What is the WORST pain you've ever had?

Personally, toothache (constant background throb with searing white hot stabs that made me feel like I was being electrocuted in my skull every few seconds) gets the award for absolute worst ever. Two frozen shoulders, and adenomyosis that used to regularly have me puking and fainting and almost hallucinating on the bathroom floor are strong contenders - but miles behind. There is just something about vicious toothache that makes it the worst.

Contemplating this as just back from the dentist, where at least for now, things were ok this time Grin

What about you?

Daisychainsandglitter · 28/07/2021 19:40

Childbirth

satci · 28/07/2021 19:40

Sciatica, sinusitis, childbirth, covid headache.

MolyHolyGuacamole · 28/07/2021 19:40

@Whywonttheyhelpme

Treading on Lego.
😂
TableFlowerss · 28/07/2021 19:41

Pushing my kids heeds (what felt like watermelons at the time) out of my sultana size vagina.

And now said vagina feels like it’s the size of a watermelon 🍉😭😭

MotherOfAllZipFiles · 28/07/2021 19:41

Listening to MIL go on and on about how DH could have joined mensa at 3 Hmm

That and gall stones

irresistibleoverwhelm · 28/07/2021 19:41

It’s a tie between an emergency forceps delivery with no pain relief; and coming round from an operation to cut into my shin bones and replace large parts of my knee joint 👍

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 28/07/2021 19:41

Back spasm.

FuzzyPuffling · 28/07/2021 19:41

The death of my granddaughter.

Flobbertybillop · 28/07/2021 19:42

The gas pains I’m currently suffering after a hysterectomy on Monday.

BabyRace · 28/07/2021 19:42

@alwayswrighty

Meningitis headache that went on for weeks on and off. Most crippling pain I've ever suffered and I've birthed two children with no pain relief.
I'd second this! Meningitis headache was awful. The paramedics asked for my pain score and didn't believe me when I said 9. I would have given birth again in that moment to make the pain stop. Everything made it worse, so I couldn't even cry.

Childbirth was no walk in the park but pleurisy was truly awful.

MakeCrisps · 28/07/2021 19:42

Plantar fasciitis in both feet at the same time. Way worse than childbirth, even the time I had to do it without pain relief.

Violinist64 · 28/07/2021 19:42

An abscess in my ear when I was thirteen, followed closely by a kidney infection.

Pinkandwhiteblossom · 28/07/2021 19:42

Kidney stones

(I had two children on gas and air, broken bones and once had a sinus headache so bad I genuinely thought I was having an aneurysm, for context)

blahblahblah321 · 28/07/2021 19:42

Also, had a wide excision of a dodgy mole, it was left open and OMG the bare nerves were uttering horrific. I couldn't even weight bear Sad

Fartymcnarty · 28/07/2021 19:43

@Stuckhere2021 that’s exactly how mine started. Look up the condition and see a doctor. Not trying to scare you but it caused a stroke in me and a blood clot on my brain. I’m only 39.

Cervicalflop · 28/07/2021 19:43

Bastard gallstones...almost as bad as giving birth, almost.

Mantlemoose · 28/07/2021 19:44

Gallstones (and I've got Crohns and had cancer too).

irresistibleoverwhelm · 28/07/2021 19:44

@unidentifed

Childbirth with forceful forceps and no pain relief (dr had one foot up in the bed and was pulling her with all his strength). I hemorrhaged and felt like I was going to die.
Same here re forceps with no pain relief. When DD was given to me I said to the consultant “please don’t let me die” and she referred me for an immediate PTSD psych consult because I was in shock.
Disfordarkchocolate · 28/07/2021 19:44

Removing the drain after my c-section, worse than any labour. Only in 36 hours and totally adhered to me, not allowed painkillers.

Inflamed bowel after a car crash, ended up in A&E being given morphine.

teraculum29 · 28/07/2021 19:44

child birth, tooth ache, period pain.

therocinante · 28/07/2021 19:44

Toothache. Had an infection that had spread to bone and didn't realise, I was rocking on the ground making a noise like a wild animal, wasn't capable of speech or rational though, literally howled at my husband like a wolf when he tried to touch me. Horrendous.

I'd break both my legs again, have the coil inserted once a week, anything over that.

Fleetw00d · 28/07/2021 19:44

First poo after a c section 🤣

MrsWOLF1 · 28/07/2021 19:46

Jellyfish stings the worse pain

Ofallthebarsinalltheworld · 28/07/2021 19:46

Child birth it was so horrible that I ended up with PTSD and put me off having any more.
