So there were three missed calls on my mobile, and a voicemail.

Picked up the voicemail and much to my surprise was treated to a couple of minutes of some saddo wanking.

Amongst the groaning, he called me by my name and informed me that he's found me on google and that it was 'dead fucking easy' to find me. Said he was hoping I'd return his call. I'm a self employed physio, so someone wanting to find me on google would do so really easily.

He didn't bother withholding his number. Should I report him do you think, or just laugh it off?

Definitely report. Flowers

OverByYer · 03/10/2021 19:16

Definitely report it, the police will take it seriously

FluffyBooBoo · 03/10/2021 19:16

Have you googled his number to see if it comes up with anything?

I would definitely report.

MrsFin · 03/10/2021 19:17

Report it. He may have been reported 9 times and they are waiting for a tenth before they arrest him (making those numbers up, and also, one time is one time too many)

tinnedpears · 03/10/2021 19:17

@OverByYer

Definitely report it, the police will take it seriously
Will they do you think? I did a bit of looking online and it seems to say they don't do anything.

However with the killing of poor Sarah Everard it might be tased more seriously maybe.

I'm saying the same as others, please report this sick fucker. I'd be worried if he starts getting kicks from harassing you and escalates things if he thinks you are ignoring him.

Twat!

PartyStory · 03/10/2021 19:19

This happened to me as a teenager and my mum reported it. They took it seriously and said other people had reported it too. I don't know what became of it.

Jijithecat · 03/10/2021 19:21

Please report this.
The police will look into it, but if it's an unregistered pre-pay it makes it more difficult.
If this person has done this to you doubtless there are others that they are doing it to as well.

DrSbaitso · 03/10/2021 19:21

Of course you should report it!

VenusTiger · 03/10/2021 19:22

Report - he might book in with you and you'd never know OP. Take care of yourself OP.
The fact he said it's easy to FIND YOU is enough without the wanking - but both should definitely be reported.

Jijithecat · 03/10/2021 19:22

Besides you have nothing to lose other than a few minutes of your time making the report.
I'd probably report it online. It's likely to be much quicker than calling 101.

PinkiOcelot · 03/10/2021 19:25

Please report this OP. He said your name whilst wanking and said you weren’t hard to find. I don’t want to freak you out but that sounds ominous. He could end up stalking you.
Ring the non emergency number now OP.

Whentheydontmeanwhattheysay · 03/10/2021 19:25

OP how horrible for you Flowers
Report the vile bloke.

KarmaStar · 03/10/2021 19:27

Please report because sex offenders often escalate so the next step could be in person with some poor victim traumatised for life and possibly attacked.
If also be extra vigilante just to be on the safe side,do not want to alarm you at all but always sensible to be 100% aware of your surroundings.
Hopefully the pathetic fool will disappear back into the cave he stumbled out of.

Boredhimtodeath · 03/10/2021 19:28

Save his number in your phone then look on WhatsApp! His full name might pop up. I’m not sure if the police would do anything but if you found his details you could forward it/your disgust to his boss/family

DebbieHarrysCheekbones · 03/10/2021 19:28

Report
Also make sure you record the voicemail

FriendshipHelp · 03/10/2021 19:29

Report to the police tonight, there is no question not to.
Even if you think nothing will happen, if he does it again and more evidence is built up against him it all helps.

tinnedpears · 03/10/2021 19:29

Thank you everyone, I was worried I'd be overreacting.

That's a good idea I'll do that now!

Also please report it tonight incase you are the unfortunate victim of someone who is going to start stalking you.
Please take this very seriously.

MsFogi · 03/10/2021 19:30

Please, please report him to the police. It is only if women report every single incident that there will be any change in men's behaviour and (hopefully) the police's approach to crimes against women.

FriendshipHelp · 03/10/2021 19:30

@tinnedpears

Thank you everyone, I was worried I'd be overreacting.
We have been conditioned to think this, you really aren’t overreacting. It is very wrong and worrying.
amillionrosepetals · 03/10/2021 19:30

I agree that you should report it.

TooBigForMyBoots · 03/10/2021 19:31

My case was a bit different @tinnedpears. The guy called me on my landline, so I didn't have a recording, but I did 1471. The police called him back. This was 15 years ago.
