Sorry everyone I didn't post a new thread last night but I was a bit freaked out by the comment about finding me online at the end.

Anyway as the world's most boring update it is still here but someone is coming round about lunchtime to pick it up.

I rang 101 and reported it and that I was concerned they'd essentially vanished. They said there wasn't anything they could do about the car as its on private land but I could be liable for any damage if I moved it and that they would check on the registered owner.

I posted it on a couple of the local Facebook groups last night saying
"Anyone know whose cat this is? Please get them to contact me urgently on xxxx as itll be being towed tomorrow"

I had a response from the guys DS and she said she'd contact him and get him ring me. He hasn't rang me but she messaged me back to say he'd collect it at lunchtime if that was OK. I've said fine but we going out at at 2 so if he's not here before then he won't be able to get it till we get back later.

And that's it really.

If he has work tomorrow he will need his car, when you get home

Or that's his 'weekend fun' car for when he takes the bikes out and he's got another car at home that he'll use for work. Bets are he doesn't need this pick up truck thing.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 01/08/2021 16:29

@QueeniesCroft

I'm not in any way suggesting this , but I'm strangely entertained by the idea of putting up a fence around the car. No gate, obviously, just the fence. Some neighbours of ours had terrible trouble with bastard campervans parking on their land. They put up signs and it did no good. Then one day, when a particularly entitled one was caught emptying his toilet tank on the neighbour's field, the neighbour told him to shift. Campervan man told him (wrongly) that he was entitled to park there if he wanted. So neighbour padlocked him in. Eventually, campervan man called the police and the neighbour was told to let them out, but it took a while and to be fair, the police officer didn't seem in any way bothered. It was very entertaining!
My dad used to be a Special Constable, when we lived in a Warwickshire village, and one day some Travellers set up camp on one of a farmer’s fields, and refused to move.

He loaded up the muck spreader with his ripest, smelliest manure, and started fertilising the field, at the end furthest away from the encampment. The Travellers were so cross, they rang the police, who told them that the farmer was well within his rights to fertilise his own field.

They packed up and moved on.

God, that reminds me of our arsehole neighbours where both teenagers had a car, both parents had a sensible car, and both parents also had a Fun car each. 6 cars for 4 people. And they complained about where we parked our SINGLE car.

I laughed when they said they were moving to Fulham
Good luck finding 6 parking spaces every day

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 01/08/2021 16:31

@KateTheEighth

This is all you need to know

Equal amounts. Do away with numbers of eggs and grams of flour and ml of milk.

Oh and a v hot oven and lots of oil

I need to try this - thank you, @KateTheEighth.

Now I want Yorkshire puddings 🙄

newnortherner111 · 01/08/2021 16:36

Is there any clue about where he works or who for? A tweet to the company with a link to the thread here, perhaps? His work colleagues would give him grief.

MaMelon · 01/08/2021 16:38

6 cars?? Bloody hell! Shock Our neighbour bought an big, old army truck and parked it opposite our house, rather than opposite his or on his driveway (beside his own lovely shiny car sat). That was the view from my living room for months and months on end, apart from the odd day he'd take it on some 'fun' activity somewhere. DH finally asked him if he was ever planning to move it and he got really antsy. Eventually moved it onto his own driveway (where it sits for months and months on end apart from the odd trip out as per), and we no longer speak - result!

The police could really easily trace the owner from the number plate and tell him it's illegally parked and that he must come and get it. It wouldn't be that much trouble for them. They are Unhelpful.

It's not that simple. For one thing ots not illegally parked. Secondly they can find out who owns the car but won't necessarily have any means of contacting him other than sending someone out to his home address which under the circumstances is a total waste of resources

SmokeyDevil · 01/08/2021 16:47

Enjoy your lunch and ignore them from now on. I'd stay out even longer to be honest and not let him out at all until tomorrow. Say you lost the keys to the gate.

6demandingchildren · 01/08/2021 16:47

I'm sat in a hospital car park waiting for my son, I have been to the cafe and got a tuna roll a millionaires shortcake and this chocolate Danish (it wasn't that nice) I'm stuffed but now all I want it a carvery Sad
Can't wait to get home and tell DH about this one as he also gets enraged with CF and their parking habits.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 01/08/2021 16:49

When you say equal amounts, do you mean by volume?

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 01/08/2021 16:50

Oh Lord, I should know that!

I was on that yorkshire thread.

EL8888 · 01/08/2021 16:54

What an impressive CF. He’s even more of a dick than l originally thought

LakieLady · 01/08/2021 16:56

I really hope the knobhead Lycra lout has been back to move his car, only to find the gate still locked and blocked and nobody home.

And I think it would be terribly unfortunate if the OP had to carry some sort of corrosive liquid past his car to her truck to take it away for safe disposal and some of it unfortunately happened to get slopped onto the CF's car.

Hannayeah · 01/08/2021 16:59

It sounds like he’s playing some kind of game and thinks he’s winning by leaving his car there.

SpnBaby1967 · 01/08/2021 17:00

I cant believe what a dick he is being!!

Mountainpika · 01/08/2021 17:04

Ooh - you in labour? Well this thread will take your mind off things.

How have I been out four hours and this is still not resolved.

Hope you had the biggest Yorker going op and your dad is ok, I can understand things like this being very stressful. 💐

Billybagpuss · 01/08/2021 17:07

Offs yorkie not yorker 😂

NeverDropYourMooncup · 01/08/2021 17:07

If you're rural, aren't you up at ten to sparrowfart to deal with the horses and any other animals?

'If he isn't there at 5am to collect it, I'm reporting it as a stolen and dumped vehicle and the Forestry Commission will remove it as it's blocking their access'.

He doesn't have to know how much of this is accurate.

MotherOfDemons · 01/08/2021 17:09

At this point you gave him plenty of chances and when you said by 2pm he should have been here at 10am to get his bloody car!!!

I would get a clamp and just clamp him, release fee of 100 going up every day until he gets his damn car!

BlueEyesWhiteDragon · 01/08/2021 17:12

Am back. Sad to report I did not eat the whole thing. Couldn't even squeeze in a dessert. Disappointed in myself!
