I do really feel for her, she was an exploited child and went through what appeared to be repeatedly brutal experiences.

But whenever she talks, the attitude and "the world owes me" way in which she speaks is not helping her cause at all.

OP posts:
pollypokcet · 16/09/2021 17:46

Exactly. Well said. But she is brown and Muslim so less worthy of understanding.

I can totally understand how she can be radicalised and I don't think any 14yo is above being indoctrinated but the people dying on the hill of defending her are weird. It's one thing to understand another to just have a bleeding heart, feeing sorry for her.

If she was remorseful, people would probably have a bit more sympathy. I can accept being groomed at 14/15 but she clearly still believes it so I don't get why some people are fighting tooth and nail for someone who hates you

Fraine · 16/09/2021 17:47

@TableFlowerss don’t think Blossom has posted any posts to me. Maybe learn to read 😂

Fraine · 16/09/2021 17:49

@TableFlowerss

I’ve got no time for those that sympathies with people that are associated with terrorists.
Nope, just finding the double standards for brown women vs white women interesting.

White = groomed, brown = murderer.

pollypokcet · 16/09/2021 17:52

The fact we're even able to debate this and have feelings like empathy is because we live in a pretty safe country. That's a privilege in itself, and I'd argue the people she and her fellow ISIS members terrorised didn't have the option of doing that

People who feel sympathetic are able to because they're not the ones being victimised. This moral high ground of protecting her is actually paradoxical to me.

TheReluctantPhoenix · 16/09/2021 17:56

I do think that she was very young and had a brutal time out there.

She is British and I do think that she deserves a fair shot in a British court, if she chooses to take it.

TableFlowerss · 16/09/2021 17:58

**Nope, just finding the double standards for brown women vs white women interesting.

White = groomed, brown = murder**

That’s your warped reality, but as it’s been explained several times on here by various people, colour is nothing to do with it.

Evidently it suits you to play the racism card. I suppose it distracts people from the fact you support these people.

Fraine · 16/09/2021 18:00

@TableFlowerss so I’ve gone from supporting those affiliated to terrorists to supporting terrorists? 😂

Nope, I just believe in human rights and a right to a fair trial. Sue me!

You keep playing the race card and it’s got sod all to do with race.

You’re right, Blossom toes wasn’t referring to you but you keep coming out with the same rubbish as the other sympathiser, it’s hard to distinguish.

‘Human right’, disguised as feeling sorry for her. You should save your sympathy for the families affected by the bombers!

Fraine · 16/09/2021 18:10

@TableFlowerss because racism is sadly a huge problem. Nor everyone has the luxury of burying their heads in the sand and ignoring it.

I think your posts are filled with rubbish. That post that you don’t care is people are blue, pink, orange is a classic indicator of racism. BAME people aren’t pink, blue, orange and your glib remarks cheapens their experiences.

LoislovesStewie · 16/09/2021 18:14

BTW I feel exactly the same about anyone who joined them, there were white people who decided that joining those thugs was a great idea.

Fraine · 16/09/2021 18:15

@LoislovesStewie

Were any of them children?

And those people are never in the news.

Xenia · 16/09/2021 18:15

I would rather give more air time to the Yazidi girls the ISIS bride's men took as slaves and raped. The UK has spent £30,000 on SB's legal aid already which is more than most of us have had the state spend on our legal fees (most people in the UK do not get legal aid these days).

The idea she had that the UK is doing badly against terrorism (as if she were more knowledgeable than MI5 and 6 put together came over very badly).

Closetbeanmuncher · 16/09/2021 18:17

I agree.

Whammyyammy · 16/09/2021 18:18

The only person talking about race is you. You’re the one that keeps bringing it up and is adamant that if she was white it would be different. 🤦‍♀️ You won’t accept this isn’t the case, despite several posters explaining their stance.

If you can actually try to twist the fact I used random colours to illustrate a point, being that colour is irrelevant, then you really are troubled. That’s you’re problem and your prejudice, not mine.

On another note - Luckily the British authorities have all the intelligence they need and she’s not been allowed back. Long may that continue…… 🤞

LoislovesStewie · 16/09/2021 18:18

From The Guardian July 2018
The ICSR researchers Joana Cook and Gina Vale said 850 British citizens became affiliated with Isis in Iraq and Syria, including 145 women and 50 minors. Of the 425 who returned to the UK, only two women and four minors were confirmed. The figures are believed to be vast underestimates due to an absence of official government data, they added.

Fraine · 16/09/2021 18:20

@TableFlowerss

That’s you’re problem and your prejudice, not mine.

Nope, that your privilege talking. You go on referring to BAME people as pink, blue and orange. So inclusive.

Blossomtoes · 16/09/2021 18:21

@Fraine, my sympathy is with those brown Yazidi women who were raped and killed by Isis. One woman was forced to watch her baby killed and eat him. It really gets no more depraved and inhumane than that. Begum supported and succoured those barbarians. I can’t see how anyone in their right mind can defend her.

mumda · 16/09/2021 18:21

Wasn't the work done on criminals that ended with a terrorist being battered with s nawhale tusk showing that radicalisation can't be undone.

This. I agree. Also there is no such thing as a race card.

StoneofDestiny · 16/09/2021 18:24

There are hundreds in the same position in Syrian camps. She has become the poster girl for the ISIS recruits and clearly has a PR team working on her behalf - and her attire in the interview is evidence of that. She must be sticking out like a sore thumb over there. She isn't in danger now, however the Afghan people who supported Britain, the reporters and the female sportswomen are. Prioritise them.

If we say every 15 year old is a victim of grooming - we need to look at our law that places culpability at age 10. One heck of a lot of young people in our prison system will need their cases reevaluated and many will need to be released no doubt. So many sex abusers for instance were victims if sex abuse, likewise gang members - introduced as children to drugs and gangs.

Again, your issue - not mine!

Absolutely agree. Yet incredibly some people do. Begets belief.

TableFlowerss · 16/09/2021 18:35

There absolutely is. It’s when people absolutely insist their dislike of someone is purely based on their race/ethnicity. That can be true for many situations but this isn’t one of them!

"....but if she was white..."
