Locked parking thread 2

BlueEyesWhiteDragon · 01/08/2021 07:38

Sorry everyone I didn't post a new thread last night but I was a bit freaked out by the comment about finding me online at the end.

Anyway as the world's most boring update it is still here but someone is coming round about lunchtime to pick it up.

I rang 101 and reported it and that I was concerned they'd essentially vanished. They said there wasn't anything they could do about the car as its on private land but I could be liable for any damage if I moved it and that they would check on the registered owner.

I posted it on a couple of the local Facebook groups last night saying
"Anyone know whose cat this is? Please get them to contact me urgently on xxxx as itll be being towed tomorrow"

I had a response from the guys DS and she said she'd contact him and get him ring me. He hasn't rang me but she messaged me back to say he'd collect it at lunchtime if that was OK. I've said fine but we going out at at 2 so if he's not here before then he won't be able to get it till we get back later.

And that's it really.

Muses if Yorkshire puddings would go with tonight's salmon

KatherineOfGaunt · 01/08/2021 14:06

@andweallsingalong

"fine, I'm calling the tow company" would be my reply and I'd be tempted to add "is he always such an entitled arse hole?"
Much better reply than my suggestion!
PuzzledObserver · 01/08/2021 14:06

“I’m going out now. The earliest I will be back will be xxx.

The gates can not be left unlocked as a condition of our insurance. I have a business to run and can not sit in the house all day on the off chance he will come to retrieve his car, which is trespassing on my property despite him explicitly being told it was private land.

Therefore, when your brother wants to collect his car, he needs to message me first to check it is convenient. Also be aware that the FC use the track for access and if they need to do so, they will not hesitate to move the car out of the way. If I need to use the track to access my land, as I was doing on Saturday when he left it there, I will have the car towed and send him the bill.”

Then go about your life absolutely as normal. No waiting in or just hanging on just in case he comes, he comes at a prearranged time, to suit you.

Loubilou09 · 01/08/2021 14:06

@BruceAndNosh

Agree to move the stuffed toys (even tho they are hilarious). Park truck in front of gates. Leave note on his car saying you are not available to unlock the gate until 6. 43pm.

That's 6.43 precisely. Not before or after

No....no more notes, no more.

Honestly the more she engages, the more he thinks he has won.

Do nothing!!

PegasusReturns · 01/08/2021 14:07

Just go out with your car parked in front of the gate.

What a wanker.

No - no more explanations. It just sounds a bit desperate and you care more about the car being moved than he does.

Honestly....just leave it and show absolutely no interest in wanting the car moved.

SixesAndEights · 01/08/2021 14:07

@BlueEyesWhiteDragon

I'm trying to compose a reply to his Dsis but all I've got is either an absolute rant.

I'll probably just go wit. I am now out. I will let you know when is convenient to get car from the scrap yard

Just don't engage further!
godmum56 · 01/08/2021 14:07

@minisoksmakehardwork

And absolutely leave the dogs loose while you're away from property.
no do not....if he does manage to get in, it puts the dogs at risk
Lulola · 01/08/2021 14:07

Where in the country are you? There’s enough of us here to come and create an army for you so that he can’t try intimidate you/damage anything!

I bet he’s a shocking husband because he is clearly in the right about everything and can do whatever the fuck he wants.

WetBench · 01/08/2021 14:08

He is absolutely entitled and cheeky, just message the sister saying as he is busy cycling the tow truck is on the way and car is being towed and impounded, he can knock for details and pay the impound lot for release. Fuck me he’s a knob.

trappedsincesundaymorn · 01/08/2021 14:08

"DSiS. This has now become totally unacceptable. Your brother is to collect his car between 6 and 7pm tonight otherwise I will consider it abandoned and arrange for it's removal. I will then seek through legal channels, the costs of doing so. I would also remind you that the property is covered by CCTV and any attempt to damage the gates shall be recorded and the evidence handed to the police."

Would be my text to her.

PizzaPiePizzaPie · 01/08/2021 14:09

I can’t believe this is escalating again. I wouldn’t let him in today. He said he was coming and he hasn’t, fuck him.
You’ve tried to help him. Don’t facilitate it now to his convenience.

Wizzbangfizz · 01/08/2021 14:09

Get it towed seriously. Don't engage with him any further.

FenceSplinters · 01/08/2021 14:09

@Loubilou09

The thing is HE IS WINNING at this....sadly....

And you are letting him :(

I wouldn't do anything more, don't put toys out, don't engage with sister, stop running around trying to find out who owns the car. JUST IGNORE, IGNORE, IGNORE until he comes to your door and apologises.

Leave the car alone, got out an refuse to engage with anyone other than him. Even if it takes a week.

Agreed.
trappedsincesundaymorn · 01/08/2021 14:09

You can of course chose whatever time, but you don't want to rush lunch and miss out on all the wine. Grin

Pellewsmate · 01/08/2021 14:09

Is there a point at which the car becomes yours legally?
When we had horses left fly grazing I did a bit of research, and put up a notice on the field gate which stated that after 14 days the horses legally became ours and at that point we would be having them destroyed. Worked a treat.

astoundedgoat · 01/08/2021 14:09

I wouldn't engage any further. Get rid of the toys around it, and call 101 to get a timeframe for towing it. Stop contacting the sister.

The cheek is jawdropping!

SixesAndEights · 01/08/2021 14:10

No - no more explanations. It just sounds a bit desperate and you care more about the car being moved than he does.

This!!! Every time you engage with them it shows them how annoying it is to you. He's behaving like a CF because he sees how desperate you are.

Don't write any messages, emails, notes, anything.

drizzleabit · 01/08/2021 14:10

I'm also so enraged by this! Jackass is to mild a name for this selfish twat. Do you think that maybe he, his sis or someone he knows has read the thread and is playing a game with you?

sandragreen · 01/08/2021 14:11

I wouldn't respond to her.

Take away the toys.

Leave a vehicle in front of the gates as well as keeping them locked.

Drink LOADS.

Ignore any visitors - you don't have to open your door to anyone. Put the ball in his court. Let him call the police and tell them what he ahs done.

FrippEnos · 01/08/2021 14:11

@Snazzysausage

It wouldn't surprise me if the CF turns up while OP's out,with bolt cutters, to extricate the car.He's already demonstrated he's got balls the size of a baked bean - if that.
That would be breaking and entering with the additional damage to property
BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 01/08/2021 14:11

"It seems pointless dealing with this through an intermediary. You have my number, give it to him and tell him to contact me by text and I will let him know when it's convenient for me to unlock my gates."

newnortherner111 · 01/08/2021 14:11

I agree about taking photos or a timed video of the vehicle to protect yourself against false allegations.

And agree that any time now stated should be precise. If you are an early riser then early tomorrow morning, say 6.30am?

JenniferAllisonPhillipaSue · 01/08/2021 14:11

Please leave a vehicle in front of the gates so that he cannot use bolt-cutters to remove his car.

Also, be prepared for him waiting for you to come out of your front door, obviously going somewhere, so that you might not have time to engage with him ...

caughtinanet · 01/08/2021 14:11

No....no more notes, no more

Honestly the more she engages, the more he thinks he has won

He has no idea botany of this, he's a walker who isn't giving any thought to winning or anything like that, he probably doesn't even know what time it is

In his head he can turn up when it suits him and take his car because that's what men like that are like.

He's not giving any of this a moment's head space, he doesn't care
