To not shower everyday?

Zwills · 19/09/2021 15:46

Especially if you don't work full time or leave the house everyday. Sometimes I prefer to shower in the evenings so I feel fresh before going to bed, other days if I'm going out I will have a shower in the morning or If I wake up earlier before the kids i have one then. I don't always wash my hair I don't always shower everyday if I am just at home and exhausted. Just wondering how honest everyone will be or do people literally shower everyday/twice a day without fail even if they don't leave their home. Obviously excluding when the weather the hot.

@PattyPan

It is normal to get a little bit of smegma. It is not normal to have so much that after two days it can be smelt by passersby or leaves a smell in a loo cubicle you have left, though - I'd see a doctor if that is the case.

And please don't put soap on your vulva. It can disrupt the balance of good bacteria. Just use water when washing there.

True, after two days without a shower passers by wouldn't be smelling you, but on the other hand you wouldn't exactly be fresh as a daisy either would you?
PattyPan · 21/09/2021 18:43

@InSpaceNooneCanHearYouScream from what my family tell me (and they aren't the type to hold back!), I start to smell on the fourth day (if not a hot day/exercise), and it's from the pits rather than pants Grin

@LukeEvansWife

I don’t care - it’s rank
So disabled people and the elderly that cannot wash everyday are rank? Fuck you

No, the people who CHOOSE not to wash every day with the result that they stink are rank.

But ‘fuck you’ is quite the Socratic argument

LukeEvansWife · 21/09/2021 19:00

And given that some people can apparently smell a fanjo from 10 paces, perhaps direct your unnecessary aggression toward them?

takemetomars · 21/09/2021 19:06
@Cheesepuff1 A normal vagina will not have a strong smell after two days. If you are wiping yourself properly and changing underwear daily those things you mention are not an issue.
That's just not true

Passmeamenuatthetottenham · 21/09/2021 19:08

And everyone claims not to smell - I take the train daily and you can tell the soap dodgers

The people whose BO you can smell just from standing near them have almost definitely gone more than two days without a shower. And probably don't use any deodorant, and probably aren't wearing clean clothes.

You don't have to shower every single day in order not to smell. I do shower every day (pretty much, sometimes skip a day at the weekend if I'm not going anywhere) but that is more habit than because I'm worried other people will be able to smell my minge.

All this 'I can totally smell if someone hasn't had a shower that morning' is just crap.

careerchangeperhaps · 21/09/2021 19:09

I don't shower everyday if I'm just at home and not exercising etc. A soap and flannel wash at the sink (face, pits and bits - in that order) is sufficient.

LukeEvansWife · 21/09/2021 19:27

All this 'I can totally smell if someone hasn't had a shower that morning' is just crap.

I’m sorry I don’t remember having said that. I said I can tell the soap dodgers

Passmeamenuatthetottenham · 21/09/2021 19:33

@Cheesepuff1

I shower every day (hair every other day) my main reason is the frequency of going into staff or public toilets and being absolutely grossed out by the smell in the air from dirty fanjos and having absolute fear of ever being like that.
Do you have the sense of smell of a dog or something? I have never ever walked into a public bog and thought 'cor, it stinks of dirty fanjos in here!'

One time in my whole life I went into a cubicle and it smelt very strongly of fish and I assumed the person in there before me was suffering from BV (so nothing to do with how often you wash). But apart from that I can honestly say I have never been able to smell another woman's fanny.

So if an able bodied person who chooses to shower every 2 days is rank but someone who can't isn't? How does that work then? They're either rank or they're not

I wasn't referring to you specifically. There are always people on this thread who claim to be able to tell if someone hasn't showered that morning just from standing next to them.
Cheesepuff1 · 21/09/2021 19:35

@Passmeamenuatthetottenham maybe I do, it's not something I enjoy like..

You can't. Hth

LukeEvansWife · 21/09/2021 19:38

So if an able bodied person who chooses to shower every 2 days is rank but someone who can't isn't? How does that work then? They're either rank or they're not

If someone is too lazy to shower or wash then it is rank.

If someone is unable to shower or wash then of course I’m not going to judge them.

I think you need to calm down

Cheesepuff1 · 21/09/2021 19:40

@LST maybe just have a wash rather than being so defensive Hmm

LukeEvansWife · 21/09/2021 19:40

And if someone is dirty, I’m going to smell them. Most the time I probably wouldn’t give it a second thought.

But if people are so proud of not showering etc, then yes I’m going to have an opinion

LST · 21/09/2021 19:40

When you can't stand alone or get upstairs yourself, come back to me.

I don't see the difference though. Me and DP shower every 2 days. I'm disabled he is not. So he is rank but I'm not? How the fuck does that make sense. He doesn't smell. He isn't disgusting or rank.
LukeEvansWife · 21/09/2021 19:41

So you clearly aren’t lazy or indulging in competitive dirtiness. So nobody is having a go at you.

bestwisheskindregards · 21/09/2021 19:42

I shower everyday even if I'm not leaving the house but it might not be until midday on the weekend if I'm not doing anything.

LukeEvansWife · 21/09/2021 19:42

Fucking hell - let it go…. (Or at least have a go at someone else, I’m bored now)

But that doesn't matter. Showering every 2 days does not make you rank. And nobody, unless you had a serious body odor problem would be able to tell
LukeEvansWife · 21/09/2021 19:44

I refer you to my last post

Cheesepuff1 · 21/09/2021 19:44

@LST unless your disabilities also somehow magically prevent you sweating, producing smegma etc then you will smell by not washing as much as an able bodied person who doesn't wash. doesn't mean I'm calling you a lazy bitch choosing to be gross, but doesn't change the smell does it??
