To think this guy leaving me money is so strange?

Was out last night and met a guy, brought him home and had a one night stand. Had a good night and he left this morning, I then went to work. When I got home I noticed there is a twenty pound note on the side he was 'sleeping'. He obviously does not think I'm a prostitute but why in the hell would he leave that?

AIBU to think this is very very strange?

Yes, I’d be tempted to do something like this, and ask whether he had dropped £20.

How strange. I really doubt this would be an intentional insult - what’s the point of that?

If that were the case, he would have left a £5 and probably some nasty note.

I would just text him and say, “There is £20 here. Did you find it on the floor or leave it by accident?”

If he is playing a sick joke, at least this will give the message that you don’t get the joke - so if he meant to insult you, it’s not worked Grin. In this case he probably won’t reply.

Otherwise, he might just say he found it, or maybe he thought you bought the drinks.

Isn’t it possible he just emptied his trouser pockets before taking them off? I do this and have misplaced money before having left it down after coming home, whereas phone/keys are more likely to be in the coat pocket.

Also possible that he emptied his pockets when a bit drunk in the evening and in the morning couldn’t remember if it was his or not so didn’t take it.

But why would £20 fall out of his wallet / pocket randomly?
Unless the condoms were in there and it fell our while trying to get a condom. And he wasn't sure if his or yours so he just left it?

No but I got up before him, he lay for another 10/15 mins whilst I was getting ready then I was only in bedroom to grab my clothes and got ready in bathroom/dressing room as always so didn't notice it

He definitely does not think you are a prostitute - I don't think people who visit prostitutes leave 20 quid on the bedside table while the woman is asleep. I think it's more like that will be xx pounds please.

I would be surprised if it was an intentional insult -- I suppose it's possible but if it happened to me it would be wasted on me as I'd just automatically assume it had fallen out of his pocket or something.

If it does happen to be an insult, and maybe I'm naive as I assume it's a genuine mistake, then he truly truly is disgusting. And I'm sure someone else will be much better than me than writing a suitable retort!
