@Peoniesandpeaches
I'm so sorry. I have been there and feel your pain. It's all-consuming. I don't know where you are on that journey but keep the possibility of adoption open . Sending you a massive hug sweetheart x

Parents who are out with their kids but stare at their phone all the time. Talk to your kids!! I see so many sad ignored children whose parents are more interested in their phones than them. Particularly fathers. I was having lunch one day and there was a table of five children and three adults next to us. Two women and a man. The women talked to the kids all the way through, showed concern for them, helped them, interacted. The man sat through the whole meal staring at his phone and barely said a word. I assume he was the father of at least one child.

Your students should be isolating if they've got a new cough, and who the f do you think you are telling them nor to!
Dumb ass![/quote]
Easy tiger. Actually they shouldn't be isolating, the advice is to go for a PCR, isolate whilst you await result (24 hours ish) then return to school/college/ work if negative.

I work in a school- this is the protocol. Still have loads and loads of chancer kids pretending to have a cough/ temp/feel funny to have a day off legally. Like once a week for some.

Will I call you a dumb ass for not knowing the protocol? I wouldn't as I'm too polite, but I should.

The plight of Afghan women and womens lack of worth in middle Eastern countries. Our prisoners get more freedoms than they do. It's sheer human rights violations and yet there seems no prospect whatsoever to help them out of their pitiful lives of incarceration and slavery. I can barely listen to the news reports it makes me so angry. 50 percent of their country's population sent home from schools, sent home from work, told to cover up, not be seen, not to speak, not to go out unless accompanied by a man, to have no value except to serve men... How dare they?!😡 how can this be tolerated?

Puffalicious · 06/10/2021 23:07

@a8mint

I do know the protocol dumb ass. The kids are maybe isolating because they are waiting for rheir pcr result which if they needa home delivery one is several days from ordering to result.
Rude and unnecessary. Reported. You cannot come on and insult a poster and now me trying to defend that poster.

You're clearly super sensitive to anyone suggesting Covid should be treated like another, everyday infection. Whilst the rest of us in real life ate getting on with it.

Rude.

Scam phone calls every day, for example: Amazon, loft insulation, banks, BT and timeshare. Why can't the powers to be catch the perpetrators?

Snugglybuggly · 07/10/2021 00:56

Not having enough petrol

skoobidoobidoop · 07/10/2021 00:57

My post was clearly taking the micky out of students making stupid excuses for not going to lessons on a course they have chosen to do (then wonder why they get thrown off)

Of course students should isolate if they are sick. BUT i said ‘coughed a couple of times’ NOT had a new continuous cough.

you don’t use pretend covid as an excuse for being too lazy to go to college.

Two colleagues have died of covid. Don’t you dare accuse me of not taking it seriously.

Treesandsheepeverywhere · 07/10/2021 01:19

Trying to find smart white trainer without a side zip. What's all that about?

a8mint · 07/10/2021 02:36

@skoobidoobidoop if they are not present in your class, how do you know how much they are coughing
if you had an ounce or responsibility, you would be ENCOURAGING your student to isolate until/unless they have a negative PCR, not berating them for doing the right thing.

fashionSOS · 07/10/2021 03:03

Male privilege.

Every time I think we've moved on as a society, something happens to me or someone I know, and I get horribly depressed. I mean, seriously, what do we have to do to fix this? Why, in 2021, is this still an issue?

I have quite a few lovely male friends, which always lulls me into a false sense of security about men in general. Then one shit man reminds me of how ingrained male privilege is.

I'm not actually equal to my male friends, they actively pull me up. If they weren't nice people, they wouldn't do that, because they don't have to. The nice men shouldn't have to constantly being taking steps to help us - we shouldn't need help in the first place because of the shit men.

100% tired of male privilege.

fashionSOS · 07/10/2021 03:06

Another one - people who wear masks on their chin everywhere.

You can either wear a face mask, or you can't. GET OFF THE FENCE. If you're genuinely exempt, fine, I get that you can't do your part by wearing a face covering. If, however, you are capable of wearing a face mask - and by wearing it on your chin, you've demonstrated you are not exempt - WEAR IT ON YOUR FACE. And yes, that includes over your nose.

I suppose in general I'm 100% tired of people who make up their own rules like the Chin People.

TattySlippers · 07/10/2021 03:27

Stonewall and the erosion of womens rights

^^ This is high on my list at the moment.

I also get posters frustration of overweight, slow men taking up the swimming lane. In my case it’s the same 5 overweight, elderly women, standing in the middle of the lane, in a circle, talking. Every day! Why do people need to go swimming to talk and not swim? Why can’t they meet up and chat in the park or something?

PrincessNutNuts · 07/10/2021 03:47

Thousands of British people being hospitalised with covid each week and thousands of British people dying of covid each month.

British people dying of things that aren't covid because hospitals cant carry out their usual workloads whilst dealing with this level of covid cases.

Brexit and the tide of bullshit it rode in on.

Being lied to every day about everything by our government.

Climate change denial

You're so inappropriate. The PP is clearly upset by your attitude and has had colleagues die ffs. Take your false agenda somewhere else.

YouTubeAddict · 07/10/2021 08:22

I’ll probably get flamed for this but you did ask. I’m sick to death of hearing about the end of the £20 UC uplift. Firstly, recipients were told right at the start it was temporary so it’s not a benefits cut which is what all the click bait head lines and sad faces in the newspaper would have you believe. Secondly, UC was never enough in the first place so maybe that issue should be addressed rather than temporarily giving people more and taking it away. Thirdly, I’m now seeing people going on about rising fuel/food/energy. The government didn’t know that would happen 18 months ago. Fourthly, I would have loved to have been handed basically £1500 tax free but I wasn’t. And lastly, what about the rest of us (and some UC claimants) who are being hit with the 1.25% NI increase as well as rising fuel/food/energy. It’s not just them who are losing out.

Phew 😂

"Old drivers who are dangerous and shouldn't be on the road"

Also, presumably, young drivers who are dangerous and shouldn't be on the road?

" In my case it’s the same 5 overweight, elderly women, standing in the middle of the lane, in a circle, talking"

Would it be OK if they were young, or slim, or both?

The ageism on here is very depressing.

Seems PP is describing what she experienced, should it not be said if the people involved were elderly, where's the offense in stating that? Someone else could have experienced similar with younger/slimmer/both but pp didn't.

There was no need to mention their age or weight, both are irrelevant. Would it be OK if she’d said they were black or Jewish?
