To not want to see any adult who hasn’t had the vaccine

I don’t feel like I want to hang out with anyone who has refused the vaccine. AIBU? It’s not only because I am worried they are carrying the virus it’s also because I resent them. I think they’re being selfish and also that they think they’re better than the rest of us!

@XenoBitch

YABVU

What makes you think you are so special that you are morally superior to your friends who have made a different choice to you?

They will be 100% better off without you.

YANBU

It's proving to be a divisive issue, and you're welcome to be choose to be friends or not friends with whoever you like.

@SchrodingersImmigrant

Overegged it otherwise it could be maybe believable as a real thread. 1.5 out of 5* Surprised people are actually engaging...

My lovely, vibrant, healthy 45 year old friend had the AZ vaccine and died as a result of her reaction to it. 1 in 50,000 chance of that happening to those under 50 but it did, though most other countries tries considered that risk too high and wouldn’t have given it to her. It’s shit, I’ve lost someone I have known and loved for 20 years and by I have had the vaccine - I had Pfizer but it was really really hard and scary for me but I did it. It took me a while, I kept changing the date, I cried with the nurse -Would you not be my friend during the time when I was working up to it? Would you not support me when I most needed support? Life is too short to judge people, you do you and just show kindness wherever you can.

SupermanWithTheGreyHair · 16/07/2021 09:15

Tell these people how you feel.... they wouldn’t want to be near anyone so vile.... problem solved. Wink

Starbar66 · 16/07/2021 09:18

Interesting to see so many anti-OP comments but a hefty vote in agreement...

VanGoSunflowers · 16/07/2021 09:20

That is your right OP.

I think it’s ridiculous though…

bringon2020 · 16/07/2021 09:24

I agree with you. There is a name for this people: free riders.

MidnightMonsterMunch · 16/07/2021 09:27

I’ve had both jabs. It’s up to other people what they do, quite honestly I don’t give a shit. I’m also unclear how I’d know they’d not had it unless they just volunteer that information. Do you often stop seeing people because of their medical choices?

newmummy21 · 16/07/2021 09:29

I think it’s a bit backwards to penalise people for wanting autonomy over their own body and decisions.

I think it's fucking terrifying.

Hardly a free rider. I’ve had the bloody virus!

Eh?!

LuaDipa · 16/07/2021 09:37

I’ve had the vaccine but I don’t agree that anyone should be forced or pressured into having a medical intervention of any kind. That isn’t the sort of society I would be comfortable living in if I’m honest.

I should also say that I would never ask about a person’s vaccination status, but I have found that those who have refused the vaccine are very keen to tell you all about it. With a hefty dose of judgement about blindly believing government propaganda and advice to ‘do your research’. I’m comfortable with my decision and don’t feel the need to force my views on others which is seemingly impossible for many people to understand nowadays.

FiveToedSloth · 16/07/2021 09:38

And to add, people who don’t want the vaccine are not thinking “it’s ok, everyone else will have it so I don’t have to”. My goodness, have you seen how many cases there have been in fully vaxxed and partially vaxxed people? I know of many many local people currently suffering from covid and ALL of them are double jabbed. These jabs aren’t doing such a good job of protecting people so how is anyone free riding off the vaccinated when the virus is running rife among those very people?!
You can make up as many slurs as you like against unvaccinated people but the majority have already had the virus and are probably more immune than people who have been vaccinated. Studies are saying vaccine immunity is waning within 6 months!

I'm sure they'll be devastated.

I do wonder about people who think it’s ok for others to take the risk over a new vaccine but they will wait to see what happens.

Thedogscollar · 16/07/2021 09:44

@Fthisshitimdone

How many of you vaccine refusers have had any Botox or lip fillers - be honest
You have just proven with this one comment to be full of shit. Go and play somewhere else OP this is a forum for grown ups.
Karmagoat · 16/07/2021 09:48

It's called freedom of choice love. Get over yourself.

Lavender24 · 16/07/2021 09:49

They probably don't want to hang out with you either.

Some don't think it's "ok" for others to take the risk - some people feel equally uneasy with others taking a risk. But they accept that others will make their own choices and they just need to focus on themselves and their own decisions end let others do the same.

JurassicShay · 16/07/2021 09:51

@Parker231 I do wonder about people who think it’s ok for others to take the risk over a new vaccine but they will wait to see what happens.

Everybody also has the choice to do this. Anybody could wait to see the side effects, I have the choice to wait and see which Iv taken. It's not like Iv made people take the vaccine to see if there's a risk before I do it. Hmm

user1471505494 · 16/07/2021 09:52

Being double jabbed doesn’t mean you can’t catch or spread Covid so YABU

OhWhyNot · 16/07/2021 09:52

We can all carry the virus, become unwell and pass on the virus regardless

Choosing not to socialise with people who have not been vaccinated is a moral dilemma one that I wouldn’t personally waste time thinking about

Parker231 · 16/07/2021 09:53

If everyone waited and didn’t have the vaccinations, I wonder what state the country would be in and what the numbers of deaths would be?

newmummy21 · 16/07/2021 09:55

Exactly - this is what I was trying to say. Being risk averse yourself doesn't make you necessarily "happy" for others to take that same risk - but what can you do about that? Nothing. We all make our own choices and that's ok.
