Currently in the process of redecorating my bedroom and itching for inspiration. Would MN be ever so kind to show me their bedroom so I can pinch ideas be inspired by their room? Thanks

@Annabellerina my clothes are in the spare room. No room for them in mine !

Myhousemyhome · 05/10/2021 06:47

I posted our bedroom earlier. This is my favourite room. It’s actually the spare bedroom. Superking size bed. Laura Ashley bedding and curtains. The wardrobe and drawers are Mamas and papas from when dd was a baby. The bed is almost 20 years old like a lot of our stuff and from France. I love the colour on the walls ironically even though it is a neutral - Dulux Egyptian Cotton.

If you are looking for inspiration pop onto Pinterest and type in bedroom ideas

massistar · 05/10/2021 09:02

This is ours. It's a lovely big room with en-suite and walk-in wardrobe off it.

Love your bed @2018SoFarSoGreat !

IntermittentParps · 05/10/2021 09:06

Myhousemyhome, how come your favourite room is the spare room ie not yours?

Chasingsquirrels · 05/10/2021 09:19

This is mine.
Painted about 20 years ago and for years had various brown, gold, beige, cream bed linen and a headboard matching the curtains.

Got a king-size bed which came with grey headboard and have switched to white, grey & yellow bedlinen.

Plan to repaint with pale grey at the bottom and pale yellow at the top and get new curtains (but no idea what).

Hadn't realised quite how mismatched it now looks until I took these photos!

Hi Thank you bought from Laura Ashley a few years back-i love the layered look

JamesHetfieldspick · 05/10/2021 09:54

My bedroom at the minute is hints of stripped wall paper and jumble sale! So im loving looking at everyones lovely rooms to get some ideas. We're having new windows fitted early next month so its all go after that. The only thing staying from the current room is the bedframe which is over a 100 years old and I love it.

Ddot · 05/10/2021 10:05

Myhousemyhome
I like your spare room very nice.

Ddot · 05/10/2021 10:21

I dont like to see the bottom of the bed (divan) its ugly have valence sheets gone out of fashion? Legs ok box yuck. Short curtains always look like student accommodation to me but each to their own. You can get a good look from cheap curtains by getting a wider fit (lots of gathering) I find the main light is often overlooked, dont scrimp on that part it makes a room. If your wanting to add colour think of the mood you want, calm or sexy. Using a colour from the adjacent room works well eg stairs are grey with blue accents then use blue with grey and yellow accents. Don't over do the painted walls it's a bedroom not a rubix cube. Having said all that, have fun take inspiration then put a bit of you into it.

EllaPaella · 05/10/2021 10:26

Here's mine. F&B card room green on back wall, white toe on the the others.
@Noni123 where is your grey throw / bedspread from please? It’s gorgeous
Hi Many thanks I'm new to mn & just getting my head around how to reply & the abbreviations!!!
The velvet throw was from Laura Ashley many moons ago-i love the layered look
@usernameorlan it's from West Elm, part of their Acorn range. If you mean the tall chest of drawers, the drawers fit a folded T-shirt so not huge but they do a few different sizes/models. The drawers next to the bed are probably double the width of the taller unit.

I've loved the West Elm Acorn bed for years, you reminded me to have another look and the double is £200 off today, so i've just ordered it, thanks!

Posted a couple of pics yesterday but they were really to add review on Just Linen (new bed linen review) . These show the whole bedroom. We have an edwardian house so always keen to keep the vintage feel. Picture on the chimney breast is actually a TV-samsung The Frame absolutely love this & feels like real luxury. I love a bargain so most of the furniture are ebay buys. The archways either side lead to small dressing room & ensuite. We have been in this house for over 28 years-house had no heating-only hot water were small geysers above the kitchen & bathroom sinks-we have done most of the changes & work ourselves so has been a true labour of love & can't think we will ever move!

The spare room doesn’t have a dressing room. But actually I sleep in the spare room now and dh in the main bedroom. Separate rooms I’m not a well person and my sleep is sacrosanct. So I get the nicer room. Grin

The house has been stc for a few months now as I would like a downstairs bedroom for me to avoid the stairs but the market is dead for this type of house. We remodelled 10 years ago and had we known then, the extension shape and remodel would have been a lot different…

Myhousemyhome, I see! It's a nice room; I'm glad you get to use and enjoy it !

Haven’t ploughed through all the pics. Most if the houses appear to be too characterless for my taste. Are most of them new builds, I wonder? I’m not a fan of fussily patterned wallpaper and matchy-matchiness. Nor laminate floors.
