Cycling DH’s or those who do a lot of sports - why is this a problem on MN?

I see quite a lot of vitriol against cyclist husbands on here and I do wonder why. I get the whole MAMIL thing and yes, it’s definitely boring if they go on about it too much. But aside from that, what is the problem? I, for one, have a cycling obsessed DH and don’t care when he goes out in his bike. Not do I care about any of his other sports. Am I missing something?

So you knew a selfish person who chose to prioritise their hobby.

Mumsnet relationship boards has hundreds of threads showing people like that exist.

I'm still not convinced that a hobby of people need to be deemed useless partners, poor parents, lazy arseholes who don't pull their weight because they have particular hobby.

Maybe I'm in the wrong circles because neither me, DH , or the people we know who cycle have seem to think shaving off seconds is god-like, or whatever noble pursuit hyperbole gets churned out on here when people would rather blame a hobby than their partner's personality
