Locked parking thread 2

Sorry everyone I didn't post a new thread last night but I was a bit freaked out by the comment about finding me online at the end.

Anyway as the world's most boring update it is still here but someone is coming round about lunchtime to pick it up.

I rang 101 and reported it and that I was concerned they'd essentially vanished. They said there wasn't anything they could do about the car as its on private land but I could be liable for any damage if I moved it and that they would check on the registered owner.

I posted it on a couple of the local Facebook groups last night saying
"Anyone know whose cat this is? Please get them to contact me urgently on xxxx as itll be being towed tomorrow"

I had a response from the guys DS and she said she'd contact him and get him ring me. He hasn't rang me but she messaged me back to say he'd collect it at lunchtime if that was OK. I've said fine but we going out at at 2 so if he's not here before then he won't be able to get it till we get back later.

And that's it really.

If he reports his car as stolen, could the op get into trouble?

Wouldn’t have thought so. She’s got the Facebook convos (even if they aren’t the actual sister)

I think he would get into trouble for wasting police time.

Unlikely she’s already reported it to the police

OP has the note which admits liability.
NowWeAreSuckingDieselFella · 01/08/2021 15:32

The thing is even if it wasn't his sister, you'd think he'd have come back to his car by now. He must need it at some point!

No because its not stolen. He knows where he is & can get it anytime. Hes made no attempt to collect it.He'd be the one who'd get into bother for making a false report and/or wasting police time

Why don't we have an edit button?

Mumdiva99 · 01/08/2021 15:35

I'm also doubting the sister is real. He would have been by now. I'm fuming on your behalf.....

(Who else covers the whole carvery in cranberry sauce.....mmmmm).

DepressedDD · 01/08/2021 15:36

I would definitely not be letting him have the car back today now. What a bloody twat, fucking about cycling again while enjoying another day of free parking. Hopefully if he doesn’t have his car for work tomorrow he might be slightly more inconvenienced.

icelollycraving · 01/08/2021 15:36

@HaveringWavering

I love a roast. I don’t do cavrvery though but perhaps a carvery takeaway may be ok

@icelollycraving I’m intrigued. What is it about carveries that you object to if it is not the food?

I don’t like any kind of buffet/ salad bar etc. People huffing and touching stuff or as I call it lick it and stick it.

@BruceAndNosh

What do we win in the sweepstake?

First prize - a day cycling with CF ParkingWanker

Second prize - a week cycling with CF ParkingWanker

Then I would like to change my entry to:
  • 6am, April 31st
  • a small boiled egg
  • half a grape
Mountainpika · 01/08/2021 15:38

Mention upthread of a bird nesting in it. Build a nest on the wheel under the arch and claim it's a very rare something or other and so the car can't be moved till the eggs have hatched and the youngsters fledged, which takes about 6 weeks. These birds are a protected species and must not be interfered with.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 01/08/2021 15:38

I think a suitable punishment would be that he has to change his name by deed poll to Cheeky Fucker Parking-Wanker, for at least a year.

gurglebelly · 01/08/2021 15:38

@BlankTimes

I wonder where he works?

There are lots of roles where an employee who behaves so unreasonably could be said to be bringing his firm into disrepute.

His behaviour is timestamped and documented on here and on FB, so he cannot say there was any misunderstanding. He has been recognised on FB because his sister contacted the OP, so someone contacting his boss about his behaviour is perfectly feasible.

In addition he's wasted Police time by having to be traced because of his own conceited behaviour.

The longer this goes on, the worse he's making things for himself.

Take your time with your lunch OP and enjoy every mouthful.

Unless he has a branded car or he parked while on company business, or while wearing a uniform/lanyard, or he ran off shouting 'I work for x, and can do what I like so fuck off' it would be a huge stretch to consider this bringing a company into disrepute.

Just because someone is employed by a company and does something knobby, it doesn't make it the business of the company they work for.

Or stick a rare orchid under one tyre.
JacquelineCarlyle · 01/08/2021 15:39

What a cheeky fucker - all he had to do yesterday was knock and apologise and ask for you to let his car out. Instead he has caused you more inconvenience and no signs of an apology.

I hope you give him an earful when he does turn up (or id be tempted to not let him out today hoping that he needs his car for work tomorrow and he experiences being properly inconvenienced).

I'm another who would be wary of the 'sister' as you really have no idea who she is!

CandyLeBonBon · 01/08/2021 15:39

Possibly not @Blossomtoes but it might offer some useful advice and could be a solution if things don't resolve!

KnightandDay · 01/08/2021 15:40

I'm apoplectic with rage on your behalf! The cheek of him Angry Angry
I suppose there's a chance the sister is not actually his sister and just some randomer who's trying to wind you up.
If he still hasn't collected the car this evening can you get out towed? I know there's lots of debate on this, but not sure what the actual answer is 🤔

Blossomtoes · 01/08/2021 15:41

Yes it might - in cloud cuckoo land. Did you even bother reading it?
StepawayfromtheBiscuittin · 01/08/2021 15:43

Placemarking.
OP I hope you have a lovely lunch out.
This man's behaviour is outrageous. Dear help anyone who knows him if he's this big a knob.

Needapoodle · 01/08/2021 15:44
