Butter and marmite? DH has just walked in mid-breakfast prep and is HORRIFIED! I've never eaten it any other way...

That's like having a sausage & banana pizza. Envy

TheUnexpectedPickle · 01/08/2021 10:49

Am I the only one who likes Weetabix soggy then?

Lots of milk, microwave to achieve peak sogginess, sugar on top. Yummm

pinkstinks · 01/08/2021 10:51

Mmm yes it’s how I eat mine - little glass of milk on the side - the only way, never gross and soggy!

TheNinjaWife · 01/08/2021 10:51

Out of all things edible, weetabix is literally the last thing I would choose to eat in any form! Even the smell makes me heave. My DH and Dd are the same. We all love marmite though.

Chocoqueen · 01/08/2021 10:53

Ahhh, I loved wheatabix with better and marmite when I was younger! Haven't had it in years. YANBU!

Mandalay246 · 01/08/2021 10:54

I wouldn't eat it with butter as I only like butter on hot food, but it's nice with Vegemite.

AbsolutelyPatsy · 01/08/2021 10:56

one of my earliest memories, aged about 4, is having weetabix with syrup with my bf

VickyEadieofThigh · 01/08/2021 10:56

@RandomMess

YABU to eat weetabix full stop, it's vile Grin
So much THIS.
Chikapu · 01/08/2021 10:59

Every day we move a little further away from God...

If you've never eaten any other way how come your husband has never noticed it before?

LindaEllen · 01/08/2021 10:59

I'll admit I've never tried it with butter and marmite, but honestly, it's sounds horrific! YABVVVVVVVVVVVU!

Musicaltheatremum · 01/08/2021 11:01

My dad puts butter on it!

Antwerpen · 01/08/2021 11:02

@Janaih

Biscuit
Has that biscuit got butter and marmite on it? Grin
harriethoyle · 01/08/2021 11:03

@Chikapu I don't eat it very often and he just happened to have bought some for the dsd so I tucked in with alacrity! He already despairs of my bovril on toast habit...

Butter and jam here, have done since I was a child

tiredanddangerous · 01/08/2021 11:04

My DM used to give us weetabix with butter on back in the 80s so I guess it is a thing!

hyperbole001 · 01/08/2021 11:04
@SpacePug no, it's just like eating cold toast. My mum always used to make our weetabix like this and all my sibs eat it this way too. Never with milk!
Are you pretending to not know that it's a breakfast cereal? I'm confused

harriethoyle · 01/08/2021 11:05

@tiredanddangerous I am a child of the 80s...! I'm confused by your confusion @hyperbole001?

OP posts:
TurquoiseDragon · 01/08/2021 11:06

My ex used to eat Weetabix with butter on. I hate Weetabix anyway but this made me shudder. And Marmite can go to hell.

Tusue · 01/08/2021 11:07

Personally 😊it’s up to you !
If that’s how you like it that’s how you should have it
As for the husband -ignore him ,what’s it got to do with him !
you know what they say ,don’t knock it till you’ve tried it -although I wouldn’t even try it myself😉

Orangesandlemons82 · 01/08/2021 11:08

I like them with butter and jam Blush

LobotomisedIceSkatingFan · 01/08/2021 11:08

My mum used to to butter Weetabix for her lunch. It was when she was a) a librarian and b) in the 60s/70s which outs rather a different complexion on things. I think Marmite is a step too far although I can't explain why.

harriethoyle · 01/08/2021 11:09

You're missing out @Tusue! Grin

Another one that hates soggy cereal. Butter on weetabix was always a favourite! Especially with Nutella on it

hyperbole001 · 01/08/2021 11:13
**@tiredanddangerous* I am a child of the 80s...! I'm confused by your confusion @hyperbole001*?
I'm a child of the 80's too, not sure what relevance that has... Did you have no idea weetabix is a cereal?
