To think this guy leaving me money is so strange?

Was out last night and met a guy, brought him home and had a one night stand. Had a good night and he left this morning, I then went to work. When I got home I noticed there is a twenty pound note on the side he was 'sleeping'. He obviously does not think I'm a prostitute but why in the hell would he leave that?

AIBU to think this is very very strange?

Oh I’d have to text him to ask. I’d have to know!

Egghead68 · 27/09/2021 17:48

Oh god no, don’t contact him again. He’s a nasty misogynistic piece of work.

LaurieFairyCake · 27/09/2021 17:50

"Oh you've accidentally left £20 on the bedside table, ok for me to put it in the charity box for you?"

The response will be very telling ....

icedcoffees · 27/09/2021 17:52

I wouldn't ask him, if he knows you're not a prostitute then it was probably meant as an insult.

PassTheDutchyUpYrLeftBackside · 27/09/2021 17:52

Blimey - I want to know the outcome now, OP!

StripeyBadger · 27/09/2021 17:53

Just acknowledging it to him will play into his ego. Ignore it and don’t see him again.

viques · 27/09/2021 17:53

I’d be tempted to message him in a few days and say “thanks for the tip - and the chlamydia.”

I understand penile swabs are quite unpleasant.

spotcheck · 27/09/2021 17:53

Post him a picture of you donating it to a charity to support sex education for average men.

WhyOhWhyOhWhyyyy · 27/09/2021 17:53

I would also have to message to ask what the fuck.

girlmom21 · 27/09/2021 17:55

I don't know how much prostitutes charge but I'd assume it's more than £20...

I would say he probably thought he owed for drinks or something

KurtWilde · 27/09/2021 17:55

No way I'd let this slide, I'd be texting and asking if he realises he's 'accidentally' left £20 at yours and see what he says.

Cryalot2 · 27/09/2021 17:55

I would message him only if you are prepared for the worst possible answer.
It may well be harmless.

Myusernameisnotmyusernameno · 27/09/2021 17:56

Do you know where he lives? Post it back through his letterbox in 5p's

dworky · 27/09/2021 17:57

Twenty quid wouldn't pay for an overnight prostitute.

Has he helped himself to something & left payment maybe?

NigelSlatersXmasTaters · 27/09/2021 17:58

I'd block him without so much as a word

OP says he paid for all the drinks.
Shirleyphallus · 27/09/2021 17:58

Yep this is a really old joke isn’t it

Mrstamborineman · 27/09/2021 17:59

He is a nasty person that gets enjoyment from insulting people so much he doesn’t mind leaving money.

Blue4YOU · 27/09/2021 17:59

I actually can’t decide if it’s an insult or error.. was he a bit of a dick (ahem) during the evening?

RosieGuacamosie · 27/09/2021 17:59

I struggle to believe anyone would be so vile as to think this would be a funny joke Envy

Amdone123 · 27/09/2021 18:00

@Meridasmum, I agree. This was my first thought. Disgraceful if that's the case.

wendywoopywoo222 · 27/09/2021 18:01

I don't think it's supposed to be a funny joke. It's just insulting. Block him. Dickhead.

All this prostitute business being mentioned didn't even cross my mind.

My initial thought was he left it there so you would contact him again "oh you left money" ... "thanks very much for getting in touch, anyway while I have you when can I see you again?".

That's how I would have taken it anyway. They like you?

vodkaredbullgirl · 27/09/2021 18:02
Hmm
brooksandvicki · 27/09/2021 18:02

He seemed like a decent enough guy, however, 37 and no long term relationship ever he said last night so I'm assuming something is up! But no, I didn't get any bad vibes and I would never think it was the beginning of a blossoming relationship! And didnt act that way either
