I'm a non-confrontational wuss... how to deal with a parking issue??

For the last 3 weeks we haven't been able to have our bins emptied on a morning.

This is because the new nobber neighbours boyfriend has taken to parking his scrap van right on the end of our very narrow street (which is a cul de sac)This means that anyone turning on or off our street has to be incredibly careful because you can't see if something is coming the other way.

However it also means that the bin wagon can't access our street on bin day.

Nobber neighbour knows this because she has started taking her bin right to the end of the street past nobber boyfriends van so hers will get emptied. This is very annoying!

Nobber boyfriend is quite aggressive so none of us non-nobber neighbours have dared approach nobber boyfriend.

Can't put a note on the van or through their door as they have cctv so will see who it is.

Short of writing a letter and posting it to them (yes I did say I am a non-confrontational wuss) what do we do??

Sorry forgot to add this was the response I got from the council. So next time he is there I'm reporting via 101

Either that or she has dumped him, but I doubt that as I wfh right next to the living room window with it open all day and I haven't heard any shouting!!

Maybe NobberNeighbour has murdered the NonnyBoyfriend (poisoning , it's fairly quiet) and bundled him into his NobberVan then had it crushed .

Two manky little birds with one stone .

Report it to the council and the police. Highlight that it is dangerous if there is a fire or someone needs an ambulance. It will soon move.

The selfishness of people beggars belief.

Firstly this thread is amazing. What about when your DH takes your bin to the end of the road to ensure it gets emptied he sticks a sign to the van which says where he lives and that the neighbours have asked him to move, have resorted to having to move their bins but maybe the Nobber would listen if they went and had a word? If your DH just leaned into the van as subtly as possible if it’s on CCTV to attach. It might not work but maybe someone with a bigger van might command respect

Do you have a female friend who is less shy and retiring than you? Have her pretend to be nobber's BF's other lady friend. Have her insert notes through nobber neighbour's door in which she declares her undying love for the BF and begs him not to leave her now she's pregnant. They may have CCTV but they won't know your friend is anything to do with you.

Once nobber neighbour sends her BF packing, you're sorted.

Update:

Nobber neighbour has bought an illegal off road quad bike and is currently tearing round the streets like a twat.

Am reporting to police.

REP22 · 21/09/2021 19:40

Oh no! Not sure about where you are but near me the Police are quite proactive on quad bikes and dirr bikes. Any misuse and the bikes are seized and crushed. No solution is perfect, but it really has noticeably helped in a few problem areas here.

cricketmum84 · 22/09/2021 07:56

I used the 101 online service and there was a section for nuisance quad bikes.

Nobber dogs (yes there are now two) chased my little Betsy again this morning. I told her to keep her little nobheads on a lead, apparently I need to keep my fucking cat on a lead before her dogs fucking rip it apart... she is fucking awful delightful so I don't think asking her nicely to move nobbervan is a goer.

Definitely report that to the dog warden.
God they sound horrific.

UltimateBugKilla · 22/09/2021 09:21

Report the loose dog to the police, the dangerous dog to the warden and if it shits report that to the council too

cricketmum84 · 22/09/2021 09:27

Thing is if I report the dogs she is going to know it was me for sure.

He collects scrap, she doesn't seem to work and they have two huge brand new very expensive cars on the driveway so I wonder how they are affording them... I really don't want to antagonise her any further!

(Unless she or shitbag dogs hurt my cats in which case I'm going all out warfare)

You need Jack Reacher, OP. Other than that, I’m stumped

I was thinking more Liam Neeson.

And to be fair he should give you a discount as you can provide a precise location.

BlackShadowCat · 22/09/2021 11:28

I hate nobbers like this. The thing is they will see themselves as the victims and you all as nobbers.

🎵 Nobber doggies, Nobber doggies. Running all around! Get the ducks back on a lead or they'll be in the pound! 🎵
