I believe that if I will or want something enough, even in a slightly abstract form, it happens.

That my best friends house is unlucky and is pulling her life to pieces. It's old, weird stuff happens there and since they moved in, their lives have step by step fallen apart. I would never tell her as they've spent years and a lot of money doing it up but I swear it's a bad house.

memberofthewedding · 24/08/2021 02:19

I actually think I may have powers. blushconfused Anytime someone has done me wrong like quite badly I've wished bad on them and it's happened

Whenever anyone has done me wrong or annoyed me I have had a Voodoo spell placed on them. Not a spell to harm them (as in any physical harm) but a "spell of banishment" in that they will move out of my life. Either by physically moving or becoming so involved in other affairs that they will cease to have time to be interested in me.

Some annoying neighbours moved away from the area and another enemy became embroiled in legal problems of their own making.

I kind of believe odd socks are lucky. It started as a childish excuse because I found pairing them so bloody tedious but now I'd never wear matching socks to an important meeting or doctors appointment just in case they're actually bad luck 😂

AcrossthePond55 · 24/08/2021 02:29

@FancySomeChips

I sense when someone is very newly pregnant. I don’t know what it is, but it happens, all the time. Too often, it’s quite bizarre! When they aren’t showing or have literally just found out. Twice over the last few years I have had a “funny feeling” leading me to call a friend on the other side of the country and she has literally just wee’d on a stick and found out herself.
I had a coworker with this gift. She also could tell when we were in labor before we felt a twinge. It was uncanny.

Um....I still think 9/11 was the work of the evil Darth Cheney somehow.

Ihavehadenoughalready · 24/08/2021 02:32

I also sometimes think that streetlights burn out in my presence too often to be mere coincidence,

I believe aliens are on earth already and elite rich humans know.
I believe this as well
1forAll74 · 24/08/2021 02:49

I have never seen Hollyoaks, but my cousins daughter used to be in it. That's useless information I know, but that's all I know about the programme.

imjustsoworried · 24/08/2021 02:55

Reading too many of these too quickly caused me to type, 'did Santa have a tail' into google so thank you @doorornottodoor and @Raaaaaaarr for that Grin

imjustsoworried · 24/08/2021 02:56

I am pretty convinced that alternate universes exist.

Pixxie7 · 24/08/2021 03:04

The reason women can multitask is because they were men in a previous life.

Onthebrink87 · 24/08/2021 03:10

I have strange premonition like dreams. Not regularly but I dreamt as a child.inwas trying to convince my grandma to stop smoking as her heart would stop working, 3 days later - heart attack. I have told 3 people, 2 colleagues and a cousin that they where pregnant, all laughed as they hadn't missed a period, were on birth control etc - came back to week later to let me know they were indeed pregnant. Many more I can't think of off the top of my head. Also I could tell a friend in primary school exactly what was in her packed lunch, right down to the flavour of crisps and yoghurt and what was in her sandwiches - never wrong! I wish I had a "I know this weeks lottery numbers" super power instead!

Also my dd was suffering with indigestion (otherwise fit as a butcher's dog) and had been on and off for a few years, I told him he needed to see a gp as I thought it was his heart but he thought I was nuts. Went to the hospital with chest pain last Christmas, turns out he had suffered a minimum of 3 heart attacks and is now fully loaded with stents!!

Weirdest of all, I once had a ghost cat. Most cat owners will recognise the sound of a cat running up the stairs behind them or jumping off of a kitchen side. I'd never had my own cat since leaving home but continued to hear these types of noises then one day found black cat hair on my windowsills and on the back of the curtains. Then one day when I heard the jump from the kitchen side, out of desperation - like a mad woman, I opened the back door and said "Go on! Out you go!" Waited a moment then shut it. Never heard ghost cat return 😂😂

Onthebrink87 · 24/08/2021 03:14

And just to add with regards to the ghost cat, not actually someone who remotely believes in ghosts! I've experienced some strange things, but contently remind myself that our brains are extraordinary things that can play tricks on us!

A little while after my nanna passed, a college had told me that passed loved ones leave feathers etc. Countering away to myself at home i was bickering at my nanna to let her know how thoughtless she was not leaving me something so that I knew she was happy wherever she was. An hour later I found a PIGEON feather on my bed - that would be just her humour too, to leave me a grubby pigeon feather!!! (Very aware this was a coincidence but it made me chuckle and helped me a great deal actually)

BooseysMom · 24/08/2021 03:27

@Onthebrink87..that's all amazing.
The cat thing is creepy. I've never felt anything like this but then cats hate me..I think they sense I don't like them.

The magpie thing is so popular. I have always made myself say Hi Mr Magpie three times until DS said why don't I just say Hi Mr Magpie x2?? Now I do that. I don't go as far as to salute but do wave.

I think I have a weird connection to birds generally. A blackbird was actually staring at me once when I was driving past and I waved at it. Also other times birds have moved close to me and looked at me in an intense way. Yes, I'm the crazy bird lady of the village!

MeanderingGently · 24/08/2021 03:51

I believe that when my clock stops, I'm going to die.

Well, it's totally ridiculous, I know it is. I do have a clock, it's an old chiming clock, with a pendulum, which has been passed down the family so obviously my grandmother died and then my parents before I inherited it. It has tick-tocked and chimed through a number of years of my life now...and I used to joke that it will continue until I died.

Sadly I broke the mechanism winding it up the other day and it has gone silent. I think it is hundreds of pounds to get it mended and I can't afford that right now, but I'm terrified it's an omen.... I have even considered crowd-funding to get it mended before I breathe my last!!

I am hoping it is really an irrational belief of mine.....

Chocaholic9 · 24/08/2021 04:57

@U2HasTheEdge

That we are in some kind of computer game- basically we are sims, being controlled by some kind of sociopathic alien.
This isn't actually a totally insane belief from a scientific standpoint. It's something that some physicists also believe makes most sense. A physicist called Tom Campbell talks about it a lot on his Youtube channel. I don't think he believes that it's controlled by a sociopathic alien though.

Frezia · 24/08/2021 05:20

That inanimate objects have feelings. It started with seeing the Nutcracker as a child and my mum guilt tripping me into tidying my toys by making it a point how miserable they must feel lying around discarded. I've been sort of anthropomorphisizing things ever since and it's often causing me some distress. Eg. I don't have a name for my car and the thought of doing it feels too weird, but I do worry about its feelings when it's in use.

It also makes me more inclined towards hoarding, although the feeling of suffocation that kicks in because of too much clutter prevents me from going down that way. Then I touch and thank each thing I'm throwing/giving away to reassure it.

@WomanStanleyWoman

I sometimes catch myself thinking about how I’ll do something differently ‘next time around’ - as in when my life resets and starts again. It’s bizarre, as I know perfectly well that we only live once, but somewhere deep down, a tiny part of me hasn’t accepted it and thinks I’ll get to do this all again.
I do this. I find myself thinking that I must remember that so I do it differently next time round.

My conscious self is very much ‘when you’re dead, you’re dead’ but my subconscious is convinced that as soon as this one’s finished I’ll get another go at getting it right….

OrlandointheWilderness · 24/08/2021 06:20

@tensmum1964

That seeing one Magpie brings you bad luck unless you salute and say, "Hello Mr Magpie, I hope your family are safe and well" 🤣
That is ludicrous.

Everyone knows you say 'top of the morning to you, Mr Jones'.

OrlandointheWilderness · 24/08/2021 06:21

While saluting of course.

Meruem · 24/08/2021 06:29

The people who have seriously wronged me in life have all come to a bad end. But I believe that is because they were terrible people and they have brought about their own downfall. It was kind of inevitable.

I do just “know” things sometimes. When I was small I used to say that when I was grown up I’d have 2 DC, a boy then a girl. It wasn’t a wish, I firmly believed it. That’s exactly what happened. I also knew where I would live, but you could argue I made that happen. I have known I had certain illnesses before any symptoms developed. I also firmly believe the “universe” (or whatever you want to call it) will always take care of me. I’m not religious at all, I do not believe in god. But whenever I need something, I get it. I very rarely worry now in life because things just work out for me no matter what. So why worry?

PoorCatto · 24/08/2021 06:31

That I can smell that someone is pregnant. Lab testing urine for pregnancy is part of my job and I'm 90% accurate (I do put them on an analyser to confirm).

Pretty much anything that comes out of my mouth... My colleagues often tell me I'm weird.

chaosrabbitland · 24/08/2021 06:40

that plushies or stuffed toy animals arent just inanimate objects , but have feelings and can come to life , i watched a horror movie called i think dolls when i was a bit too young and the only bloke that made it out alive was the one who believed this .
every morning i arrange my considerable collection of plushie rabbits on my bed if any are disarranged and sadly yes i do talk to them .
i also arrange my dds when they have got in a mess as well .
