Jewish or not I wouldn’t know. Nobody can see somebody’s religion just by looking at them.

There are also some young people, elderly people, white people, black people, slim people, people with disabilities using the pool too. They don’t cause a problem, or bring attention to themselves, as they are doing what the pool is intended for - swimming. It beats me why the same group block off the pool every day just to stand around talking.

You didn’t need to describe them. Five women or five people would have worked. The same group of five people would have been even better. Doubling down with a dubious defence and disingenuously pretending to miss the point just makes it worse.

Having just walked past a group of workmen who were trying to attract my attention and then loudly called me an old bat after I had walked past, I would say moronic behaviour.

Acunningruse · 07/10/2021 14:44

People at work giving me their email address and prefacing it by saying 'now this is all lower case...' of course it is! All email addresses are!!! How have you not realised this?!

MmeD · 07/10/2021 15:36

Trying to understand the following:

how such clever and expensively educated members of the elite can think and say peculiarly stupid things.

how seemingly perfectly ordinary men can live endlessly respectable lives complete with loving family - and then suddenly carry out unspeakably evil acts.

Very tired of obsessing about these questions but somehow I cannot stop.

Got it miss. Thank you!

Thank God there are people like you around to make sure everyone else falls in line. Whatever would we do without you?

That being said the elderly, overweight group of 5 women (six today) take the place of 5 (6 today) people who want to use the pool to swim. Those lucky enough to book a very limited space have to cram into another lane so the group of elderly, overweight women can stand stationary, gossiping.

If you take offence with “overweight”, “elderly” or “women” being descriptive words then that is your problem. Get over it!

The lies that Boris Johnson and his team continue to tell us!

Napkins under cakes. Slightly missing the point of the napkin, which is now covered in cake gunk...

Yes absolutely @Juleha!
Skysblue · 10/10/2021 18:25

Drag.

YearsSinceISawYou · 10/10/2021 18:54

@TackyJewellery

Fat, middle-aged white men swimming really fucking slowly in the ‘medium’ lane at the swimming pool and holding everyone else up.
Would it be ok if they were fat, middle-aged black men?
TirednWorried · 10/10/2021 19:37

What if fhey are fat middle-aged women? Do they annoy you too?

nopuppiesallowed · 10/10/2021 19:56

@Skysblue

Drag.
Completely agree. A man dressed as a woman in a panto is fine because there are no sexual overtones (not in the pantos I've been to!) but men in drag in other scenarios just give me the shudders!
lioncitygirl · 10/10/2021 20:02

The people blocking the fucking roads these days. Insulate Britain or that other stupid group Extinction something.
