Most ridiculous complaint

I was in McDonald’s today (I know 😬) and a woman came in to complain to the manager that her food had dropped on the floor yesterday and was demanding her money back, she said it happened on the way home. Aibu to think this is the most ridiculous complaint? I was amazed someone would actually come back the following day to complain about that, has anyone else heard of a more ridiculous complaint?

I used to work part time as an estate agent when I was a student. Lots of people think that because you are 'only an estate agent' and the butt of jokes it gave them the right to just behave appallingly the moment they stepped into the office. Had one woman walk in on a Saturday wanting to immediately view some properties. We were completely flat out booked with viewings and it was politely pointed out that weekends were our busiest period and that she would need to book ahead plus we also had to have time to notify tenants / owners etc. She then demanded that we hand over the keys to the empty properties and she would do the viewings herself. When told that this was not possible and all viewings had to be accompanied she screamed "who do you think I am, I'm not some criminal". "Well we have no idea who you are, you have literally walked off the street and demanded the keys to able £3 million quids worth of property.

Stupid twat

@BryanAdamsLeftAnkle

I had a patients relative call today to complain that we didn't call her to let her know patient was going home.

No... We told his wife... We won't be calling the whole family.....

Im over nursing these days.

Oh god yes! Happens all the time. Usually overseas family as well. No I am not calling the US at 4am to tell you we’re switching your auntie’s IV antibiotics to oral, and I don’t care if you are a Professor of Orthopaedics.
@Sadiecow, yet again I'm embarrassed for you. It is possible to have vision good enough for driving, but not good enough to see well close up.
How do I know? Because I have a child with a visual impairment.
How about you tell me your experience of visual impairments and sight loss?
And as for being light hearted, I'm struggling to see how that works.....
Yes, I think you need to give it up
@Sadiecow
Look up a Certificate of Visual Impairment and who is eligible and rules around driving. As someone else said, even someone with one eye still has the potential to drive as the rules for getting a CVI go on the vision in your best eye. It’s when you get issued with a CVI (or your vision is bad enough to qualify for a CVI) then you’re not allowed to drive.

@BananaMilkshakeWithCream my last comment was two days ago.... that's pretty given up!

My husband has only light and shadow perception in one eye (optic nerve damaged at birth) and drove very happily for 50 odd years, until he gave up for unrelated reasons.

Can we give up the partially sighted derail now? It was TWO DAYS AGO AND WE'VE MOVED PAST IT.

mineofuselessinformation · 26/08/2021 15:00

@iklboo, firstly, it's not up to you who posts what and when.
Secondly, it wasn't a derail.
I seriously doubt that anyone here would defend someone behaving like an entitled twat. The issue was that people clearly thought that the man who was the subject of the post couldn't possibly be telling the truth, and other posters here have also pointed out that is not the case.
One of the posts that I took issue with was thinly -veiled disablism.
I'm not trying to drag the whole thing up again, but clearly other posters have felt strongly enough to comment too.

Patients wife complained that the doctor had not called her to discuss husbands condition.
Doctor explained every thing to patient in detail every day. Asked patient to pass on to his wife. Explained to patient that legally could not discuss anything with wife without patients consent.
Patient in his 50’s with full capacity.
Wife escalated to GM .
Doctor still did not call wife as did not have patients consent.
Wife struggled to understand that her husband chose not to share all information, and it was on him and not Doctor.

Mum of 37 year old.... Pretty much the same. Add in.... He's hungry and no one has offered him food and this is ridiculous. Errr your son was offered food and declined and any updates you need to get from him.... Ps he's married and I'm not even telling his wife because he has capacity and it's his personal business.

A friend returned from a skiing holiday and immediately wrote to the holiday company to complain that the hotel was at the bottom of a big hill.

@Tooshytoshine

I worked in a famous chicken restaurant.

Customers would quite regularly complain that they had ordered the whole chicken but had only received two legs not four.

I would have to politely tell them a chicken only has two legs...

Ah yes, the ones with four legs, they're the racing chickens and you can't eat them. We can't catch them.

I used to volunteer at a local NT house famous for its art collection.

A woman came into the dining room and asks for the Rubens painting. "We don't have a Rubens in the house" I say. She was most insistent that we do. "A very famous and important Rubens" she says. She's so sure there's one I look in the catalogue but nothing. She turns away muttering that she can't believe it, the house was famous for its Rubens. She asked for a manager and I tell her he'll be at the front door. She told me I'm incompetent and she intends to complain about me and I don't deserve to have a job in an art gallery. The fact I'm a volunteer and it's not actually a job doesn't seem to matter to her.

As she leaves, she turns and sees the Rembrandt self portrait that the house is famous for. "That's it" she says to me. "That's the Rubens". "That's the Rembrandt" I say. Her response? "Well I MEANT Rembrandt".
