Isolating and binge watching couples come dine with me!

Would love to hear from anyone who has been on about what ifs really like behind the scenes!

Also.. if you were going to go on what would your menu be?!

I think I would keep it simple with:

Starter: sweet chilli king prawns and chorizo on a bed of rocket with home made bread.

Main: mozzarella and pesto stuffed chicken wrapped in Parma ham, with tendersteam broccoli and green beans and crushed roasted baby potatoes.

Desert: chocolate torte.

Does anyone remember the Welsh lady who had a dragon ornament at her front gate? As everyone walked past on the way to the front door, it breathed out fire and they all got a fright and jumped. It was hilarious and I kept replaying it back Grin

My sister and partner were on it last year. The first thing she said on National TV was, "I need a poo!" I was mortified!!!!!

No never done it. I know someone who has thought. My niece.

It was a laugh for her. That's why she did it. She was picked for her fun and don't give a f**k attitude.

The food wasn't great. They had an amazing evening as she is so funny. Well they all thought so

Not my cup of tea type though

keffie12 · 27/07/2021 00:13

Oh menu would be either

Prawns in rice paper
Cantonese special curry with fried rice
Oriental fruit salad

Or

Triple plaited fish with lemon sauce
Paella served with Turkish flatbread
Raspberry, vanilla and white chocolate cheesecake

Was that the woman whose cooking all went wrong but because of her way and humour they has a real good night, that night?

I'd be the guest from hell. I'm diabetic and I have a condition that means I have to avoid fat as much as possible so no cheese, no pastry.

Starter Beetroot gazpacho
Main Spanish style chicken ,boiled new potatoes an veg
Dessert Nigella's chocolate cake from her Christmas book.

I was on it a few years ago. Funniest week of my life. Exhausting though, we drank a lot and didn't leave til gone 1am every night. We are all still in touch. I don't remember my pictures being taken down from the walls as a PP said, but I do remember the closed curtains.
There's no advance warning of themes. You get told what tomorrow's is as you leave at c1am. Then have to scrabble round the next day for outfits.
We got on so well they had to stir up/invent conflict. So in the end 2 of the others made up a barney on the last night.
One contestant spat everything out and didn't like anything. But it's clear now she did it for the drama because I see her on fb cooking all sorts. She thought the attention would be fun but she was slated on social media and was very upset by that.
I used to get fb friend requests every time it came on, including from the same man who would ask me to sell him my knickers. Every. Time.
I don't remember anyone's food going cold, they let us get on with it and filmed around that, but when something noteworthy was said or done they'd stop us and get us to repeat it. Otherwise the filming was fairly unobtrusive (except on your hosting night). We drank A LOT and I've never laughed so much. On the second night I thought I was going to be sick when they wanted to put me in the scoring taxi - learnt a great tip that night, from the producer - drink dioralyte overnight to avoid a hangover. Apparently a couple of years ago they did a program of outtakes and there was me on it tottering down the alleyway (dressed as a headmistress - back to school theme) saying "leave me alone I'm going to be sick".
We had a "minder" who stayed with us when the film crew was in another room to make sure we didn't reveal menus or themes.
You're told what to look for when you go for a nose around the house.
On the last night nobody wanted it to end and everyone stayed in my house. I even got a bit of action 😳
My menu was scallops with black pudding and a tarragon butter sauce, lamb with blueberries and chocolate truffle torte. You get a good allowance but it doesn't cover the whole cost when you factor in all the dressing up themes (we had a theme every night bar one)
I'd do it again!

I can't remember anything about her food keffie, just the dragon Grin

Frazzledd · 28/07/2021 15:20

Not rtft but my favourite ever was the blonde lady who used the posh restaurant across the street to deliver courses through her kitchen window! And won! Genius Grin

I'm so sorry, I would have to ask for a cheese sandwich. Nothing there I could eat apart from the veg. CDWM is well past it's best now, the early series were fine but it's taken on a whole new slant.
