Just that - why are we paying for this bunch when we could be spending the money on essential services? Let the Queen continue then after her just get rid of the whole bloody lot of them. We have and alleged paedo, a whinging multi millionaire in his 30's moaning constantly, an allegedly corrupt heir to the throne meeting dodgy russians for money....... just go, enough. Seriously - this is all Jeremy Kyle for poshos.

Prince Charles's footprint is huge. Mine is minute. Perhaps that doesn't bother you. Anyway, I don't wish to speak to you. You're rude and insulting. Please leave me alone.

PicsInRed · 17/09/2021 21:04

But you don't get it. It's not that he as a person is particularly impressive. However he espouses causes which are dear to me. Currently he's focusing on food waste in this country, family farms and sustainability. Things that you probably don't give a shit about.

He's focused on corrupt donations. The end.

HarrisonStickle · 17/09/2021 21:05

contributing billions to the economy through tourists etc

Firstly, I think this is nonsense. Secondly, I predict we'd see an increase in tourists/revenue if we chucked the RF and fully opened up Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle for a start.

TheKeatingFive · 17/09/2021 21:05

Why is the not particularly clever, talented or charming Prince Charles the one doling out prizes? On what grounds?

ChurchofLatterDayPaints · 17/09/2021 21:07

No, actually you don't get it. The hypocrisy is mindblowing. He and his clan shoot the fuck out of the wildlife, treat Cornwall like their own family farm, spend our money like it's going out of fashion and expect to lecture us on sustainability????

Any fucker could do what he does without being paid MILLIONS.

TheKeatingFive · 17/09/2021 21:08

What a shame is own carbon footprint is enormous. Why don’t you care he doesn’t practice what he preaches. Im sure we could all espouse fabulous causes while living lives of unimaginable luxury and never once having to walk the walk ourselves.

HarrisonStickle · 17/09/2021 21:14

Charles may be interested in sustainability etc, things I'm interested in too. He and his family are mired in corruption, scandal, secrecy and hypocrisy which his interest in farming does not cancel out.

The most recent scandal following Charles is the one where other immensely rich people donate to his charities in exchange for access and awards. It's ridiculous that we as a society accept these things in exchange for the crumbs they throw us.

Exactly.

Kate is applauded when she wears a coat twice or has a servant move the buttons to accommodate pregnancy - we really need collectively to stop being taken in by this nonsense.

That link doesn't work. Is this the item you were meaning? When he flew 125 miles to make a speech on reducing carbon emissions generated by flying.

List of people impressed by PC:
1. Camilla pb
2. ...
3. ...
4. ...

Before we assume Camilla's too impressed by him, let's remember that she's now spending between 4 and 5 days a week at her own home

And before anyone says "It's nice to have space", yes it is - but after the years he spent mooning over her, it's perhaps a bit surprising that she doesn't even live with him in any meaningful way

ChurchofLatterDayPaints · 17/09/2021 21:34

True, puzzled. Do you think she's on AIBU?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 17/09/2021 21:45

Do you think she's on AIBU?

I'm just trying to imagine it Grin

"I married a serial shagger" (Andrew PB) ... LTB, obviously
"I'm having an affair with a married man" ... Get a grip/what about the sisterhood
"I married the guy, but everything's about HIM and I now can't bear to live with him" ...
Emotional abuse, LTB

ChurchofLatterDayPaints · 17/09/2021 21:47

She'd have a few excellent MIL and BIL threads as well...

StoneofDestiny · 17/09/2021 22:06

Correct. The cost of their clothing is astronomical. The cars they drive are gas guzzling monsters. They have multiple homes, kitted out with staff and heater even when unoccupied. Their households are unsustainable - seriously - dressers, door openers, chair dragger outers, pipers..............ridiculous, total insult to those of us who work non stop to keep afloat!

StoneofDestiny · 17/09/2021 22:11

And we have had Fergie and Sophie caught on camera selling access to the royals.
We've got the Queen trying to hid Andrew from facing his accusers in court.
Charles who has had dubious relationships with sex abusers.
And a whole family who seems beyond the law when it comes to racist abuse and dimwit William saying 'we are very much a family who are not racist'. (Forgot about grandad Philip did you?)

StoneofDestiny · 17/09/2021 22:15

Seen how much it costs to run his garden have you? Thought not.
He's a hobbies Ron a hobby horse. What he provides from 'Dutchy' is beyond most people, so hardly likely to be aimed at the poor and needy.

How many primary schools, hospitals, boring repetitive stuff do you do out of a sense of duty pony? Pure jealousy of rich folk

If I was on the same income as Princess Ann I'd open a library, school, hospital or whatever 7 days a week. Why on earth am I jealous. What a bizarre thought

But who would turn out to see you?

What?
It's not about who turns out to 'see you', it's about who benefits from the facilities provided.

I can assure you if One Direction, in their hey day, or David Attenborough turned up to open something, the crowd would be bigger than for a royal. Kids wouldn't have to be dragged out of school to flag way either.

StoneofDestiny · 17/09/2021 22:22

I guess the fact that polls continually show that the majority of the population supports a monarchy is one. Obviously that’s open to change, particularly as support increases with age. And undeniably the Andrew debacle will have an impact. Only time will tell whether it’s a lasting one or a blip

But it doesn't. Majorities in Canada, Australia and Scotland don't want them..

Matilda82 · 17/09/2021 22:23

What makes him an expert on food waste? Sweet FA other than his name.

But the majority of British people do. I completely understand other countries wanting to get rid though.

I think the kids rather enjoy it tbh. And no I dont think David Attenborough ( even though he is lovely) would have that pull... you dont genuinely believe that do you?
StoneofDestiny · 17/09/2021 22:29

If I never held down a job in my life and was administered to by a battery of servants, advisors, chauffeurs and the kow towing public, I'd be expected to come up with a bit more than an interest bin food waste. He's 72 for goodness sake - a lifetime of idleness and nothing innovative has resulted from the countless billions spent on him and his family!

StoneofDestiny · 17/09/2021 22:32

Yes I do. But stick in Lady Ga Ga or any Glastonbury headliner and you get the point.

And children like Disney films too...........
