Currently in a debate with a 19 year old nephew about transgender issues.

I believe gender is a social construct. But:

I don't believe in puberty blockers for 10 year olds.
I'm currently on my third IVF cycle and for this reason I'm not convinced young people (over 18) should take hormone replacement therapy.

Been reliably informed this makes me a Karen. AIBU?

The stupid concept of 'Karen' is made up my those who believe themselves to be so right that any opposition provokes nonsensical accusations. They are so 'inclusive' but exclude anyone who doesn't buy into their rubbish.

No, you're not being a Karen. Sadly Karens do exist (as many black and Asian people unfortunately know), but your nephew should not be calling you a Karen.

@MrsRobbieHart my experience with racist men in the public sphere is that the aggression toward POC women is often sexual. I guess towards young POC men, it is violent like in the case of George Floyd..have not encountered many racist white women in public as it's usually the men but I can imagine that they are probably more 'vocal' than sexual or violent, judging from the many clips on social media.
