Raising awareness is one thing, but some people almost 'collect' conditions/disorders just to be able to identify as oppressed. I've seen this mainly online, but it's spilling over into real life too.

Yes and I think it can edge out those who have conditions but don’t feel up to going on about it all the time and publicly labelling themselves with it. I have a family member who’s a “condition-collector” and it really seems to me that their problem is a dysfunctional childhood and low self-esteem, meaning they constantly need a new diagnosis or identity to be praised for “opening up” about. I sometimes wonder if identity-collecting will become a diagnosable disorder in itself, and if so, will they add that to the list of disorders as well, or not because it would negate the other ones?

@Thulian

The phrase ‘working people’ used by politicians.

Yes I always thinks this too and also just as often they say “hard-working families* as if only families matter. People can be single, hardworking and as valuable as someone with a family. I alway think it’s really hurtful to people who have no family even if they wanted that.

It’s one example of how many people and especially politicians, pay lip service to inclusivity and how everyone must be included and not left out, when they’re talking about whatever marginalised community is trending, then just forget to be inclusive in the next breath.

Teachers are often terrible for this too. “we must be nice to everyone” but in the same breath, if (for example) you don’t have a PE kit, possibly because you’re poor or have a chaotic home, you can be humiliated and singled out. People not thinking through “kindness” and “inclusivity” but just saying it because it’s the thing to say, really fucks me off.

Absolutely agree.

Gosh! That was a long post of negativity! I'm not usually so nasty, honest. Flowers
It doesn't read as nasty. I just wanted to be your friend Flowers.

Covid, and the media in general

Lots of family homes still have one main full time worker and a partner who may do various part time jobs to fit in with the children!
Still hard working , but also meeting demands of childcare or maybe elderly parents etc.
it's not always two out working full time.
So many variables to home life and working to pay the bills

I was very tired of being peri menopausal. It was hell.
It is easier once the periods stop completely though. It's just getting to that stage that is hard.

Yes I second this. From approx 45-50 it was constant new weird symptoms, rollercoaster hormones and being knackered all the time. Periods finally stopped and I feel calmer, less tired and strangely, also younger.

People posting breaking news on mumsnet, or active situations. Eg “Facebook is down” “XUZ has died”, I find it totally pointless and attention seeking

Everything and anything being blamed on "the pandemic".
I put a deposit down on a car last month and was told I would have it by the beginning of October. I've now been told it will be January (at least) as they're using it as a demo car "because of the pandenic". No offer of a reduction in price and/or compensation. They've effectively broken their contract and won't back down. Why should I pay full price for a car that is, effectively, a year older and will have considerably more mileage on the clock - as well as wear and tear? Sorry to rant, everything has gone wrong recently.

Am sick and tired of the kid who is on one of those mini motorbikes going up and down and the sound of it and his stupid parents who must have bought it for him, so dangerous as other children play outside. Sick of our bloody government and how they f*ck up everything they do. Sick of thinking can trust people but you tell a family member something in confidence and then everyone knows and it gets twisted. Peri-menopause but seeing female doc tomorrow and is 3rd visit and she's been great so hopefully get hrt as male doctor I have just useless and did not even want to talk about it and dismissed me.

Everything COVID !

And - Cooking! Lockdown has me dreading mealtimes…totally fed up of being responsible for meals and when it was proper lockdown and I was home with kids it was like - oh god another meal to think of ha ha.
Hello fresh has saved us for the last few months and my hubby cooks them all yet I still hate having to think of what we’re eating daily/weekly.

Wearing a face mask. In fact, I'm so tired of it that if I get on public transport or go into a shop where hardly anyone is wearing one, I take mine off.

All the fame hungry people who go on the ghastly tv shows,, as in love island and those marriage things, all the people look fairly identical, and then come out of the show, and are called celebrities for some reason.
