Love these threads and I am a nosy cow!

I'll start. Despite the very rainy day, it has been a Busy morning of ferrying kids to activities, then home to wash school uniforms and make dinner which I have now done.

DH doing some work on his laptop in the bedroom, kids x2 on enforced mini nap due to business of this morning

I will now take a quick shower then relax in front of TV-prob Netflix, whilst I research secondary schools for eldest.

What about you........

Husband away, 5yr old in bed, I'm watching 'My Family' with a glass of wine and some sweets

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 02/10/2021 19:55

Nothing too exciting. Had a trip to the garden centre this morning then my DP did some tiling in the kitchen.
DP has gone to work for the night, I've just put my daughter down to sleep and will have a bit of a rubbish tea then do a couple of hours work.

Envoitrevisage · 02/10/2021 20:00

This morning I rode three horses, walked four dogs, got soaked. A bit of DIY outside- one of the barn rooves decided to leak….. soaked and covered in cobwebs.

This afternoon I made a birthday cake, and got fondant icing everywhere, and felt sick eating the left over strawberry laces which went on the cake.

This evening I’m drinking wine on the sofa, we have eaten chicken casserole which was in the bottom oven all afternoon. Might have a game of scrabble…… what a life!!

DaphneeBridgerton · 02/10/2021 20:01

Nandos for lunch, did some organising of cupboards then lay on my bed listening to the rain while baby DD napped. DH currently putting her to bed while I watch Strictly. Beans on toast for dinner as I don't fancy much else!

VerbenaGirl · 02/10/2021 20:10

Watching Free Guy, drinking Mexican gin and eating nice nibbly bits, as it’s DH’s birthday. Enjoying having DD1 at home, as she’s nearly 18 and is often working or out with friends these days (entirely to be expected). Also talking about how autumnal it feels. Not a typical Saturday, but very nice.

Cheeseplantboots · 02/10/2021 20:14

Watching the cube. Husband in shower. Kids in their rooms doing god knows what!

Chubbymummy12 · 02/10/2021 20:21

Dh and ds (10) are playing Xbox together, dd (5) is in bed I'm scrolling social media bored. Had a nice nandos earlier though

Pieceofpurplesky · 02/10/2021 20:25

I've made bread and a ginger cake today. Just eaten with a big bowl of sweet pepper sauce and pasta.
DS is on his PC playing a game with his mates - they were going out but its pouring down so they are meeting this way (all 17). I have just poured a glass of wine, watching strictly before carrying on reading my book. Lazy and lovely

mamaduckbone · 02/10/2021 20:43

It's been vile here all day as well.
Dh and ds2 are on day 9 of covid self isolation - Dh fine and has been decorating, ds2 is a still quite rough but we think he's got the cold that's going round as well. I was let out of isolation on Friday so got the joyous reward of doing the food shop this morning.
Chilled day otherwise - a bit of cleaning, chatted to a friend, tried to choose a new sofa that might be delivered this millennium.
Fish and chips for dinner and I've been listening to music, drinking red wine and looking at the 6th form prospectus with ds1 whilst the covid branch of the family mainline TV in the other room.

HintofVintagePink · 02/10/2021 20:45

Haven’t been outside all day as the weather has been torrential rain all day.

Made soup and focaccia for lunch, baked shortbread, made slow cook beef casserole for dinner.

Lit the fire for the first time this end of the year. School uniforms washed, beds changed and kitchen cleaned. Ordered a few Christmas presents and started a new book.

Sounds idyllic but also spent 80% of the time refereeing the children and dealing with a stroppy 8 year old.

Feeling quite dissatisfied and grumpy watching Strictly!

Wilkolampshade · 02/10/2021 20:46

Lovely to read all these, very cosy.
Just had a fish finger sandwich. Can hear DH paperworking downstairs...will go down in a min and join for a glass of wine.
Ought to take doggo out really, she's lying on the bed chewing her feet and sighing...

TheresSomethingAboutAndy · 02/10/2021 20:46

Me and H been to pub for a few, takeaway ordered. Ds1 playing fortnite and DS2 FIFA. H in his cinema room watching a film, I'm watching strictly with a Wine

HappyBus · 02/10/2021 20:53

Took DD to her gymnastics class this morning and had a coffee at the nearby superstore cafe whilst waiting for her (there's nowhere else to go).

Spent the rest of the day decluttering the house, interspersed with board games with DD.

DH took DS to a party miles away then they had an impromptu visit to the seaside (further on again from where the party was) in the rain for very convoluted reasons I didn't quite follow (nothing to do with getting out of the house sorting, I'm sure). So they were out nearly all day.

DCs have just gone to bed, DH is downstairs watching a film and I'm torn between joining him or getting a really early night.

RoseMartha · 02/10/2021 21:02

The teens are watching you tube on the telly in the lounge.
I am lying on my bed reading MN.

Doublechins · 02/10/2021 21:15

We've been out for hours today with my friend and her DC collecting autumn leaves to take to nursery on Monday then they all came back for dinner and after they went home we tidied up and bath and bed for DC.

Youngest is asleep other 3 are in their rooms watching Netflix. Me and DH are on the sofa attempting to watch teen wolf over the dogs snoring

allofthecheese · 02/10/2021 21:17

Just got DC off to sleep finally, usually takes over 40mins to do so. Husbands in the bedroom with munchies and bingeing some random anime and I'm downstairs MN'ing contemplating calling it a night. It's been a nice though.

haveyouopenedyourbowelstoday · 02/10/2021 21:21

We've both had a weekend off...together! After a chilled day shopping and a steak tea we're cwtched up watching tv. Him with a can and me with a cuppa.

0nlyMe · 02/10/2021 21:22

For lunch, made chicken legs and thigh pieces which took 4 hours cos the bloody oven is on the blink. The roast potatoes shrivelled up and died. They were not pleasant. Sorted the ironing into piles. Went to my sisters house in the afternoon, pizza and movie with the kids. Got home, tried a new sleeping oil for baby dd (with a foot massage) she fell asleep really quickly but that’s because it’s WAY past her bedtime. Now I’m scrolling MN. Eldest DD probably on her phone. DS watching vile you tubers. Supposed to be sorting ds bedtime now. Then looking forward to tackling huge ironing pile. FUN. Hmm

PollyannaWhittier · 02/10/2021 21:25

Dad's reading a book, DSis is watching Netflix and Mum and I are having a crossword race (we picked up two copies of the Waitrose free weekend thing and are seeing who can do the crossword fastest Grin)

romdowa · 02/10/2021 21:26

Sorting and folding baby clothes that we've washed for our baby due in 4 weeks.

Effinell · 02/10/2021 21:28

Not long finished watching Strictly, put DD to bed and now have one eye on her monitor while mumsnetting.

Iseeyoulookingatme · 02/10/2021 21:32

I'm currently in bed and ds is asleep. Not very exciting. I've got a night shift tomorrow so I'm trying to relax while I can.

TheBestSpoon · 02/10/2021 21:43

@Lowlifeinhighplaces Just starting the Good Housekeeping magazine now! I bought it for recipes though, so that would suit me just fine if that's what it is - thought it looked a bit better than the BBC Good Food one next to it on the shelf. I agree it isn't clear it's food focussed at all from the front cover though...

Piecrust32 · 02/10/2021 22:00

Pouring with rain , baby has very been hard work today, gave up on housework etc

Ordered pizza for my older ones and we ve sat and watched films all day!

SpacemanDad · 02/10/2021 22:12

In our house right now?
There’s a 6month old kitten home alone.

Allow me to explain, I’m on an oil platform somewhere between Shetland and Norway, Partner is at her mum’s for a bit because SIL has just arrived from Australia and she hasn’t seen her for 5 years and DS is at Wagamama with his girlfriend celebrating one year together, so Betty the kitten has the house all to herself!
