Locked parking thread 2

BlueEyesWhiteDragon · 01/08/2021 07:38

Sorry everyone I didn't post a new thread last night but I was a bit freaked out by the comment about finding me online at the end.

Anyway as the world's most boring update it is still here but someone is coming round about lunchtime to pick it up.

I rang 101 and reported it and that I was concerned they'd essentially vanished. They said there wasn't anything they could do about the car as its on private land but I could be liable for any damage if I moved it and that they would check on the registered owner.

I posted it on a couple of the local Facebook groups last night saying
"Anyone know whose cat this is? Please get them to contact me urgently on xxxx as itll be being towed tomorrow"

I had a response from the guys DS and she said she'd contact him and get him ring me. He hasn't rang me but she messaged me back to say he'd collect it at lunchtime if that was OK. I've said fine but we going out at at 2 so if he's not here before then he won't be able to get it till we get back later.

And that's it really.

What an absolute dickhead. Entitled wanker.

idontunderstandbananas · 01/08/2021 15:10

JenniferAllisonPhillipaSue Sun 01-Aug-21 14:01:11 CF isn't actually out cycling somewhere in the forest. CF is cycling in lazy circles, popping back to the car every five minutes or so to see whether the gates have been opened yet (he's hoping the OP will leave the gates open when she goes out). He'll be close by, watching, you can be sure of that.

I think this is probably right and how creepy is that he's waiting in the woods and watching OP's house. Shock

The CFery of it all is astounding! I wonder if you will continue to have problems with the CF driver? It sounds like he lives in the area and really enjoys spending time in the woods around your house so once his truck is released will he be back again days or weeks later trying to park on your property again or parking across your gates or sticking dead animal heads on posts around your property Shock He sounds crazy tbh!

ifIwerenotanandroid · 01/08/2021 15:11

@Mountainpika

Surely it's not Toby Carvery Takeaways but Toby Carvery Towaways.
Grin That's where we've all been going wrong!
BluebellsGreenbells · 01/08/2021 15:11

Is the sister local or are we talking someone on holiday?

dapsnotplimsolls · 01/08/2021 15:14

@ifIwerenotanandroid

What do we win in the sweepstake?

A carvery dinner?

With OP's DB?

With the CF?

Someone from this thread popping round to make us perfect Yorkshire puddings?

A chance to meet the 'third of the size & 100 times as angry' dog, who sounds amazing?

A car?

Booby prize - cycling with CF and angry dog running behind, nipping at ankles.
atlastifoundit · 01/08/2021 15:16

@BlackAmericanoNoSugar

Wouldn't it be deliciously ironic if he were to suffer an injury while cycling that required access through the OP's gate to rescue him?
This actually happens with monotonous regularity at the Forestry Commission land near us. Ambulance has to turn out around every fortnight or so, and we get the helimed a couple of times a year. Forest cycling isn't without its hazards.

Lamb

Crumble with custard

That's what we're having too!

Cailleach1 · 01/08/2021 15:16

Op, you don't know that it is the owner's sister on facebook. You don't even know they type of people who supposedly own the car. They might not even be the true owners. They could have made an initial deliberate trespass for their own convenience. They could also be dodgy types who are casing your joint. You have stables. Are there horses or livestock?

They have a excuse for when they come around a-knocking. Seeing what you have and if anyone is home. They may be opportunistic. It would be great if you could get the vehicle towed and the police or Council to deal with them. How on earth will you know who is the actual owner of the vehicle when/ if they turn up.

You also need that no trespassers sign up in large writing. They keep coming on to your land, and are climbing on your gate to do so.

BruceAndNosh · 01/08/2021 15:20

What do we win in the sweepstake?

First prize - a day cycling with CF ParkingWanker

Second prize - a week cycling with CF ParkingWanker

SmudgeButt · 01/08/2021 15:20

Hoping he shows up at the door at 10 pm when it's tipping down with rain.

Presumably you will already be in your jimjams and can say "oh deary me, I certainly can't be expected to go out in that nasty weather at this time of night!! Shame you didn't pick it up at lunch time like your sister said you would."

Slame door shut.

EvilPea · 01/08/2021 15:21

He’s playing the game that his car is more of an inconvenience to op than him not having his car.
Which might win now. But presumably he’s going to need it at some point?

CaffeineAndNicotine · 01/08/2021 15:21

Inam at work on a break so just marking place so I dont lose this later!

Also post an update on your fb post explaining you are now out Grin

LavenderAskew · 01/08/2021 15:22

I so want a carvery now - yet still can't sit in doors in restaurants with my family where I am.

I don't think I've ever been in a Toby Carvery either. What have I been doing with my life!!

SunshineCake · 01/08/2021 15:22

Are you sure the sister is his sister ? I've been fretting..

Blossomtoes · 01/08/2021 15:22

How on earth will you know who is the actual owner of the vehicle when/ if they turn up

The fact that they’ve got the keys to it might be a clue.

He's not winning though, is he? The OP may be annoyed, but the locked gate and the unwanted obstruction are not causing her any inconvenience at all.
sunshinesupermum · 01/08/2021 15:25

How on earth will you know who is the actual owner of the vehicle when/ if they turn up

'The fact that they’ve got the keys to it might be a clue.'

Not necessarily if CF gives his keys to someone else to collect the car as he can't be arsed to face OP.

In which case, what does it matter? They’re authorised to drive it.
FleetwoodRaincoat · 01/08/2021 15:27

I can't believe the CFery that goes on! Good on you OP for sticking to your guns. We have a driveway that often gets used by other people (blocking us in) so I know how annoying it is. Hope you enjoyed your carvery.

Dollywilde · 01/08/2021 15:28

Ok, I’m a reasonable woman but fuck it, damage the car now. Break a wing mirror or smash the windscreen or something. When he does arrive claim ignorance. He can’t prove anything, it was probably a deer which got spooked because there’s not usually a car there.

He should pay for this.

UrgentExit · 01/08/2021 15:28

post an update on your fb post explaining you are now out

I wouldn't put out any notes, toys, or messages via Facebook. Where you are and what you are doing OP, is entirely your own business.

The crux of it is that the man was told he couldn't leave his vehicle where he parked it. He decided to ignore and so when, how and by whom he is facilitated, is entirely his problem, no one else's.

butterpuffed · 01/08/2021 15:28

@BluebellsGreenbells

I'd be asking more whether the sister is fictitious .
Redglitter · 01/08/2021 15:28

I think at this stage the OP is past caring. So long as someone turns up with the keys and drives the car away, that's really all that matters.

Honestly I think I would tbh. "You left your car over night in a forest, what did you expect? You're lucky birds haven't started nesting in it."

It's a little bit fanciful to think that a criminal got children and bicycles and parked on private land on the off chance that the owner would have an insurance policy that requires the gate to be kept locked so they had an excuse to case the joint don't you think ?

Did they also predict that the OP would resort to FB and have a handy fake account in the group she posted in? Grin

OddsNSodsBitsNBobs · 01/08/2021 15:30

Settling down for the evening with this good old parking porn 😆.

Stand firm OP but I can see this crossing into tomorrow.
