Is it normal for adult to nap every afternoon?

First time poster here...please tell me AIBU.
DH takes himself off for a nap every afternoon...he works from home (but NOT self-employed) and has lots of what I call 'downtime', as opposed to my job which is flippin full on for every second I am there. Sometimes he'll nap for 30 mins, but can be up to 2 hours. If we go out for a day, he will nap in car on way home (he does not drive so I'm always the one doing the driving) On weekends activities are limited due to his need for a nap. Jobs that need doing don't get done. AIBU to feel this is such a waste of a life to sleep it away like this? He is not even 50 yet...what does the future hold?

I've just read through the first page and seems that everyone is saying it's not normal and he must be unwell 😳 have any of you ever left the UK?! If it's not normal, and indicates illness, then literally most of the world is not normal and is unwell 😂

I never napped (occasionally on holiday) until this last 10 months, Covid/post viral fatigue and now Menopause have both resulted in the odd afternoon nap, usually just a quick 20 minute power nap but sometimes a proper sleep. How I'd have functioned in the office full time I don't know.

It's one of the benefits of working from home, I've been able to stay at work but rest when I've needed to without it being a huge deal. That says I have had medical reasons, otherwise I'd be getting it checked out.

I nap anything from and hour to the occasional 4 hours a day but I am not very well. I have a rare condition called Myasthenia Gravis and also suffer with Fibromyalgia and a severe digestive disorder. Alongside that I have been diagnosed with manic depression and generalised anxiety disorder (I wonder why!Confused).

I feel incredibly guilty but it is seriously not something I can do anything about. I would give anything to be able to get through a day without having to sleep and miss time with my children. Thankfully, I have the most wonderful, caring and supportive partner who always makes sure the children are never affected and when I am well enough I spend every waking second with them.

Has your husband had a proper health check? I know my situation is different but there genuinely could be an underlying health condition. It would be something I would be getting checked out to be on the safe side.

I also agree though he might just be someone whose body needs more sleep!

I would definitely have a nap at least once a day of I could

I often have a nap in the afternoons. It is a light sleep, as I feel fine when I wake up. Many countries have a siesta.
