I’ll go first:

Losing a pet is not the same as losing a child.

Now your turn!

Vegan food tastes vile.

Your kids are more important than your new bloke.

The OW didn't break any marriage vows, the cheating husband did.

It's ok for my cats to shit all over your garden.

Some of these clearly aren't "uncontroversial" regardless of one's own personal opinion. Hmm

"There is currently a global pandemic"

Plumtree391 · 07/08/2021 11:01

I've only just started posting so don't know if I have the right but.......here we go.

Pet dishes can go in dishwasher with all the other washing up.

That one massive salad from a restaurant is in fact, not enough for three separate meals (even if you take it home in a doggy bag for the day after)

DolphinFC · 07/08/2021 11:02

Money that comes into a household from a woman is family money.

traintraveller · 07/08/2021 11:02

That having a free bar at a wedding is not normal

That if a couple split up the children can go with their father, or even stay in the house with him and the mother move out.

No, on Mumsnet if a couple are divorcing then the children will obviously be staying with the mum. It can be a thread where the woman has cheated, where the dad is the SAHP, where the woman is the one wanting the divorce but says the husband is a good dad and she just doesn't want to be with him herself anymore or where she just wants to move somewhere the husband doesn't. But whatever it is the comments are "Ask him to leave." "Have you got somewhere for you and the children to go?" because obviously children should stay with the parent who birthed them and/or has a uterus and the man, even if he's the wronged party, needs to be the one to leave his home or wave his children off when their mum leaves him.

If DH has hit or hurt you once there’s a massive chance he’ll do it again, and again.

My child eats lunch. Cue endless posts about said child being at risk of obesity.

It's not unreasonable to take your dog into a dog friendly cafe.

That people are animals.

That a woman is an adult human female.

LifesNotEnidBlyton · 07/08/2021 11:09

That if you don't have a "run away" fund then you're an idiot and need one right now. Because you might need to flee your home with the children one night because your DH, who has been a totally normal and loving husband and father for twenty years, might try and kill you with a sieve one morning over an argument about the washing up ,and because you haven't kept 10K hidden from him you'll be stuck there with him for eternity, with no way of starting a new life hundreds of miles away from him.

WomanStanleyWoman · 07/08/2021 11:09

That if you hire a cleaner, it’s okay to expect her to actually clean, rather than doing most of the work yourself so that she can just do ‘light dusting’ for a better hourly rate than you get yourself.
