His arrogance is astounding. Going to visit a place for a bit of wild fun when for many, especially women, it's a place to live in fear, is disgusting. Their suffering is not your entertainment. Privilege at its finest.

And for those shouting 'victim blaming', did you feel the same way for the influencer who went around licking toilets when covid first kicked off abs ended up hospitalised? Because I shed no tears over it.

But there's quite some ignorance about other countries on here. In peacetime I'd go to Afghanistan like a shot. China is a perfectly safe and fascinating country to visit for culture and natural wonders, Ethiopia is mainstream for an explorer holiday, and Iran is hands down the most amazing country I've ever been to, with the most lovely and hospitable people I've ever come across.

So yes, people go to these countries for perfectly good reasons. Though this guy doesn't seem to have been one of them.

This really got to me too. He has such an overinflated sense of worth. It speaks volumes about the worth of the “tour guide” though, what a genuinely brave man accepting such risk for the sake of another. Perhaps he could say thank you by giving up his seat for the guy!

I have visited Chernobyl and it was very safe - I definitely wouldn't have had the balls to go to Afghanistan though!
