I have felt sick and tired all day. Can't get comfortable, didn't sleep last night etc. Is anyone actually enjoying it as I am certainly not. Dreading work tomorrow also.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 18/07/2021 21:56

Yes. I may be sweating like a pig straddling a radiator, but it's still nice to sit under the sail in the garden with a cold drink and a book...

poppym12 · 18/07/2021 21:59

Absolutely love it. I live a stone's throw from the sea and I've really appreciated the sea breeze today. Not sure I'd be enjoying it as much if I lived in a more built up area with worse air quality as I have a lung condition and heat plus pollution makes breathing difficult.

Mummyoflittledragon · 18/07/2021 22:03

Far too hot. Hate it. Got in dd’s pool earlier in a quick drying dress to stay cool after. But didn’t have the desired effect. Just felt uncomfortable!

DiabeticFirstBaby · 18/07/2021 22:06

Awful, got a 12 week old, trying to keep her cool, in the shade and the bedroom is way to hot!!

Thecurtainsofdestiny · 18/07/2021 22:06

Early 20sC here, just right!

Livingmybestlifenow · 18/07/2021 22:10

Yup, got up and played netball this morning, then sat in the garden all day…bbq, music on (no neighbours here!), drinking Pina Coladas, and in and out of the pool, just come inside for bed now.

SoupDragon · 18/07/2021 22:11

Short and selective memories.

Like those who claim it's always lovely.

ConkerBonkers · 18/07/2021 22:12

Love it, it's great! I never understand how the same people who enjoy holidays in the med moan endlessly when it's anything over 25 🤣

RoseMartha · 18/07/2021 22:15

Yes its great.
Yesterday was good because we had a breeze and it was abt 23

Hotter today abt 30. Went out for a few hours and had lunch out in the shade in a quiet tea garden so didnt get too hot.

GalesThisMorning · 18/07/2021 22:17

It's perfect. My little stone built cottage in the mountains is always cool, aside from the south facing kitchen extension which to be fair is oppressive. We eat outside. My garden is shady and breezy at the bottom, scorching on the patio. So I can alternate between hot and cool. I have a waterfall 2 mins walk from the house, and various lakes, rivers and the sea easily accessible. I'm surrounded by shady woodland and mountains that look stunning against the blue sky.

Sorry to gloat!! It pisses with rain about 300 days of the year here. When the sun shines it is glorious Grin

I grew up in a hot city so to everyone living in one - I feel your pain!!

fertilitybs · 18/07/2021 22:18

Omg love it!! Makes me want to move abroad lol

DismantledKing · 18/07/2021 22:18

In the Med I’ve got a pool and/or the sea, plus lovely aircon in my room. Here I just sweat while trying to do stuff.
SoupDragon · 18/07/2021 22:18

I remember all the foul weather because I have to walk my dog in it. Awful.

Also, I was so cold last month I considered putting the heating back on (I opted for a giant fluffy hoody instead)

peasoup8 · 18/07/2021 22:23

@SoupDragon a heatwave every couple of weeks during summer is not “very little”. Anyway, it’ll be autumn then winter soon enough Smile

bibblybop · 18/07/2021 22:24

Absolutely loathe this weather.

I just cannot cope in the heat and I've been dreading summer.

SachaStark · 18/07/2021 22:25

God, no.

I don’t understand why anybody enjoys this. Who wants to feel sweaty and uncomfortable all the time?

Every summer, it further compounds that I am really not built to exist in hot climates, and why I would never choose to holiday abroad in the sun. I’m so fair that I’m trapped in the house right now, unless I want to apply yet another layer of greasy factor 50 every ten minutes 😔

Fluffy40 · 18/07/2021 22:28

No, hate it, give me 20 degrees and a few showers any day.

MegaClutterSlut · 18/07/2021 22:29

Absolutely hate it, you can't move without sweating your tits off, everything is more of an effort and hate not sleeping because I'm too hot. Summer is my least favourite season and really don't understand how people enjoy this heat, its unbearable to me. Anything above 22 for me is shit imo Grin

peasoup8 · 18/07/2021 22:30

give me 20 degrees and a few showers any day.

Bliss!

Summerdayshaze · 18/07/2021 22:30

Hate it.

Ahhbiscuits · 18/07/2021 22:39

Absolutely despise this heat. It actually makes me feel depressed. July and August are my worst months of the year and I dread them completely. To the point where I have a whiteboard in my kitchen counting down the days till 1st September.. Blush

DrCoconut · 18/07/2021 22:40

Last year was awful weather apart from a couple of hot spells lasting a few days. Low temperatures, loads of rain and almost incessant wind. The previous year was not much better. I don't think record temperatures necessarily translate to overall good summers. It's looking like the first week of the holidays is going to be another washout based on the weather app. It's a pity school didn't break up last week. We really get very little good weather in this country compared to the amount of cold, wet, grey, depressing days.

MrsJuliaGulia · 18/07/2021 22:41

Yes. But spent the day by the pool.

PandasCatsWolves · 18/07/2021 22:44

Well I don't love love it as I don't enjoy getting overheated but I have strategies....

shutting the house up from 0830 am. Spending time in garden then coming inside is like going Into air on! Drives the kids mad though with me saying 'shut that door' all day....

Lots of cold water /drinks. Have a big container in fridge. Holds 3l. I put it in chillys style bottles. Each glass/ sip
Is v cold.

Paddling pool for my feet and the kids -we go a bigger one today and sitting in that cools whole body down

Taking shower then very minimally towelling off- go abs lie on bed on said towel whilst still wet. Lovely feeling drops evaporate off.

Lying still or sitting still as much as possible. Lying still in bed = essential

Being divorced - no sweaty radiator husband/ partner to make bed hot.

PandasCatsWolves · 18/07/2021 22:45

I eagerly await the sight of a thunderstorm on the forecast though !
