To think 1200 is a quite a lot in a bank account for someone on benefits

Not a benefits bashing thread. Dd is currently unable to work. She gives me £400 a month. She currently has 1200 in her account and feels like she isn’t saving enough. I’m trying to re assure her that when you have limited money that’s quite a bit.

I stated many times previously, I do not claim any benefits.[/quote]
Are you serious?! You are being superior about people who claim carer’s allowance when you have a very privileged position.

No one cares about how much money you have, just don’t try and act as if you’re a better parent because you don’t claim carer’s allowance.

You are so tone deaf it’s unreal.

@phishy 👍🏼

I’m the daughter of a paper at least millionaire. I work in the family business. I’m not a jealous hater. But I think RussianSpy is totally wrong in her attitude.

What’s £330 she asks? To many, many families that’s an entire months food.

phishy · 30/08/2021 22:20

If £330 is nothing, why even claim it?

You seem completely unaware that many people have neither.

Is this your daughter that has EUPD? You give very little detail or context to your posts which makes it difficult to respond. You get a lot of help/advice on here but still offer so little in way of detail or update

OhWhyNot · 30/08/2021 22:50

Yes I think it is

But good that she is saying or trying to

MissTrip82 · 30/08/2021 22:57

I think it would be hard to save that on benefits, yes. Your daughter’s doing well. It will help her to move out when she’s ready.

Presumably you’re saving too, moving is expensive and I guess that’s what you’ll do when she goes if your current house will be too large.

GettingItOutThere · 30/08/2021 23:01

how much does she get a month!?

400 seems high!

putthetubeinthebin · 30/08/2021 23:02

@KarmaStar

You're getting carers allowance for her and taking £400 a month? You are doing well out of your dd.
I didn't spot her saying she gets carer's allowance?
Comefromaway · 30/08/2021 23:28

She’s not getting carer’s allowance. Someone suggested she apply. But if she’s working more than £128 per week she won’t be eligible.

smileandsmileooooooo · 30/08/2021 23:51

These comments are crazy, does someone become free if they are unable to work? No, they still need to live somewhere and need paying for. So £400 a month is a hell of a lot cheaper than if she was out in the community, and I'm sure she is getting much better support than she would in her own place. Well done @Happiestyearofmylife
