So there were three missed calls on my mobile, and a voicemail.

Picked up the voicemail and much to my surprise was treated to a couple of minutes of some saddo wanking.

Amongst the groaning, he called me by my name and informed me that he's found me on google and that it was 'dead fucking easy' to find me. Said he was hoping I'd return his call. I'm a self employed physio, so someone wanting to find me on google would do so really easily.

He didn't bother withholding his number. Should I report him do you think, or just laugh it off?

Definitely report him. Nasty little shit. If he turns up and you've reported this the cops will responpp

PrawnofthePatriarchy · 03/10/2021 19:32

..respond knowing the background.

HTH1 · 03/10/2021 19:32

It’s unanimous! Just don’t delete the voicemail until the police have a copy.

girlmom21 · 03/10/2021 19:32

Definitely report the disgusting creep.

trumpisagit · 03/10/2021 19:33

Yes please report. I am sorry that happened to you

NoWordForFluffy · 03/10/2021 19:33

@Boredhimtodeath

Save his number in your phone then look on WhatsApp! His full name might pop up. I’m not sure if the police would do anything but if you found his details you could forward it/your disgust to his boss/family
I was about to say this.
HollowTalk · 03/10/2021 19:33

Also tried putting his number into Facebook.What a pig that man is.

CovidCorvid · 03/10/2021 19:34

I’d be social media stalking him and finding out if he’s married and where he works and letting his wife and employer know.

Bounce55 · 03/10/2021 19:34

Why would you not report it??

CovidCorvid · 03/10/2021 19:35

Obviously that will only work if you can find his details via the WhatsApp trick.

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 03/10/2021 19:36

That is utterly repulsive. It's also seriously concerning. He'd gone to all the effort to track you down and made a menacing comment letting you know he knows exactly who you are and how easy it was to find you. That's a clear attempt at intimidation.

Absolutely do report: you are not overreacting. Far from it.

Seesawmummadaw · 03/10/2021 19:36

Are you okay? That’s a vile thing to have to listen to.

curdsandwhey · 03/10/2021 19:36

@MrsFin

Report it. He may have been reported 9 times and they are waiting for a tenth before they arrest him (making those numbers up, and also, one time is one time too many)
This, basically.

And even if it's a pay as you go phone, there are still ways of tracing these things when necessary.

You are definitely not overreacting.

PineapplePasta · 03/10/2021 19:37

Definetly report it. Also block his number on WhatsApp after if you're going to add it, don't let that sick bastard see when you're online.

Nothing's come up on WhatsApp.

Thank you, yes I'm fine - DH heard it - he's angry and encouraging me to report it.

I imagine I'd feel a bit differently if I lived alone!

Try google as well incase hes a small business owner and has his number on the internet somewhere?

slightlysnippy · 03/10/2021 19:41

100% report. As reported in the Sarah Everard case, these are gateway crimes. and considering the condemnation of the a usual lack of police action to these types of crimes, the police really do have to take action while the spotlight is on them.

LizzieW1969 · 03/10/2021 19:41

Definitely report him, he sounds like a nasty creep.

arrangeyourface · 03/10/2021 19:42

I’m not knocking the OP here but I don’t really understand why anyone would NOT report this and have to ask if it’s unreasonable to do so.

Mothersister · 03/10/2021 19:43

I can’t believe you’re even asking. Of course you should report him to the Police.

OverByYer · 03/10/2021 19:43

@tinnedpears the police can try to identify him from his phone number and go from there. Save the voice mail and you can send it to the police for them to use. This is an offence under the malicious communication act. Police deal with it all the time. My concern would be he could turn up at your place of work etc;

MissChanandlerBong81 · 03/10/2021 19:43

Just another voice in the ‘report’ chorus. Maybe the police won’t do anything but they can’t unless you report it. Absolutely revolting.

AttaGirrrrl · 03/10/2021 19:44

Report. Report. Report.

Sceptre86 · 03/10/2021 19:44

Report him. Who knows how many other people he has done this to? It isn't normal behaviour by any means. Hope you are OK.
