What is the WORST pain you've ever had?

Personally, toothache (constant background throb with searing white hot stabs that made me feel like I was being electrocuted in my skull every few seconds) gets the award for absolute worst ever. Two frozen shoulders, and adenomyosis that used to regularly have me puking and fainting and almost hallucinating on the bathroom floor are strong contenders - but miles behind. There is just something about vicious toothache that makes it the worst.

Contemplating this as just back from the dentist, where at least for now, things were ok this time Grin

What about you?

Dry socket. No pain like it and a horrendous ear infection that had me sobbing in agony in the office.

Christmas21 · 28/07/2021 19:46

Getting splinters under my fingernails. I nearly passed out and could hear my blood pumping in my head.

2nd would be a severe kidney infection.

jmh740 · 28/07/2021 19:46

I've had 3 10lb+ babies, but I think a dry socket was the worst.

Siameasy · 28/07/2021 19:46

Back to back baby

AlbusSeverusMalfoy · 28/07/2021 19:46

Seriously bad IBS cramps that cause back ache, leg ache and electric pin and needles in feet. Sometimes feels like giving birth out the back end. Often feels worse then child birth.

Cryalot2 · 28/07/2021 19:47

E-coli
Covid
Hemiplegic migraine
Knee joint going out.

OldTinHat · 28/07/2021 19:47

Broken back.

Intercity225 · 28/07/2021 19:47

Broken ankle - far worse than having twins naturally!

GoodMorningSunshine · 28/07/2021 19:47

Trigeminal Neuralgia - aka the suicide disease. Wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. Have had 3 severe episodes/2 smaller ones. The first one being something I’d like never to experience again.

Closely followed by monthly severe period pain linked to multiple problems. But being monthly I could almost plan it. Know when I needed to carry pain relief.

@FuzzyPuffling

The death of my granddaughter.
I’m so sorry, @FuzzyPuffling Sad Flowers
LoveFall · 28/07/2021 19:48

Sorry TMI. I would have to say a very bad ulcerative colitis flare up. You get something called tenesmus which is a spasm of your rectum. On top of agonizing cramping that comes in waves.

I have been sat on the toilet sobbing it was so bad and so discouraging.

In remission now thank goodness.

What’s a dry socket?

I’ve been in anaphylaxis twice. When they injected the steroids in - the pain in my head was horrific. Worse 2nd time I think as I knew it was coming.

Yup. Toothache. OMG so so sore. Childbirth was next.
MrsToothyBitch · 28/07/2021 19:49

Worst: Falling, twisting and further tearing an already double sprained ankle (as in both sides of the same one). I went into shock. Couldn't sleep through the pain- it's amazing how much you use your feet to turn yourself in bed. I had just started walking again after the first sprain, think I put my weight down unevenly and it just popped out and threw me to the floor. Still recovering full power through my foot 2 years later.

Second: I get bad headaches- including sinus ones I can feel in my teeth- anyway but the one I had at the start of an inner ear infection. Once the headache passed, I had non painful but terrifying, dizzying and sick making vertigo. I couldn't do anything.

Floralnomad · 28/07/2021 19:49

Frostbite it’s absolutely hideous .

TheRebelle · 28/07/2021 19:49

I say this as someone who gave birth in the street with no pain relief or medical help and having to wait 30 minutes for an ambulance, having a verruca frozen off the ball of my foot was easily the most painful thing I’ve ever experienced!

TableDesk · 28/07/2021 19:50

Recovering from getting my tonsils out at 35yr old.

Burst ovarian cyst

Dry socket

Endometriosis

theressomethingaboutmarie · 28/07/2021 19:50

Breast thrush. I had it a few weeks after having DS and so the pain of childbirth was pretty fresh - it was the most intense, scary pain I’ve ever encountered. I was clawing at myself in desperation trying to get it to stop.

baldafrique · 28/07/2021 19:50

Miscarriage at nearly 11 weeks

Nat6999 · 28/07/2021 19:50

Gallstones & induced labour pains.

Yerroblemom1923 · 28/07/2021 19:50

Broken ankle. Somehow managed to break it in two places and dislocate it. I'd have childbirth anyway over that!

DidgeDoolittle · 28/07/2021 19:50

Steroid injections into the joints of 4 of my toes. The Consultant took ages as the bones were very close together and he had to force the needle into a practically non existent gap. It was horrendous.

gingerbiscuits · 28/07/2021 19:51

Gallstones. 100%. Even worse than childbirth!

Croprotationinthe14thcentury · 28/07/2021 19:51

I found impacted wisdom tooth worse than childbirth personally. Burst ear drum tied with childbirth
