Locked parking thread 2

BlueEyesWhiteDragon · 01/08/2021 07:38

Sorry everyone I didn't post a new thread last night but I was a bit freaked out by the comment about finding me online at the end.

Anyway as the world's most boring update it is still here but someone is coming round about lunchtime to pick it up.

I rang 101 and reported it and that I was concerned they'd essentially vanished. They said there wasn't anything they could do about the car as its on private land but I could be liable for any damage if I moved it and that they would check on the registered owner.

I posted it on a couple of the local Facebook groups last night saying
"Anyone know whose cat this is? Please get them to contact me urgently on xxxx as itll be being towed tomorrow"

I had a response from the guys DS and she said she'd contact him and get him ring me. He hasn't rang me but she messaged me back to say he'd collect it at lunchtime if that was OK. I've said fine but we going out at at 2 so if he's not here before then he won't be able to get it till we get back later.

And that's it really.

@DepressedDD

I would definitely not be letting him have the car back today now. What a bloody twat, fucking about cycling again while enjoying another day of free parking. Hopefully if he doesn’t have his car for work tomorrow he might be slightly more inconvenienced.
I bet he works from home Sad
CandyLeBonBon · 01/08/2021 15:46

@Blossomtoes yes. Why are being so hostile?

itsgettingwierd · 01/08/2021 15:46

I made a roast today on the back of your carvery pics!

Ds and I hoping to go out for one next week.

Cant believe he's left his car still. He really is a bolshy fuckwit!

Blossomtoes · 01/08/2021 15:47

I’m not. Simply pointing out that your link has no relevance to this very entertaining thread.

PizzaPiePizzaPie · 01/08/2021 15:47

Could the car accidentally get really mucky. No damage, just it’s parked on a farm. Wouldn’t be that much of a surprise for it to get covered in muck would it?

Kinneddar · 01/08/2021 15:49

If he still hasn't collected the car this evening can you get out towed? I know there's lots of debate on this, but not sure what the actual answer is

If you mean by police or a towing company The actual answer is no.

CandyLeBonBon · 01/08/2021 15:49

I beg to differ @Blossomtoes - your posts are unnecessarily combative. You aren't thread police. I saw something that I thought might be useful. The op can take it or leave it. As can anyone else. You don't get to police my posts.

I don’t want to police you or your posts. HTH.
Congressdingo · 01/08/2021 15:52

Do you have a failsafe, idiotproof recipe? I forget to order some frozen ones & am going to make my own today. Never done it before
Easiest way is weigh the ingredients. So for eg, this will get a a tray of 12 muffin type puddings
200 ml eggs =4 large eggs
200 ml milk
200ml flour = 140gms

Adjust to how many you want.
Need the pan and whatever fat you use hot. And dont open oven til done.

QueeniesCroft · 01/08/2021 15:57

I'm not in any way suggesting this , but I'm strangely entertained by the idea of putting up a fence around the car. No gate, obviously, just the fence.
Some neighbours of ours had terrible trouble with bastard campervans parking on their land. They put up signs and it did no good. Then one day, when a particularly entitled one was caught emptying his toilet tank on the neighbour's field, the neighbour told him to shift. Campervan man told him (wrongly) that he was entitled to park there if he wanted. So neighbour padlocked him in. Eventually, campervan man called the police and the neighbour was told to let them out, but it took a while and to be fair, the police officer didn't seem in any way bothered. It was very entertaining!

@Mumdiva99

I'm also doubting the sister is real. He would have been by now. I'm fuming on your behalf.....

(Who else covers the whole carvery in cranberry sauce.....mmmmm).

Who else thinks it would be a good idea to cover the car in Cranberry sauce. It's now wasp time and they do love something sweet.

Yes, do you know someone with a muck spreader?
Tistheseason17 · 01/08/2021 16:01

Now, I want a carvery!

melj1213 · 01/08/2021 16:02

Jfc I posted this morning before taking DD to a sports competition and when we arrived there was no phone signal to check the thread so I was expecting to come back and have missed the CF showing up. A full day of competing, a 2nd place trophy and a carvery ordered for delivery later and I have just read through the whole thread to find out he still hasn't appeared!

I agree with pps that at this point he is desperately trying to avoid having to swallow his pride and ask the OP to open the gate and is hoping she will leave the gate open at some point and he can nip in and take his car back.

At this point, since the car is an annoyance rather than an inconvenience at the moment, I would no longer make any effort to get it collected- you tried and they fucked you about so unless he comes grovelling at your door I would forget about it until tomorrow morning when you contact the FC about it blocking their access route.

Congressdingo · 01/08/2021 16:08
@Congressdingo I have an android so may be different, but going into settings and searching 'time' there's a toggle that says "use the date and time provided by your network". Is that it?
I've done it and currently its 6 minutes out of synch. Will turn it off and on again soon see if that helps. Thank you, may owe you a carvery dinner. You got a carvery near you? Doesn't have to be Toby's apparently.

newnortherner111 · 01/08/2021 16:09

@melj1213 congratulations on your DDs 2nd place.

Second place- the man with this vehicle has probably never been second in the bedroom as it were.

I would not even answer the door to him today.

Flamglimglubberty · 01/08/2021 16:09

Some suggestions:

 1. Birdseed all over CF car so it gets covered in bird shit

 2. Sit back, enjoy a bottle or two of prosecco at the carvery... You couldn't possibly move your truck from across the gate after so much drink if he turns up as that's illegal

lastcall · 01/08/2021 16:11

.... we're going to fill up another thread before this is resolved

IndieTara · 01/08/2021 16:11

Mmmm Carvery

Congressdingo · 01/08/2021 16:13

@70isaLimitNotaTarget

Just lurking and adding some Yorkshire Pudding related chat .

My DS has Yorkshire Puddings with anything , and Yes - Christmas Dinner Xmas Grin

Brian Turner used to make them on Ready Steady Cook with the cup measuring method and added malt vinegar - his Mum's recipe . He didn't know why but said he didn't dare divert from her recipe .

I make the batter and then add Worcestershire sauce. Also often dried herbs, take your pick depending on the meat. I also make the batter in the morning so it's got time to meld. I also use flavoured oils in the pan. Hth.
MaMelon · 01/08/2021 16:14

This 2nd thread is probably better than the first.

The CF is digging his heels in, isn't he - 'you inconvenience me by locking my car in, well fuck you, I'll inconvenience you by leaving my car exactly where it is until I feel like moving it - and I'll use the other car in the meantime, knowing that you can't touch it because you'll be held responsible for any damage'. Arsehole.

Bollindger · 01/08/2021 16:18

If he has work tomorrow he will need his car, when you get home, get out a bottle of wine, walk out drink in hand when he arri ex , sorry can't move the car, show him the wine, tell him to come back tomorrow at 10.
