@Maddison12 thanks 😂

It was peanut butter cup for all those who desperately want to know

PartyPotato · 28/08/2021 23:19

@Yesitsbess you just pass out quietly dear, I’ll hold down the fort

Jemand · 28/08/2021 23:20

The kids have got on really well but my DD is obviously getting fed up of Alyssa as she said today "why does Alyssa have competitions no one else competes in" 🤣🤣 example: we go out to the cars and Alyssa runs and gets to the car first and announces "I win!".

Can't someone point out to her that she looks a bit daft claiming to have won a race that no-one else is taking part in?

Newmumatlast · 28/08/2021 23:21

@FrangipaniDeLaSqueegeeMop

I am here!

And a bit drunk. Not with friend.

Merry hell broke loose. Everyone has fallen out. I'm coming back from the pub, need to charge my phone and I will update!

Waiting with bated breath!!!

@PartyPotato A man who doesn't appreciate peanut butter cup ice cream?! You surely don't need that kind of negativity in your life...LTB Grin

Sunny Sunday morning here too in lockdown New Zealand. Have a nice cuppa on the go and waiting patiently.

PartyPotato · 28/08/2021 23:25

@BuckarooWithBruceGrobelaar I say this to myself every morning but it’s just not fair to the kids

Dancingonmoonlight · 28/08/2021 23:26

They say you dont know people until you have holidayed with them

I'm afraid this is true. I went on holiday with children and a very old dear friend and her two children age 12 and 10. It was awful. She is an advocate of 'gentle parenting' and continuously pleaded in a childlike voice whenever she begged them to do anything. Her children dictated the holiday. They are also extremely lazy and refused to walk anywhere and the 12 year old had to be in bed by 7pm with their mother!!! They were/are a product of their upbringing and what she sees as intelligent, engaging, easygoing children are instead children who constantly interrupt, and are lazy and spoilt. That holiday ruined our friendship and I have declined to go anywhere with that friend since. It highlighted how different we are, not just in our parenting styles.

Spotsmum · 28/08/2021 23:27

I was just off to bed but now I've poured myself another glass. Godspeed, OP!

Blossomtoes · 28/08/2021 23:27

I’m going to have to catch up with this in the morning. Can’t keep my eyes open any longer.

ohfourfoxache · 28/08/2021 23:27

So you don’t fancy holidaying with her/them again then?

Mummyoflittledragon · 28/08/2021 23:28

@lionheart

This reminds me of the time I offered to babysit a teacher's 5 year old child. The teacher must have been desperate to canvass her class of 16 year olds for a volunteer.

But as she was leaving the house I realised she hadn't mentioned a specific bedtimefor her daughter so I asked for some instruction:

'Oh Alexandra will tell you when she's ready for bed.'

Even as a 16 year old I knew that this would not end well.

Alexandra was never ready for bed and would not budge for love or money.

She was still awake at 11 when her mother returned (and was appalled to find the 5 year old awake).

What made it worse was that the teacher moaned about this state of play in to the whole class the next day:

'I'm a little disorganised becase Alexandra was so exhausted this morning. Lionheart babysat and let her stay up all night!'

I had the same thing happen. I was 20 and living abroad. I used to pick up 5yo b/g twins from school twice a week, give them a snack and teach them a bit of English. Basically I was fulfilling a nanny job with language skills. Single mum and her sister was paying me btw.

As a favour, she asked me if I could stay on foc to look after the children one evening. She’d be back at. 9. Bath then bed at 8. The boy played up, typical 5yo antics and I couldn’t get them to settle. So we sat in front of cartoons chatting thinking it wasn’t a major issue. They’d only be an hour late.

Just gone 9.30, she comes back and she’s with the bloke she’s obviously thinking about shagging. But she has a boyfriend and it’s not the same bloke. She screamed at me and threw me out of the house. Next day she invited me back, I thought to apologise and I naively went. Oh no. She ambushed me with her mate and tore strips off me for over an hour before throwing me out again and telling me not to come back. I imagine the nasty friend was taking over.

I have no idea how she expected me to put them to bed. It was impossible as they played off one another. I thought we were friends but this wasn’t the only favour I did for her. Looking back she was a nasty user and was obviously afraid the kids would blab about the guy she’d brought back. I wonder what he thought about her screaming at me. They were both colleagues btw so I had to suffer the indignity of seeing them regularly after that.

Haggisfish3 · 28/08/2021 23:29

Oh heavens. Hope it’s not too awful.

QueenBee52 · 28/08/2021 23:29
