AIBU to think iPhones are really disappointing?

My whole adult life I thought iPhones were a luxury extravagance and I made do with mostly Samsungs especially as I was partying in London in my twenties and half my thirties with high risk of having it stolen on a night bus or lost when drunk etc.
Treated myself finally at age 39 to an iPhone 11 and I am bloody disappointed! There is no in built beauty mode so I look like sh** in all my photos, it takes 3 bloody hours to charge fully (and It didn’t even come with a plug so I had to buy a charger to even charge it - and now I learn there is another charger I can shell out £50 to charge it faster!), it constantly tells me my iCloud storage is full and I can’t turn off the notifications, loads of things seem really clunky. Worst smart phone I have ever had.
AIBU?
YABU - iPhones are the holy grail of smart phones
YANBU - you shoulda stuck with Samsung, you disloyal fool!

@ManifestDestinee

YABU - I love my iPhone, it’s streets ahead of all the other options out there IMO

Only true devotees still use that line! Apple are masters of marketing but not much else.

Masters of security too.

I imagine banking on an android phone is much like going to a random library computer with no anti virus and doing banking. Yes banking works but I’d rather have the security to do so.

Also that apps are not just made by any random who can put whatever they want in it.

That’s the price you pay for more customisation lack of security.

I prefer iPhone and I’ve had both at the same time (one a work phone).

I find the keyboard easier to type on, it feels nicer to hold and I can find what I’m looking for much more quickly on the iPhone.

This could be down to pure luck but DP has a Samsung and he’s on his fourth new screen in the space of 2 years. We both use a similar style case and my iPhone has been dropped on countless occasions and doesn’t seem to have suffered any damage. His screen shatters each time it gets dropped.

He also seems unable to use whatever the android equivalent to iCloud is for some reason. He has the same issue as you with the iPhone saying he’s run out of storage.

You imagine wrong.

Eh???? What???? Beauty mode?? How have I missed this?

iamprobablynotyourcupoftea · 13/09/2021 20:33

Yes they are overhyped. I might have a samsung next time, but I won't go with Vodafone ever again !!! Terrible customer service

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 13/09/2021 20:35

It’s just a phone at the end of the day, how good could it be?

I’ve got one but it’s mainly to track dd’s I phone and have them in sync etc

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 13/09/2021 20:36

Used to have a Samsung and liked that fine too. Marginally prefer the I phone if pushed.

I get them renewed from Amazon as I don’t like being tied to contracts

sanityisamyth · 13/09/2021 20:36

Love my iPhone. Tried a Samsung once and it was the worst mistake I've ever made. Never again.

Yeah weird right... lol

I've always had iphone so had never heard of it either lol

Stan1408 · 14/09/2021 19:45

@minionese

It's always android owners that say how awful iPhones are. iPhone owners seem not to care about which phone people have.
Completely true!
